Hygge is the pursuance, recognition and enjoyment of the small joys in life. It could be sitting fireside with friends and family enjoying the company of a crisp fall evening by the creek, it could be snuggled up with a cozy blanket and a novel sipping lavender tea, or it could be taking the boat out on the first warm day of spring smelling nature's bloom.

Our family had a wonderful weekend at the cottage. It is precious and well stocked. The beds were comfortable, and our kids love the reading book. I would highly recommend it as a quaint getaway from the city or a great place to stay if you are coming to the area for an event.
Don't let the lack of reviews scare you - such a sweet spot
Great place to stay! It was so cute and the decor and amenities exceeded expectations. Christina was a great communicator: quick to response and thorough. We arrived right after a winter storm that left a layer of ice on everything and we were pleased to see how well outside had been salted and prepared for our arrival. I do wish the weather would have been nicer because it would have been great to sit outside on the deck overlooking the creek or enjoy an evening fire. Upon entering we found the house very clean, warm and cozy. It has been nicely remodeled while still having country cottage charm. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and there were multiple coffee makers and a nice tea selection. The candles, scented lotions and oils, etc. were a lovely touch. Beds were comfortable and we found our evenings in the living room sipping bourbon together very relaxing. The little boutique was a really cute touch and there were a number of business card and resources to guide you if you're looking for shopping and restaurant ideas. A couple of things to note: the children's bedroom is connected to the larger upstairs bedroom meaning you have to walk through the first bedroom to get to the children's room and the house is close to a fairly busy road (which you can see in the master bedroom pics). Neither were an issue for us and a house in the city would likely have had similar traffic noise. We wanted to be out of the city which made this location very enjoyable for us, but you do have a drive to get to the larger cities and distilleries. We also liked that it was more centrally located between Louisville and Lexington.
Overall, we took a chance on pictures alone (no reviews were available) and couldn't have been more pleased!
This was a charming cottage that was perfect for our family. The location was central to all we wanted to do and was easily accessible. We realized we wanted to do more than we’d planned. In fact we had such a great time and over scheduled, we extended our stay by two more days. (Thanks Chrissy!)
We read where others had commented about road traffic and sounds, however we were not bothered by it at all. The home is well insulated and the noise was not a factor.
We are seasoned travelers and have stayed in many Vrbo’s, what we appreciate is when a host goes out of the way to make their place unique and themed, which this one was and to our specific trip interest.
If you’re looking to relax and enjoy the comforts of Kentucky, this is a great choice.
Absolutely wonderful cottage! Cute, comfortable, cozy and welcoming, this cottage has everything. Clean, nice deck, fire pit. Host pays a lot of attention to detail, has everything you will need. Great night sleep I. The comfy beds too! Definitely a place to stay.
Super clean and extremely well decorated home. The cottage has everything you need for a nice stay. Couldn't help all the rain, was unable to enjoy the back porch. Not the owners fault.
Relaxing, comfortable and full of amenities. From options for making coffee, to the ear plugs to sleep the night away and everything in between. I couldn't find something to ask for. Well done with lots of creativity. Thank you for a home away from home.
We came to Kentucky to celebrate our anniversary, and tour the local distilleries. This house was about 30 minutes from everything we wanted to do in that part of the state. Chrissy thought of every little detail in decorating the house to providing small things for her guests. It was perfect.
The house was amazing. Super cute and very comfortable. Didn't have any problems during our stay. The only thing missing was a ceiling fan in the master bedroom. Other than that the place is amazing and if we ever come back to Kentucky to visit we definitely will be booking this place again
This house is really a gem. Spotless and tastefully decorated. There was a generous welcome basket and spa-like touches in the bedroom and bathroom (white bathrobes, sleep mask, artisan soaps, and so forth). The kitchen is well-equipped. There's even a small gift shop set up with an assortment of nice gifts with local branding. If I'd had more time, I would have done some holiday shopping. The only reason this is not a 5-star stay is the location of the house in close proximity to a county highway with a surprising amount of traffic, especially pick-up trucks that disturb the otherwise really lovely setting behind the house. There's a nice little deck with table and chairs overlooking a stream, and we did enjoy our dinner there, but the noise from the road was fairly intrusive. With that caveat, I would nonetheless return and recommend this house to a small group. It would be tight with more than 4 adults, I think, but it was perfect for our group of 4.
I booked this cottage for just one night to host a private chef preparing a 5 course dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Chrissy was very gracious in accommodating our request for an early check in to allow the chef time to prepare. The bed in the downstairs master bedroom was phenomenal, best night sleep we had on our trip so far! Though we didn’t utilize it, the upstairs bunk room was SO cute, our kids would have loved it. There are so many cozy touches to make you feel right at home. We would return!
This was such an enjoyable experience! The hostes was amazing. She was readily available when we needed and was quick to respond. The cottage was adorable! Perfect for us! Out of the city, but close enough for us to travel everyday! We will be coming back!!
The cottage was just as advertised, the host was very hospitable. A welcome basket of various items was on the kitchen table along with a couple of sweet treats from a local shop. We appreciated the thought and effort. The host was helpful and quick to reply when we had questions. Our check “in & out” process was smooth and painless. The only knock on the cottage is the proximity to the road on the front side of the house, the volume of noise and traffic was less on the weekend as opposed to the weekdays. But on both points the traffic is noticeable, and a bit more than we expected (based on a previous reviewer). Overall we enjoyed our stay and the host. We choose this location based on our activities which were in Lexington & Louisville giving us a centeralish home base.
This place is a definite must when desiring a peaceful, chill travel stay. The cottage was amazingly beautiful and the host was so hospitable in that you would lack for nothing. Every small detail makes a big experience.
Cozy as the name suggests and plenty of room for our family of 3. Gas station less than a half mile away with firewood and other items I. The small store.
The house has everything you need but forgot tooth brushes, snacks etc
We came to Louisville for the MATS Show. We could not have been happier with this home. Super clean, absolutely cute, the decor was on point! We could have left our toiletries at home as everything was provided just in case we forgot something! The towels were bright white and the bed linens were soft! They have thought of everything! 10/10!
It was a cery peaceful calm and relaxing home in a very good location not too close to town but just enough away that it was easy to do things. The property owner was very welcoming and made us feel right at home
