The accommodation is very functional and bright, with mountain views.
You'll also have easy access to the Megève ski area and Espace Diamant.
Access to ski areas:
1) Mont d'Arbois:
This is the best-known part of the Megève ski area. You'll find pistes for all levels, and can ski according to the sun. However, this is the busiest part of the ski area, especially during the school vacations. Head up to the summit of Mont-Joly to enjoy the view of the surrounding area.
Our favorite runs are Princesse Noire, Voltigeurs and Students. If you like to visit the area on skis, go as far as Saint-Nicolas-de-Véroce, which is a very pleasant walk. When the snow is heavy, you can ski back to the village on the Calvaire piste (a pleasant walk that passes through chalets).
Restaurants in city :
- Le Torrent: for eating a good fondue;
- Le River: Ideal place for lunches/brunches;
- Le Saint Nicolas: a gourmet restaurant with a very promising young chef. With excellent menus and very reasonable wine prices;
- Le Bar des Deux Alpes: good pizzas to take away;
Having a drink:
- Le Soleil d’or: Rooftop with an unobstructed view of the village;
If you want to go out later in the evening:
- La Ferme Saint-Amour: the perfect place for a late dinner and dancing to music that everyone will enjoy.
Grocery stores and wine merchants:
- L’Epicurie: caterer, wine merchant, also sells fruits and vegetables (delicious roasted ham hocks);
- Cave du Flocon de Sel: a very nice selection of wines and champagnes. They have very good Savoyard wines.
- La Cave du Mouton Rouge: excellent selection of wines and Champagnes as well;
- Maison Bello: excellent butcher shop;
- Coopérative du Val d’Arly: if you like cooperatives, you will find a butcher and cheese section here.
Supermarkets and bakery:
- Carrefour Montagne;
- Intermarché in Praz-sur-Arly;
- La Choco (various locations to buy bread).
Mountain restaurant:
We advise you to book your restaurants at the beginning of your stay.
1) Mont d’Arbois:
- Sous les Freddys: small restaurant with a unique menu consisting of potato pancakes, salad, cold cuts, and cheeses. The prices are very reasonable for the area. The chalet is very small, remember to book in advance;
- The Chalet des Grands Prés: a family restaurant that uses products from their own farm. The restaurant is not always open;
- Le Boitet: new mountaintop restaurant by Emmanuel Renaut (3-star Michelin chef). It has a terrace and a magnificent view of Mont Blanc. You need to book in advance;
2) Rochebrune:
- Le Pré Rosset: family restaurant as well. The view of the Diamant space is very beautiful. They raise their cows and offer excellent meats. The tartiflette is also a must-try at the house.
For pedestrians, you can go to Le Petit Lay, which is the other restaurant of the family. The terrace is well-exposed, but the welcome there is less friendly;
- Le Lac de Javen: restaurant and sandwich shop with affordable prices;
- Le Radaz: local dishes and sandwich shop.
3) Jaillet:
- La Petite Ravine: beautiful omelets, good Savoyard dishes at very affordable prices. Very beautiful view of Mont-Blanc;
- L’Auberge du Bon Journal: a family-run restaurant with good dishes. Very beautiful homemade tarts for dessert.
Activities in the municipality:
- the Megève Sports Palace: Pool with whirlpool baths/sauna/hammam, ice rink, climbing room;
- Les Fermes de Marie: massages and treatments next to the apartment;
Don't hesitate to check the city's agenda, which is always very well filled (exhibition, concert, children's readings...).
Welcome :)
