Two Bedroom Luxury Glamp, huge deck, private Hot Tub at The Destination Resort
This Shaka style Safari tent pays homage to both our roots. Growing up in Clearwater and St. Pete, the Gulf and its beaches were a huge part of our lives. The glamp is a throwback to a shabby chic beach cottage filled with eclectic decorations, Florida style furnishings, and beachy art. With a queen bed in each of the bedrooms and a queen sofa sleeper you are ready to put your toes in the sand and sip on something cool and refreshing. The walk in shower is enormous, as is the entire bathroom. Cool in the summer and toasty in the winter, this 650 sq ft glamp is also complimented with over 1300 sq ft of decking featuring an amazing outdoor living space, both covered and uncovered with a grill and 7x7 hot tub. The only thing missing is a couple of palm trees, or are they?

This is the place if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway! There are many outdoor activities to enjoy or you can just slow down your pace and enjoy your surroundings. The owners, Rhonda and Skip Courtney are so welcoming and make you feel right at home.

Thanks Terry! Please disregard my recent request for a review, we are still learning the VRBO ropes
Skip and Rhonda are such amazing hosts! Glamping at its best! All the amenities are inside the glamp or on the porch. The bathroom is gorgeous and the beds are hotel worthy. Come ready to grill any food and enjoy the hot tub and shoals.

You are too kind, Rebecca! We enjoyed your whole group! Please come stay with us again, leaves change in November (hint hint)
This experience was unlike anything we’ve ever done. The yurts were so comfortable and had everything we could possible need. The setting is quiet and so relaxing. The hosts are generous and their Sunday brunch is legendary. My kids loved fishing and canoeing. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Thanks Carmen! Guests like ya'll make us remember why we chose this crazy idea for our retirement!! Thanks and please come back!
This was my second glamping trip to the Destination Resort. I brought more friends and family this time and they rented one of the other glamps. The fall colors were spectacular. We enjoyed our walks along the river and even caught a fish while there. The resort provided the poles and tackle which made it easy to just pick up a rod and fish. The trip was wonderful just like last time.

Thanks Leslie! It was a true pleasure hosting you and your party. I hope you are all preparing for a memorable holiday season! get ready for a New Year and hopefully we will see you again soon.
Our group had an absolute blast. Hosts are clearly wonderful people! The glamp was even more stunning in person with a lovely view of Sandy Creek. If we weren’t cooking on the grill, hanging out by the fire, relaxing in the amazing hot tub or hiking the trails, we were flying our hawk (who clearly also had a great time :) We’ll definitely be back. Bonus points for being so close to Auburn of course!
In for Homecoming weekend at Auburn. Quiet place with lots of privacy. So much better than a low end hotel! Hosts were very gracious, accommodating and hospitable. Yurt was well furnished, clean and very comfortable.
Would love to go back and explore this beautiful piece of property and enjoy the amenities.
A little drive to and from Auburn, but manageable with no traffic. Close to Lake Martin, so there are restaurants within a few miles.

Thanks Tim, we certainly hope you will keep us on your getaway radar and return for another visit!
WOW!! Where can we begin? This place is so special to us now. We stayed for our wedding weekend and could not have picked a better destination! From the shoals to the glamps themselves, it was a perfect stay. Our hosts were so wonderful!!! We enjoyed a private massage on site and a private dinner at the wine cellar in the lodge as a special treat for our first day as husband and wife. We frequent Alex city all summer every year and NOW, we have a new oasis to come to every time! We cannot wait to see Skip and Rhonda again and stay at all of the other glamps! Clearwater was a dream from the moment we arrived until we dreaded leaving. Cannot wait to be back in paradise!

We were coming into Alabama to attend an Auburn-LSU football game. While in the area, we decided to try something different and booked a long weekend stay at this "Glamping" property. We could not have made a better choice. We really enjoyed this remote hideaway in the woods and will definitely come back if in the area again.
Skip & Rhonda Courtney My wife and I have been married for 37 years, enjoying great careers and raising two handsome sons along the way. In 2004 we bought part of an old building in downtown Nashville and renovated it into our urban loft home. It soon became know as The Music Loft as we hosted many artist showcases, record release parties, deal signings and all sorts of other events. We also rented the property as a vacation home where we cut our teeth on the short term rental market. We have a passion for hospitality and the opportunities it gives us to do the things we love the most, meet people from all over the world, entertain, cook, and provide a top notch lodging experience. We are excited to share our new venture, The Destination Resort, with as many people as we possibly can. So come and enjoy a Glamping Experience with us!
Why they chose this property
Once we sold The Music Loft in downtown Nashville, we began looking for the right place to develop our dream retirement business. We had always talked about owning a B&B or even an old inn somewhere. Once I retired we started the search in earnest and surprisingly life led us to a most beautiful spot just outside of Dadeville Alabama. We fell in love with Sandy Creek (more like a river if you ask me!) and purchased the first 78 acres in early 2018. The property is accessed by a 1.25 mile red dirt access road and is covered in Alabama hardwoods from the highest point on the ridge all the way down to the banks of Sandy Creek, which runs along the entire western edge of the property. With no roads, electricity, or water supply, we still saw the potential and took on the three year challenging journey to develop the property into the destination it is today! Along the way we purchased an additional 24 acres on the north side of the creek to insure that the view remained beautiful and the resort stayed private. We are ready to begin sharing it with the rest of the world jus as soon as you can get here!
What makes this property unique
The resort provides our guests with a chance to get back in touch with themselves, their loved ones, and the beauty of nature. With only 4 glamps and a max occupancy of 20 guests, it provides a private setting that is still easily accessible. The star is, ,of course, Sandy Creek. From the rushing, tumbling shoals, to the lazy slow currents downstream, the creek provides so many ways to enjoy the property. Snag a couple of Adirondack chairs, sit them right in the shoals and enjoy the cool water running by on a hot August day, or jump in a canoe and paddle out to Lake Martin, one of the largest resort lakes in the Southeast. How about throw a line in and try your luck at snagging a bass? Sit around a fire, strum a guitar and roast some S'Mores while listening to the water bubbling past. Take an early morning hike all the way down the Creek Trail, over the Troll Bridge and down to Bridge View Point. Keep an eye out for deer, turkey, rabbits, hawks, and who knows what else? Come hang with us at Sandy Creek Lodge and get a dose of television if you need it, Grill out on your deck, or reserve a special dinner at The Lodge if you dont want to cook yourself. Jump in the car and go explore the sites and experiences the Lake Martin Resort area has to offer, from the Dadeville Square to Toomers Corner in Auburn. Rent a pontoon or jet skis and discover the lake itself with great restaurants, bars, live music and more!
