The cabin was the perfect definition of cozy, relaxing and taste of fall that your soul needs. It was very clean and Mark responded quickly to any questions we may have had.
These beautiful cabin was just perfect for our family we have so much fun ..having a cup of coffee with the amazing view it’s just one of many things u can do in the property…
We had one of us travel from Muchigan and one from Florida to this beautiful cabin. The views were gorgeous, the cabin clean, warm and inviting. Thank you!
This place has it all….the breathtaking view is beyond belief! Spacious, clean, cozy, comfy, quiet, and peaceful! The owners were so kind and attentive. This cabin is close to lots of beautiful sights as well. Do not hesitate to rent for this lovely cabin.
We were honeymooners the first time we stayed at House of Krauss. You cannot beat this cabin for a romantic couples vacation. Maybe share with another couple. There is room for kids, but we are glad we didn’t have to share. Private hot tub under the stars and a fire pit.
We loved everything about this cabin. The views were amazing. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The cabin was perfectly decorated for Christmas down to the last detail. It felt like we were in a Hallmark Christmas movie. Every room including the bathrooms has little Christmas touches. Any hiccups we experienced were taken care of immediately. We would definitely stay here again especially around Christmas!
This house is easy to get to from the Main Rd in Hiawassee. The road to the house was paved, steep but short. You get use to it after the first time. Great view, you can even see Brasstown Bald! Plenty of room, kitchen well equipped, nice bathrooms. Comfortable beds, with views from each bedroom. Children loved the downstairs! Close to grocery stores, and fun outdoor activities.
The home owner took great care of us and rectified the one issues we had. The home is beautiful and super cozy. The views are nice and we had the best time playing ping pong. All communication with the host was answered quickly.
The town is nice with a lot hiking near by.
The host recommended Enrico Italian Restaurant and Brother Restaurant, both were amazing.
Very few restaurants in the town are open on Mondays!
Beautiful cabin with great views. Location was great and easy to get to. The hosts were awesome. Only problem we had was for those with bad backs – the beds really sag and and need replacing. The cabin is decorated beautifully with lots of attention to details, and hot tub was big and wonderful. Even had a “fairy garden” which our five year old absolutely loved. Lots of great hiking close by and close enough to Hiawassee to go into town when needed, but felt like you were far away. You won’t be disappointed with his cabin!
We really enjoyed this property, and Mark was so kind and helpful. I chose this place because of the great views, the hot tub and the multiple beds. One downside was that one of the beds outside had a lizard hanging out on it and possibly some type of rodent based on the hole in the pillow, and the droppings. I can only image that it would be difficult to maintain the beds on the deck though, so it wasn't too much of a surprise that they were not very usable. Over all this was a great place to stay with a lot of fun activities in the area. We really enjoyed it and recommended this place to other friends!
Well-appointed cabin with beautiful mountain views. Loved watching the hummingbirds at the two feeders from the main level porch. There are rockers and an outdoor table and chairs there. Can see Brasstown Bald when clouds cleared. Comfortable bedrooms and baths. Glad we had the charcoal grill and supplies to cook out when we arrived. Enjoyed the hot tub and the ping pong table and checkers. There was a mixer, blender and coffee pot to use. Peaceful location and the nightly sounds of nature were relaxing. Highly recommend this home.
Wonderful location, beautiful cabin!. So much space and all the amenities anyone could need. It fit our family of seven quite nicely. Watching, from the nice large porch, the sunrise each morning coming up over the back of the cabin into the valley below was probably one of my favorite moments each day. There are plenty of good places to hike nearby. The only con about this location is having to leave when the vacation is over.
Stunning views from every deck & outside. Cabin is in a great area, close to the lake, hiking, shops etc. Driveway is steep so be aware when driving up and pulling in to the cabin. Super clean and decorated beautifully, felt like home away from home. Hot tub, fire pit, rooms..everything was perfect. Deer and other wild animals frequently traverse the poperty, we have some great pictures! The ONLY issue we had was on the 4th night, ants came out of the kitchen wall and destroyed a lot of our food even though it was all sealed, but it did not take away from our stay whatsoever. Landscaping is beautiful but could use maybe some weed whacking. Mr. Krause was very accomodating and responsive! Overall, we absolutely loved this cabin, the views and our whole stay. We stay in cabin all over NC, TN & GA, this has been our favorite. Oh and SO many stars!!!
WE LOVED THIS CABIN!! We plan on making this a tradition to visit the House of Krause! The cabin was gorgeous. Very clean and cozy! We were pleasantly surprised to see that the cabin was bigger than we thought. There was plenty of space. Communication with Mr. Krause was wonderful! He is the kindest and responsive VRBO host I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He really made our trip!! Check in and check out was easy. THE VIEWS!!! We spent hours on the balcony just looking out at the mountains. Great view of Brasstown Bald as well. We also loved watching the hummingbirds that visited. We can't wait to go back!
Overall we enjoyed our stay and I wanted to leave a high rating but there were a few items worth noting. The landscaping wasn't quite as nice as the photos and some refreshing is needed. The single lane private road or driveway is very steep in spots and some people may find this intimidating. If another car comes along you may need to back down a bit to move out of the way. The microwave was dirty so I assume it was missed during the last cleaning. Outside there were countless carpenter bees and wasps. Also red ants around the hot tub. I understand that the carpenter bees are harmless but it can make for some uncomfortable time on the deck and hot tub areas. We still used these areas, but less than I would have liked to. We also had ants in the kitchen daily on the counter but never left food out. Now -- with that said, we still had a great time as a family. The interior is decorated well, the kitchen has everything you need, the beds are comfortable, there's plenty of space for everyone, the ping pong table is a blast, and it's a good location for visiting Hiawassee, Brasstown Bald, Young Harris, etc. We accidentally discovered Alexander's Store nearby which was a great stop as well. Again, I recommend the stay but wanted to be transparent with some of these details as it is not mentioned in the description nor were we given a heads up about potential bees or the driveway specifics. Mark was responsive over text with my questions so I appreciate that.

My wife and I purchased this house in April of 2007. One year later after an approximate $100,000 in renovations, additional landscaping and furnishings, we opened our vacation home for travelers around the world to enjoy! Our original intent was to enjoy this property in the spring and fall, but we have found that the winter and summer months are spectacular as well. Please enjoy our home and the beauty of the North Georgia Mountains!
Sincerely, Mark & Suzanne Krause Property Owners
