Things To Note:
Maximum occupancy is 16 people at all times. No pets, no smoking, no commercial usage, and no large gatherings or events are allowed on site.
Bring an adventurous spirit! The Sanctuary at Sacred Mesa is located in a remote area. You will need to drive 10.3 miles down a graded gravel road to reach the right-hand turn to the property (Sacred Mesa Trail). We highly recommend a 4 x 4 vehicle, particularly after a rainstorm! The nearest town is about 20 - 25 minutes away, so be sure to stock up on whatever you need before you go to the property. IMPORTANT! When you navigate to the Sanctuary, do not use the actual address. Type “The Sanctuary at Sacred Mesa” into your navigation device and you’ll end up at the front door.

The house is amazing. The views from the property are great. The grandkids loved the game/excercise space in the garage. Plenty of space for all 13 of us to spread out. Other reviewers have said it and i will say it, "you really need an suv to maneuver the driveway safely".
My big family and I had such an amazing experience at this property. Even during July when the temperatures are high we had so much fun. Would recommend canopies or shade if you plan to be out by the pool all day!
Beautiful house in a great setting. Easily accommodated 10 adults. Centered in between Sedona and Jerome. Tricky roads so be prepared for a bumpy ride but is completely worth it.
Beautiful property! We just thought it was a little over priced.

Manager/Owner we're amazing, great communications and insanely fast response time. House was extremely clean-- sometimes with larger rentals you will find they are a bit dirty just because they are so large and this was not the case, the place was very clean. Beautiful backdrop and amenities.. overall this location is so special it will be an unforgettable stay for all who venture out-- well worth the little drive from Sedona!
Had everything you could want! Amazing views of the mountains and mesas with peaceful isolation from everything. 11 mile drive on the gravel road was worth it! Came with complimentary initial supply of coffee, coffee filters and flavored creamer (not my thing but my wife loved it). They had everything for cooking with seasoning, olive oil, pots and pans. Brita water filter in the fridge. The guest's health and fitness isn't neglected. In addition to beautiful hiking in Sedona, the house was equipped with a cable station to work out, treadmill, bike, and elliptical. Dual Bluetooth speakers. Dual gas grills. Outdoor kitchen with refrigerator and stove. The place came stocked with toilet paper, garbage bags, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent. No detail was missed. This place was designed for guests to disconnect, gather and relax. We loved it and didn't want to leave.

Yaaaaaay!! We’re so thrilled you loved the Sanctuary, Brian! Thanks so much for the kind words. Please come back soon… you and your wife were the perfect guests, and the reason we do this. ♥️ xo Robyn
Stunning location, beautifully appointed property, absolutely perfect for a large group (we were 14) of people comfortable enough to live together. The shared spaces and amenities made our communal gathering truly special, while the property is still expansive enough to allow for ample personal space.
Additionally, responsiveness of the property manager was incredible — every question, no later how small, was promptly handled/answered.
The home was stunning! Didn’t care much for the isolated dirt road we had to take to get to and from it but that's why its so isolated and private. Really appreciated how well stocked the home was and property manager was super nice and always available. The only things that would have made trip better are... they need to spray for wasps and add an umbrella out by pool.
My family has been having reunions for 10 years, and this is the second time we decided to host our reunion in Sedona. The Sedona surroundings alone are gorgeous, but Sanctuary at Sacred Mesa was all that its name implied. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was one of the best stocked kitchens we've ever experienced in our 10 years of renting homes. The pool was provided with innertubes and floats; and the pool itself offered a huge source of entertainment for our grandchildren. In addition to hours of fun-filled swimming; it attracted frogs in the evening that the kids had a blast catching. We didn't use the gym much, but we found that the equipment was in good condition, and the games/activities abundantly available and in good shape. We've done the vacations with entertainment parks and whatnot, but this years' option with Sacred Mesa proved to be a perfect choice for our needs - rest and relaxation. It's just what we wanted!
Our experience at The Sanctuary at Sacred Mesa was truly exceptional. The stunning views and beautiful home exceeded all our expectations. The amenities were top-notch, but what really stood out was the outstanding service and responsiveness of Jeri. Her attention to detail and prompt assistance made our stay truly memorable.
The cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere of the home were impeccable, with a thoughtful welcome sign that made us feel right at home. It was our second visit to this house, and we were impressed by the many upgrades that had been made since our last stay.
Overall, our time at The Sanctuary at Sacred Mesa was fantastic. Our entire family had a wonderful time, and we are already looking forward to coming back in the future. Thank you for a truly unforgettable experience. RyanG

Ryan! We’re so thrilled that you enjoyed your second stay even more than your first!! And thank you so much for the kind words about the home and Jeri. Please come back soon! We can’t wait to host you and your family again. Xo Robyn (and jeri!)
The views were as spectacular as anticipated, and the entire property provided a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday for our extended family (ages 2 - 79)! We watched the sunrise and sunset from the upstairs deck, and they were absolutely stunning - as were the stars at night.
The EXTENSIVE collection of indoor and outdoor games were a huge hit - we held a family "Olympics" with bracket play for basketball, shuffleboard, ping pong, mini golf, pickleball, and bocce ball. It was a highlight of our trip!
Jeri was very responsive both before our visit and during our stay. She prepared us in advance that the pool would have a hard time getting heated due to the cool weather. With the extra propane heat, it warmed up just enough that our kids (and two brave dads) were able to take some brief swims. The hot tub was a perfect temperature and worked perfectly. It would be awesome if a more powerful heater could be added in the future to make the spectacular pool more fully usable in these colder months.
All of the bedrooms (including the media room) were very comfortable. We were grateful for the beach towels, extra linens, extensive kitchen supplies, and large laundry machines. Check in and check out were easy and straightforward. The drive to the house was indeed an adventure on the dirt road, but we knew that in advance and rented 4 wheel drive vehicles.
We truly loved the house and our stay. It is a special property, and we would be excited to return.
If you want to escape to the beauty and serenity of the Red Rocks yet have all the amenities of modern living you have found the perfect place! Our visit was a celebration/bachelorette girls weekend. This home is great for large groups as it provided a central place for all of us to congregate, yet many areas to retreat to have some alone time. Know that you are definitely off the grid when renting this home (about 45 min to get to the main road), so plan accordingly. No running out for a quick bite or to pick up something. That being said, you do not long for anything as the kitchen is well appointed, if you desire to cook outside, you have that option too. It was too cold to use the beautiful pool but we enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit.
The home is undergoing improvements so it will have even better accommodations. We were unfortunately not able to utilize the new bathroom being installed or the deck. We did experience a slight delay to check-in because the cleaners were still cleaning due to the construction dirt, however Jeri communicated all of this and was extremely responsive to all inquiries.
The bedroom off the garage (3 beds) is great for teens, but the only downside is there is no bathroom with a shower near (there is a half bath down the stairs). The garage/gym/game area is a great hang out as well. Otherwise the other bedrooms have full baths to access & we suspect the upgrades will create a new en-suite bedroom and possibly relocate the media room.

Disliked: Location
Experience not worth the cost.
There’s plenty to love about the property, but sadly overshadowed by a ripple of experiences one just doesn’t expect given the cost. Loves: 1) view, 2) airy / spacious main living space 3) well-equipped (except for cleaning supplies). Rippled of experiences:1) the drive into property is bumpy and broke parts of two vehicles (Range Rover: knocked out water pump/shook lose the water line on windshield wiper, Audi A8 - flat tire and blew out front hydrolics) 2) signs leading up to the property “Homes not Hotels” just doesn’t give you a great vibe to start one’s vacation after a long road trip. 3) neighbor honking and yelling “this is private property, you can’t be here!” While already stuck with a flat tire on the side of a public road. 4) neighbors building super high speed bumps that even an bottom of SUV was scraped. 5) conditioner for main living area needed to be fixed two days after check in as one of the AC units locked up or frozen - so one of the rooms also was too warm for our family members (property manager did bring portable ac units day after our check in). 6) our flat tire only had a hole without any nail or screw but clearly punctured- asked to have owners review cameras but did not hear back. 7) while in miles Sedona doesn’t seem far away, that dirt road is at least 45 minutes out not really making it too convenient to want to explore. So we stayed in 4 of the 5 days and that one day we did go out; caused $6,000+ of car repair cost.

The Sanctuary at Sacred Mesa team is so sorry that you didn’t have the epic experience you sought on your trip to Sedona. We truly do strive to make every stay a one-of-a-kind vacation of a lifetime for our guests. Our remote location offers the best red rock views in Sedona, and that amazing view comes with some dirt road adventures. This is why we do suggest an SUV for your trip. That being said, it’s generally a very kind and gentle road, and we rarely have issues with car damage of any kind. On your trip in, it was a little more rutty than usual, as one of our neighbors decided it was a great day to build a couple of dirt speed bumps in front of her house. We are so sorry the car was damaged, and we have contacted the county about the man made speed bumps on our easement. We’ll also ensure they’re not there for the next guests, and we will be happy to share that neighbor’s contact information with you if needed for an insurance claim.
Regarding the air conditioning, this was a really unfortunate series of events that sadly made your stay less comfortable. The 5,000-square-foot home has multiple AC units and mini-splits to ensure guests can relax in their desired temperature range. Sedona has been experiencing extreme heat waves like most of the country. To our dismay, the last guests set the thermometers to an extremely low setting which caused the systems to freeze. We contacted our AC company as soon as we were notified of the issue, and we purchased, delivered, and set up $1000 worth of portable AC units to ensure that you and your guests were comfortable until the AC system could be serviced the following day. We are so sorry that our attempt to fix the issue was unsatisfactory. We now have great extra portable units, and the thermostats are locked to prevent freezing in the future.
Regarding the neighbors' signs and personalities, we wish we could control our neighbors with an active Airbnb home right behind their sign. :) We want to let our guests know we love and appreciate you more than you know.
We are also upgrading our security camera system and lighting to let guests know they’re safe and well cared for while allowing for the complete isolation and privacy you sought in booking our home.
Please do not let this negative review turn you away and we take every comment seriously and do our best
If you're wondering if the photos and video are an accurate depiction of this property, the answer is no...it's much more spectacular, much more breath taking than you can imagine! My teammate and I provided a retreat for 6 Pastors from CA and AZ, and they were literally taken aback when we arrived walked through the front door and out the giant glass sliders to the negative edge pool with the back side of Sedona behind it. Luxurious in every way, this property/house/castle was perfectly serene and private and disconnected from the grind. If I have the chance to bring another group here, I will not hesitate. Customer service was fantastic also, but didn't need much of that...it was already provided in the welcome basket, and comfort of the spacious estate. Amazing.
It was a spectacular view from the backyard. House was a bit dirtier than expected, floors and the blenders and some utensils and kitchen pots we not cleaned properly. Garage was not cleaned at all, dead bugs were on the floor and also some dirt.
lots of things to do around the house that was a plus. backyard in beautiful with views and amazing pool.
