You have antique shops everywhere, outlet malls in Silverthorne, and if you want to go into Denver for shopping and museums, you are less than 2 hours away.
If you can imagine an activity, you can find it in Summit and Park County. They don't call it the "Park" without good reason.
If you can think of an outdoor activity, you will probably find it within 5-20 minutes of the home. Fairplay is known as the "Base Camp" of Colorado and it is a great area to call your "Base Camp".
This is a beautiful home to spend any season of the year. The access is easy and 4-wheel drive is not a necessity but is recommended in the winter months. You can find all of these activities within minutes of the home:

Cabin served well, cabin was clean and had most all of necessities. Great cabin but needs a little work. Great location, close to top rated fishing spot Montgomery Reservoir. Bbq grill needs replaced. Driveway was rough and wouldnt want to be there in winter. Lots of maintenance needs to be performed and updated. Hot Ph bad, loaded full of shock and chlorine
We had a great family ski trip! Close to Breckenridge, like 20 minutes. Hot tub was clean, the kids loved playing all the games. We were not provided access info (or any info) so had to contact the property manager after 4pm but he was very responsive. The cabin is rustic but adorable. Plenty of space for even two families! It was just five of us and we had an empty room.
A family vacation for skiing and the spa. This place in Alma was far enough away from Breckenridge to provide a quiet area to congregate without crowds but close enough to enjoy the popular ski town. This home was beautiful, big, open spacious...when my kids entered the home they said "Wow, this place is nice!" Need I say more?

Sad vacation.
The cabin was very dirty. We were missing the propane gas, the sheds and bedspreads were dirty, the cooking pans was very old all our food was stuck to I, many spiders and mice all over the place. My friends and I were disappointed as we expected a better stay for the cost of the three nights.
LET ME JUST SAY IT WAS A WOW PROPERTY AS SOON AS WE SAW IT. WE REALLY ENJOYED ALL THE SURROUNDING WILD LIFE. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR CABIN WITH US. I DO RECOMMEND TO CHANGE OUT THE DOUBLE BEDS BECAUSE THE MATTERESSES CAVE IN. MY TWO TEENAGERS ENDED UP PREFERING TO SLEEP ON THE COUCHES. OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS AN AMAZING VACATION.
Perfect location, really nice cabin. Better than a hotel any day.
First off I would like to thank VRBO and the owner for always being available, informative, and making sure our stay was the best it could be. We all had such a great time in Breckenridge, Alma, Frisco, and FairPlay. All the pointers were very helpful and time saving. I would definitely rent this cabin again.
First day we timed from Breckenridge to the cabin. Took 17 minutes. On a couple snowy days probably took 25 minutes but were coming down around the bends like 10-25 mph because of the conditions. The point is not really that far.
Awesome views at the cabin. Away from most people/traffic/noise. Peaceful. We were able to park 2 SUVs and a car on top of driveway near road. It was icy/snowy and hard to walk down to cabin. But this is the area and you will have to deal with that just about anywhere in the area. Saw a guy right outside of our restaurant in Breckenridge fall and bust his head on the sidewalk. The EMTs said third one today. Best to wear good traction boots and take your time.
Definitely recommend if coming reserve ahead of time the dogsledding and snowmobiling. This was such great fun for all.
We really loved the cabin and area. We will be back.
This cabin is absolutely gorgeous. It was great for my whole family. It kept my kids, ages 10, 14, 16 and 17, entertained the entire time. There is ping pong, a couple of board games, chess, giant jenga and a few books to keep you busy. It sits down a small hill so the snow beside the cabin was thick and fun. There are snow shovels and a couple of sleds sitting outside. They had hours of fun sliding down the hills right outside the cabin door. The couches pictured in the living room have been upgraded to nice and super comfortable brown leather furniture. It is very spacious. Communication with the owner was spot on. If he tells you not to park down the driveway…. Please listen. My husband did not. It was impossible for us to get back up. We had to get an uber to take us to Walmart to buy chains for the tires of our rear-wheel drive we rented for our stay. Worked perfectly. Everything you need is about a 15-20 minute drive away. The cabin itself was very private with only one other cabin in view. The only downfall to staying here were the beds. They are all rock hard. I caught a couple of my teenagers sleeping on the couches in the living room. The master is upstairs with the entry from the kitchen and its own small porch. Three bedrooms downstairs with 2 having 2 double beds and one with a nice size bed. Overall this cabin was exactly what we needed. I’m glad I chose this for our vacation.
THE BURIED CABIN IN THE WOODS - DIG YOUR WAY TO THE DOOR DAILY - ALSO GET YOUR vehicle stuck
I would love to post pictures of the truth about this place. When we arrived the front driveway and path all the way to the door was under 3-5 feet of snow. We had to dig our way to the front door in a small path. Then to get here you must drive down a road that looks like a tube snow slide and your car WILL slide and get stuck. We had 4 wheel drive and chains. I received a message from the owner hours before arrival telling us their was limited parking area and we might get towed. It took all of us digging the vehicle in and out to get to this place sliding between trees. The message also said they were put out of town and to contact someone else for help for a charge. We had to checkout 2 days early due to the dangerous conditions before the storm was even heading that direction. I messed the owner and they said they couldnt do anything except give me a credit for another time. I spent over 2,400 on only a couple nights here since we couldn't safely get in and out. The owners were rude and offered no help or support. They said no refunds. If you stay here be warned.... you must have chains 4 wheel drive, a shovel and enjoy digging and pushing your car. Plus humping all luggage about 80 feet through a path to the front door that YOU will have to dig for yourself.

We work hard to make our guests happy. The review is not about the house; we believe it is about the blizzard that came in.(That is God)
Before checking in, the home was plowed and housekeepers cleared a path. But, as we mentioned in a message before checking in, there is a large storm in the area. So we shared that we could offer a credit later.
But the guests decided to make the drive and stay. Our staff had never heard of departing early until our agent texted them that new guests were checking in on the same day they would have checked out.
Given how many roads were closed, we would have been happy to have the driveway plowed again if asked.
We do not pay for towing; it is up to the guests to rent or provide the appropriate vehicle. We have a list, such as bringing a shovel, chains, salt, sand, and so on, just in case. Also a local tow guy that offers a discount.
The next guests were also informed of the storm and had a great time while understanding that we have no control over the weather. They were also offered a credit, but drove the long way around.
Finally, the agent offered a credit for the two nights to be used at another time, which we declined or never replied to.
So please to future guests judge the home for yourself and not based on a review based on the weather. God bless you all and be safe.
Great for family, friends and getting off the grid. Beautiful star lit sky at night and loved the hot tub. Could use better mattresses on the queen beds and pool table is very worn but otherwise we found it perfect for our 3 night stay.
Super fun property, great location with views, couldn’t have asked for a better place

Nice quiet getaway but just average
Property was as described but lacked in maintenance and upkeep. We enjoyed the deck, playing corn hole and we utilized the grill for cooking. Deck and chairs could use some maintenance. We were disappointed when we could not enjoy the pool table, ping pong, darts and checkers. All were missing items. Cleanliness was average. Windows were very dirty. Hot tub was nice.

Thank you so much for choosing to stay at our cabin! VRBO doesn't always share the exact details of what you've written with us, which makes it a bit hard to reply to any specific points you might have mentioned. Because of that, the main thing we want to share is a huge thank you for being our guest!
Our team works hard to make sure all of our guests are happy and comfortable. Since we didn't receive any calls, emails, or texts after our initial welcome message and check in text, we assumed everything was going perfectly. We know you are on vacation, and we really hate to bug our guests when it's not needed, so you can just relax and enjoy your time.
We hope you had a wonderful trip. If we can ever help host you again in the future, please don't hesitate to reach out you have our direct contact info. We’d love to welcome you back!
