Come stay in a cozy, newly remolded, authentic 1886 Cabin. Located on a private dead end street. Views of a 32-acer farm and mountains. This one bedroom one bathroom cabin is the perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It has a fully remodeled Kitchen and Bathroom. This cabin was built in 1886 and has so much charm. Also on the property is a stone building that was built in the 1930s. The stones are etched with the location the stones came from. One from every county in WV, along with some other unique locations. Another piece of history is located right in front of the cabin, it's one of the only 2 remaining columns from the original state Captial that burnt down in 1921.

Cabin was very clean, bed was comfy and the shower was new and worked very well. Host was very communicative and check in was easy. The location was great for visiting the National Park and it was quite a unique place to stay, which we love! Felt like we took a step back in time for a few days!

Awesome Getaway

This cabin is great. From check in to check out everything was as stated and cabin was great. I would definitely stay here a again. Only a few miles from main entrance to New River Gorge, and Thurmond. Easy drive to all other parts of the National Park. We even got in a few State Parks and 1 Battlefield. And dog friendly was the icing on the cake.

Historic cabin

The cabin is very cozy and clean. We stayed two nights and enjoyed ourselves. It’s set in a neighborhood and we weren’t expecting that but it was quiet and once inside still felt like a get away.

Cozy, quiet cabin

the cabin was so cozy, comfortable and so inviting. It was rainy when we were there or we would have liked to enjoy the back yard fire pit. There was lots of history about it, I found very interesting.

It was a great place

The cabin was super spacious, and very cute. Good water pressure in the shower. The cabin was SO clean! Plenty of paper towels, tissues, toilet paper etc. it is a great location, close to the park and close to restaurants.

We were late arriving at the property. Check in is at 4 we got there at 5 and a person was coming out of the cabin. Host said it was the "housekeeper" bringing over clean washcloths. I thought ok, towels and washcloths should have been in cabin (2 washcloths, 3 hand towels and 1 bath towel!) but when I opened the door the musty smell was overwhelming. You couldn't open the windows because of the age of the cabin. The smell comes from the nasty filter in the portable ac unit that sits inside the front door. I swiped the filter one time with a paper towel, and it was dirty with dust and hair. To say the cabin has ac is an understatement, the bedroom def does not. Thank God for the ceiling fan. There is an outside light attached to the garage that never goes off. Pretty sure the light can be seen from space. The bedroom window faces that way. There are no blinds on the window. Oh, I always like a good mop bucket in my bedroom! What really worried me is that you can't take a shower and use the stove at the same time which is an obvious electrical issue. THERE ARE NO SMOKE DETECTORS IN A 200 YEAR OLD WOODEN HOUSE! Sure all the reviews say the cabin is "cozy"......that is about all will give it!

Peaceful

This was one of the best places I have stayed! It was quiet. It was peaceful. Perfect place to disconnect and just be. I did not turn on the tv at all. as an added bonus, I saw a shooting star. Book this cozy cabin and you will not regret it.

Preserving History!

Humble and cozy restored cabin, sits adjacent to another structure, fascinating in is own right! The story is printed and can be read once inside the cabin. Clean and comfortable with plenty of amenities. Quiet location & easily accessible. The owners were friendly and very accommodating! Great location for anyone traveling to New River Gorge National Park, Hawks Nest and Babcock State Parks!! WV is an awesome see!! 💙💛
