The Bluenose House offers an overwhelming panoramic view to the south of the sparkling sea and the offshore islands. Several generations, couples, water sports enthusiasts will enjoy the tranquility and the view of the protective islands. Not a single building or wind turbine disturbs the view of the landscape protection area.
A staircase leads from the Bluenose house directly to the private fine pebble beach on a small footbridge for the kayaks or to the sandy beach of the house Yellownose.
Both houses can be rented from June to December for approx. 165 euros per day with 4 people (max. 6) in the low season from approx. 110 euros, plus final cleaning and 15% tax. Both non-smoking houses are built according to European standards (additional 220V sockets) and biologically allergy-friendly.
We have traveled for years, sailed more than 10,000 miles from the Mediterranean through the Caribbean and Bermuda to our new home in Canada and saw beautiful islands along the way. But Cape Breton's natural unspoilt beauty has surpassed it all. In 15 years we have seen nothing more beautiful from water and land than this magical place. Hundreds of enthusiastic guest book entries document on our website that our guests also feel the incomparable specialty of this location. Since we immigrated in 2012, we can undertake sailing or fishing trips in your language and give the best tips if desired.
In Continental U. S. and Canada, Cape Breton was named the No. 1 top island in the renowned travel magazine “Travel & Leisure” in 2011, the third most beautiful island in the world and in 2014 one of the 10 most romantic islands in the world.
No house, no power line, nothing disturbs the breathtaking panoramic view from the Bluenose House. Occasionally, friendly lobster fishermen greet with an Irish, French accent and tell of their immigrant, sometimes German ancestors. Supermarkets and hospital can be reached in a few minutes. We like to go to the nearby wonderfully protected bays with our fishing boat and show our guests the magic of the forests and coasts from the sea, see eagles, seals, hummingbirds, often also whales, and enjoy the fish we have caught ourselves.
The light is more intense here than anywhere else in the world, the colors are more brilliant, you have to let Nova Scotia work its magic on you. The coasts are deeply cut with countless bays and fjords. The island of Cape Breton in the northeast with the Bras d`Or Lake (twice the size of Lake Constance) offers crystal-clear water and excellent fishing opportunities. People love their traditions. Scottish bagpipe or Irish fiddle music is played on every occasion. There are Scottish highland festivals and tap courses. The French Akadiers are happy about a "Bon Jour", but they all speak English.
Nova Scotia is different. Special, very lovable, wild and lovely at the same time. The landscape is often compared to the Scandinavian countries, slightly mountainous, green, crossed by lakes and large forest areas with elk, bear and lynx. Nova Scotia is on the same level as Bordeaux (45. Latitude), which probably explains the warm summers. The int. Airport Halifax is e.g. B. from Frankfurt with Condor in 6-7 hours directly and from there it goes on with intercity buses or rental cars 3 hours relaxed to the houses.
