Whispering Falls Cabin - hot tub, views, 15 acres, minutes from Main St.

LOG CABIN | MOUNTAIN VIEWS | HI-SPEED INTERNET | HOT TUB | COFFEE BAR | FIRE PIT

Let the sounds of the waterfall lull you to sleep at Whispering Falls Cabin! This log cabin on a private 15 acres seems miles away from it all, but it is only 3 miles to downtown Saluda and 5 miles to downtown Tryon.

Nestled in the trees high on a ridge, you'll have spectacular sunrise and sunset mountaintop views. Sit on the rocking chair front porch for the best sunset views, while the back deck and screened in porch off the master bedroom are the best places for sunrise. The deck is also the best place to listen to the sounds of the spectacular waterfall located behind the house (not on property.) Sometimes the falls are a whisper, but after a good rain, they roar!

The house has a soaring great room complete with stone fireplace, a coffee bar and a vintage canoe as a chandelier! A fully stocked kitchen and large dining table is perfect for family gatherings or a group of friends. Three bedrooms and two baths on the main level sleep up to six. The cozy sitting area has been designed for fireside conversation, but there is also a 65" smart tv for movie watching or streaming. WE NOW HAVE BLAZING FAST FIBER INTERNET SERVICE!

The daylight basement features a bunk room with 4 twin beds, a full bath, and its own sitting area with smart tv. Explore the game center in the metal lockers and discover books, cards, and games perfect for entertaining kids and adults alike. A wet bar with mini-fridge can hold snacks and drinks. Cornhole boards and bags are provided!

Just steps away from the basement doors is the full sized hot tub. Situated to take in the easterly views, it's another great spot to watch the sun rise.

Hwy 176 is one of the most beautiful drives in western NC, and a popular road for biking enthusiasts. Choose your route up the Saluda pass, or take the easier route into town via Pearson Falls Dr. Either way, highway access is right at the bottom of the driveway.

4WD/AWD/FrontWD vehicles STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to navigate the 500 yard driveway up to the house. The gravel drive is well maintained but steep and rear wheel drive cars can lose traction. In times of inclement weather an AWD vehicle is mandatory for safety.

A number of hiking trails are within 10 minutes of the house. Pearson Falls and Melrose Falls are each within 1 mile. We provide a list of hikes and attractions in the welcome email when you book.

Perfect getaway for the holiday

We had a beautiful stay! So thankful the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The cabin was so cozy, the beds were comfy, and the porch offered views from every side. We ventured out a lot! Saluda and Hendersonville had plenty of touristy activities

Beautiful

This is a great cabin for any family. Beautiful, clean, and plenty of room. We never had any issues with our stay. It was very easy contacting the owner, who is very responsive, when we had any concerns or questions. Easy access to all the major towns from this cabin. There was 4 adults and 4 children who stayed and we all enjoyed this cabin very much and made some great memories!

If you owned your own mountain house

This is a very comfortable cabin in a beautiful setting. The house fit our family perfectly with room to spare - two adult couples, and two children 2 and 8. If I owned a mountain house, this one would be insiration. The owners were very helpful when called upon (we added an extra night) yet allowed us to enjoy their home privately. We loved the area (Skytop Orchard, Jeter Mountain, two waterfalls within a mile, etc.) and the people we met.

Amazing Views and Space

We truly enjoyed the cabin tucked away in the woods. Every morning brought a new sunrise to cherish. I was traveling with 8 college students and the cabin made for a great home base to explore white water rafting, rock climbing, hiking and the US National Whitewater Center. We especially were impressed with the little touches that made this cabin so perfect. Everything was great. We did struggle with the driveway due to having a 15 passenger rear wheel van but the dry weather made it all passable. I would love to bring my family back. It is a gorgeous and clean cabin.

Secluded spot near Saluda

A wonderfully quiet and secluded cabin very near the town of Saluda. The house is 1/4 of a mile off the main road. There's are two great porches, front and back, for looking out over the mountains without any other house in sight. (Great birdwatching spots!) Three main bedrooms on the 1st floor. Bunk bed room downstairs gives kids their own space. Trips into the town of Saluda--for breakfast at Wild Flour Bakery or dinner at the Purple Onion or Azalea Bistro--were very easy. Nearby hiking at Pearson's Falls is fabulous. Also not too far of a drive to hiking off of the Saluda Mountains Passage trail. All in all, a great house with very attentive and helpful owners!

Mountain getaway

This is a truly fantastic property. We can with three generations, late 60s, mid-40s and early 20s and everyone had a great time. The short hike to the waterfall is an absolute must but may not be accessible to mobility limited individuals(as listed). My 68 year old mother made it no problem but my 69 year old mobility limited father had to give it a pass. The house is clean and well furnished and stocked with plenty of dishes/games/wood for fire, everything. You can walk 360 degrees around the house and not see one other home…..simply breath taking. I highly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful home and location

Heard repeatedly by several to many of our group throughout the weekend: “The view is stunning no matter which direction you look!” Quiet and peaceful, the stunning views from Whispering Falls Cabin were truly breathtaking. Other comments from our clan: “Everything you’d want in a Home away from home.” “ I loved everything, it was a great place.” “It was beautiful, homey, welcoming, well stocked, clean….” “An authentic log cabin, nestled among God's glorious trees.” (The driveway is steep as described in the listing but with the driveway gravel leveled out, AWD/4WD and front wheel drive vehicles are adequate. Don’t hesitate to use the gas pedal to make the climb. :)

Outstanding House

We booked this home over a holiday weekend with some friends of ours. Combined we had four adults and six kids (ages 3-9). The house was clean, well maintained, and spacious. The kids basically had the downstairs for themselves TV, Bunk beds, games... And the adults (and youngest kid) were upstairs. The house was well stocked (I think the cookware could be upgraded to non-stick/dishwasher safe - but that's minor). Plenty of dishes and glasses and fridge space. We were there on a very rainy weekend so we spent a whole day in the house and it was pleasant. When we did get a rain-free day, however, wow. The views were beautiful! The fire pit was fun (bring camp chairs if you can, the stumps can be uncomfortable for extended times). The kids loved running around and playing. It was great. In the area we went to town (Saluda) for dinner and one time crossed the border into SC for BBQ. We went hiking (on the non-rainy day) and saw some beautiful waterfalls. One warning. If the weather isn't perfect, a front-wheel drive car may not be enough. We had two cars, an AWD and a FWD minivan. With all the wet leaves on the driveway, the minivan could not get to the house (until the rain stopped and we could clear the way). Once it was clear, the FWD was fine. Best way I can sum it up is as we were leaving, everyone was talking about "the next time we come here..." That's a great sign. Thank you for a great weekend!

Beautiful & peaceful

Fantastic cabin in a secluded ridge top area. All amenities provided, which made for a very relaxing stay. You really can hear the soft sounds of a distant waterfall, which made outdoor chilling very pleasant. Very nice living room area.Owner communication was excellent and fast. The narrow, gravel road up a steep incline is not for the faint-hearted -- take their advice and make sure you have 4WD!

Beautiful home in the mountains

The house was perfect and peaceful! Drive up was a little bit difficult but we did it with a minivan. The house was very well decorated, my teens enjoyed looking at the antiques. The bedrooms were comfortable and clean, and the bedding was great! The kitchen was great, had everything you could need! Everything in the house was well thought out! oh and the hot tub was hot! Our biggest pet peeve is a luke warm hot tub.. ;) And the views and peacefulness was 5*** Pearson Falls was closed, but we took a great day trip along the green river, and hung out in downtown Saluda. We also took a short trip, about 30 minutes to triple falls, worth the hike! Get there early on the weekend bc the parking lot fills up!! You won't regret renting this house!!!

Great Weekend Getaway

The cabin was in a beautiful location, very calm, and a great place to relax. Check-in was very easy and the owners were extremely communicative. The interior was very clean and adequately stocked with towels, basic kitchen supplies, and games. The only thing missing was a game room that a lot of similar cabins have (e.g. pool table, arcade system). Overall, highly recommended!

Cozy home away from home

Whispering Falls Cabin was perfect for our family of six. The views were beautiful and the location was great for visiting surrounding areas. The stocked kitchen, gave us the flexibility to cook several meals. The atmosphere is cozy, clean and comfortable; we enjoyed having fires and relaxing together when we weren’t busy with excursions or activities. The hosts were helpful and very friendly.
