Crystal Sands, an intimate, three-story, quiet property. These two gulf-front, low-rise condominium buildings are located in Destin's Crystal Beach area. The unit that faces the dazzling, white, sand beaches views directly on the Gulf of Mexico.

Spacious and private, decorated with comfort in mind. The condominium buildings are located near the heart of Destin. You will find lots to do both day and night. Crystal Sands is one of the special places that you want to keep to yourself yet can't stop to talk about.

You deserve the best and the best is Crystal Sands on the beach. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself like a king or a queen, lay down on the beach and just be lazy. Come to the sugar, white beaches of the Emerald coast. Look out on the beautiful sun, surf, and sand not the parking lot or street. Listen to the waves not the passing traffic.

Have breakfast on the balcony with only the sugar, white sand between you and the blue waters of Mexico. Sun and stroll on the beach or grab a wave runner and see how high you can fly.

Crystal Sands is less than a mile from the famous designer's outlet mall, Silver Sands outlet mall. Do not forget about shopping there!

My unit is on the second floor of the new building, east side establishment, building B. The unit has a master bedroom which has a king-size bed. There are two bunk beds in the hallways. The living room has a queen-size sleeper sofa.

Crystal Sands is located away from the congestion of downtown Destin yet only minutes away from all the day and evening attraction.

It’s directly on the beach 2nd floor one bedroom and a bunk bed for two kiddos two bathrooms with only one tub/shower. I was pleased with the condo just needed one more shower with a family of 4.

The property is in need of definite updates and repairs. Bathroom doors don’t close properly and need to be replaced. Neither bathroom vent fan worked, commode seat in half bath simply needs to be replaced. Light bulbs out in both bathrooms. The laminate on the kitchen counter was not properly glued down. Overall cleanliness, honestly couldn’t tell if the unit needed to be cleaned or the baseboards and nooks and crannies just needed a fresh coat of paint. The mattress could really stand to be replaced as well. We always stay at Crystal Sands, but never this unit. It was a last minute trip and this unit was the only unit available on the 2nd floor.

The rooms were not cleaned had to wait 2hrs for late check in all electrical plugs were so old and wore out that the cords wouldn’t stay in. Vacuum did not work 1roll of toilet paper. had terrible time getting code to get in Overall very dissatisfied

Astonishing view, good apartment.

The view is wonderful, and the apartment has an excellent location. The master bedroom needs a ceiling light, and the window blind needs to be fixed; it doesn't roll up.

Long weekend stay for myself & my husband. Absolutely gorgeous views!!! Conveniently located right on the beach & close to everything we needed. Basic accommodations that fit us perfectly. Will return & definitely recommend.

Wonderful view and clean condo. Was a great stay.

Loved being right on the ocean and having a pool! Was so great to go back n forth and parking was great. Was a clean and smelled great! Lots of space and we enjoyed ourselves so much! Great balcony and view of the ocean and nice and quiet. No loud neighbors that was a huge plus. Thanks for the great stay!

The condo itself was ok. There was no air conditioning at all, however and the owner was terrible at communication. We spent 3 nights in an 80* condo and ended up leaving one day early just to sleep in a cool bed. This is not the condo you want to be in for vacation.

Great Location

This is on the beach, so from the balcony is an unobstructed view of the clear, blue water of Gulf and the white sugar sand beach. It takes about 1 minute to walk from the room to the beach. No streets to cross or parking space to find. Neighborhood is also great for walking. Sidewalks take you to beautiful homes in the area. Several shops and restaurants are easy to walk to at less than a mile away from condo. The furnishings inside condo are not 5 star, but this is at a much better price than the recently updated rooms at same location. A few inexpensive fixes to room would help tremendously.

Worst place I've ever booked with VRBO

Incredibly innaccurate description. The condo smells so bad of mold that you can barely breath and probably shouldn't. The beach that is in front of the condo is beside a public beach access so you will have VERY crowded beaches with no room for your own chairs and are not actually allowed to put up your own umbrella. No hot water either.

Great vacation despite challenges with property / property owner

Great: Location right on the beach. Beach was beautiful white sand for miles in either direction; water had red flag warnings when we were there but would be very swimmable. Good: Unit layout was good with small kitchen, a bedroom, bunk beds, two bathrooms, laundry and a deck. Bad: Unit was dated with carpet, couch, and chairs that could use a good cleaning. Minor issues with unit maintenance such as missing toilet paper roller and broken shelf in refrigerator that were addressed by onsite manager. We had messaged the owner prior to our stay with a question about beach towels and other beach equipment and were told that there was beach service available for $30-40 / day for two chairs and an umbrella (no towels). Be aware that this is actually $50 / day and we were informed by the beach service team that this is one of the few units that does not include this in their price. Ugly: Check-in process was a nightmare. Owner messaged that unit would not be ready at the published time due to cleaning crew that was behind schedule, but no communication was provided about when it would be ready despite multiple requests for updates. Finally got into unit 2.5 hours after expected check-in time. When we unpacked, there were only two hangers available for a week’s worth of clothing and the absolute worst was that a drawer in the dresser had a used latex glove and miscellaneous trash that looked like opened and unopened packets (our thoughts went to condoms or drugs, but we didn’t want to examine it). When we reported this, the owner sent an extremely condescending message back that we should just clean out the drawer, that this is ‘condo living’ and to not let it ruin our vacation. These issues were not rectified until the following day, so we had to take time out of the next day of vacation to ensure that the issues were taken care of. Overall: This was our first VRBO experience and I’m not sure if we’ll ever use VRBO again. On top of this poor experience, the owner messaged us when we returned that we were being charged an extra $95 VRBO fee. Good customer service would have waived this fee (and frankly more) due to the issues experienced at check-in, but this owner was extremely tone deaf. We definitely won’t be staying at this or any other property owned by this person. My brother stayed at a unit in the same building on the same floor and it was beautiful… recently renovated, great furniture in the condo and on the deck, AND included the beach service.

Dirty, Broken, Smelly, Unsafe Condo.

We’ve stayed in at least a dozen Crystal Sands condos and we found this unit so dirty, broken down, foul smelling and riddled with dangerous conditions that we were unable to stay more than a single night. Contacted the owner who offered excuses for the disaster we found but made no attempt to remedy any of the issues we encountered.

The place is a great location. The condo does need some updates regarding old fixtures like the rusty mirrored closet in one of the bathrooms and the worn out shower/tub faucet and spicket. The place itself was clean. The only cumbersome part was not receiving access information until less than 24 hours to check in. A mesaage was sent to the host with no response the day prior before a phone call to him with no answer and it stated i was unable to leave a voicemail. I had to contact VRBO via phone and they were able to get a hold of him and i received a message in my inbox shortly after they contacted him. I book/stay often with other hosts and this is not the typical experience I receive. I was not given an explanation from the host but I was happy that VRBO was able to resolve the issue for me. No other issues occurred during this stay.

Water heater didn’t work well so we only had like warm water for 5 minutes. Garbage disposal did not work. The room reeked of marijuana. The room wasn’t bad overall, location was good and beach was relatively quiet.

Love the Location!!

The location is close to everything and the water is just beautiful. However, the unit we stayed in could use some upgrades and it wasn't very clean. Some of the serving utensils as well as the eating utensils still had food on them. The chair had hair on it and the microwave worked but looked awful inside. Could use a fresh coat of paint and some deep cleaning.

4.5 hours late with our room but no refund

Our check in was at 4:00. The owner called about 4:30-5:00 (we were stuck in traffic) to tell us the room hadn't been cleaned and he was looking for someone to do it. We got in the room at 8:30. Also one of the sheets was DIRTY. Not stained! Dirty! I washed it and the "stain" came out! So how much did the cleaning guy actually do??? After speaking to the owner asking for a partial refund for the day, he said VRBO has rules and he'd have to ask them. I spoke to VRBO, and they told me refunds were solely at his discretion. I asked nicely MANY times, but he stopped replying to me. We love Crystal Sands and have stayed in several rooms in both units. This one was by far the least renovated but cost as much as the others. I could have lived with the lack of updates, but we got 3 1/2 hours on Saturday night and paid full price for that day. We will NOT be back there, and I would HIGHLY discourage others from going. The reply will be interesting.

NASTY UNIT STAY AWAY!!!!!!

This unit was out dated to say the less nasty,dirty! We drove 12 hours to get here from Texas so it was late when we showed up. The floors were dirty and sandy the kitchen table legs were broke the coffe maker had old filter with coffee and mold that had turned brown so it had to have been left there for a long time! The freezer had rust. The sofa bed was so thin had rust and dirt on mattress. There was mold in the main bathroom around the tub shower curtain was full of mold. There was no mop or broom. When contacting the owner about this all he had to say was that the cleaning lady must have over looked some things and if she was in town she would stop by and change out shower curtain well that never happened!! Are you kidding me!!!!!!We ended up going to the store to buy a mop and broom along with cleaning supplies to get this place in order after telling the owner we would like some type of refund for all of this mess we had to do and go through when this was our vacation of course he dodged that all together! And we got locked out of our unit at one point went to the office they said they could not help us because that unit is not one that they serve 😱 They have a HOA on site we talked to them they tired calling the owner sent a email and no response so my husband said I will climb the balcony to get to our unit and this is what he did !!! So the code is so long that you either need to have a good memory or write it down or times So please read reviews on this property

Ok propoerty

We enjoyed our time in Destin. We will stay somewhere else. Walls are paper thin, you can hear every single word of conversations happening all around the property. Furniture was so dirty and quite a few items in the unit was falling apart.
