This was the second time our family stayed at this lovely property. There was plenty of room for the eleven of us (ages ranging from six months to 64) to spread out and plenty of things to keep everyone entertained. The kitchen is great for cooking and especially for serving a group!
Thank you for a wonderful stay, we absolutely enjoyed your beautiful home. Definitely a place to relax and to make everlasting memories with the family.

Perfect, Crystal. This is exactly what we strive for -- lasting family memories from relaxing and enjoying one another in beautiful settings. Please come again any time.
This place comfortably accommodated our group of 12 with a couple of beds to spare & plenty of space! The views from the decks & windows that overlook the green meadows & forested slopes of Cox Canyon were a feast for these desert-dwellers’ eyes!
We loved your cabin. We liked it was very remote and private. We enjoyed the scenic views and spacious cabin overall. We only saw that there were a lot dead flys near every window and dvd movies were not in their correct dvd box. Maybe an upgrade on the grill outside. But this place is awesome! Thank you.
Our family had a wonderful memory-making Easter weekend in your beautiful, spacious, comfortable mountain retreat.

We love to hear this, Rochelle, that your family had a wonderful memory-making weekend at our special place in the mountains. We hope you will come again.
We had an amazing weekend at this cozy cabin! The location is peaceful and surrounded by nature, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The cabin was clean, well-stocked, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Plenty of space for our group and the kids had a blast. Would definitely book again!
Amazing location! Host was excellent! Property was clean! Area is remote, make sure you have entry info before arriving. You may not have cell phone service until entering the cabin/wifi.
Beautiful property, views are spectacular. House was clean and kitchen well stocked. It was a wonderful place to enjoy family and we would highly recommend this home.

The house was perfect for our stay! Plenty room to accommodate 4 couples and a few children. Many amenities within the house and a gorgeous location. Don’t think we could’ve found a better place to enjoy. Spent a lot of time at the large kitchen island chatting and enjoying each others company.

Thank you for your review, Sarah. It sounds like you had exactly the kind of family experience we strive to support. Please come again anytime.
The Mystic Lodge is a great place for a family vacation! We spent 3 nights and just had a wonderful time every day. There is something for everyone there, big decks to enjoy the cool mountain air, pool tables and foosball for some enjoyment, TV area with a nice couch and tons of movies to relax with. There is also plenty of wildlife, we saw mule deer, elk, squirrels, chipmunks, and plenty of beautiful stellars Jay's flying through the trees. Highly recommend staying here, only wish we could have stayed longer!
Loved the place. The property was easy to access. Beautiful scenery. The house was clean and super spacious. Lots of things included to entertain the whole family. Fully equipped with all thing necessary for daily living. Great place overall 👌.

Thanks Lucia. With over 600 DVDs, Foosball, Air Hockey, Pool Table, board games and card games, it's very difficult to get bored at Mystic Forest Lodge after an adventure-filled day of exploring 89+ miles of trails in the immediate vicinity and hanging out in the quaint little village of Cloudcroft all day long! Yeah, we love it there, too! Please come again!

Michael: My wife, Emily, and I love to travel, experience other cultures, meet new people, see new places and have adventures. We have 3 grown children, 2 of whom have college degrees in French and Linguistics while the other has a degree in Biology. My wife and I have studied French, Italian and a little German. We come from Texas, but my wife and I lived 2 years in northern Italy (Arona! Right on Lago Maggiore!) for my job, and then 2 more years in the east of England (Dereham, near Norwich). I am a recently retired Senior Staff Research Scientist, and my wife is a retired schoolteacher (5th-grade science). We own 2 short-term rental properties in Cloudcroft, New Mexico — this one that sleeps 15 guests (Mystic Forest Lodge) and one that sleeps 6 to 8 (Mystic Mountain Lodge). We love people and we love making people feel at home.
Emily: I am a retired science teacher living in Texas. I have an Etsy business that keeps me busy (etsy.com/shop/EmsItalianGems)! My husband, Michael, and I love to travel and stay in short-term rentals. Though we are both retired, we are kept quite busy hosting our wonderful guests at Mystic Forest Lodge and Mystic Mountain Lodge. We are really enjoying this new adventure!
Why they chose this property
We were looking for a cabin in the quaint little village of Cloudcroft when we discovered this chalet. We wanted a place of our own in the beauty of these mountains, as well as the access from the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and to the Grand Canyon and beyond. This chalet was the perfect fit for our frequent escapes to Cloudcroft as well as trips through Cloudcroft to other places. And it made a perfect vacation rental to help support us in our adventures. Similar to our other mountain cabin in the area, Mystic Mountain Lodge, the majesty of the wildlife around the chalet, the mystique of the wind blowing through the forest, the intrigue of the clouds flying too low and getting caught in the trees, the beauty of the sunrise filtering through the woods on crisp mornings, and the awesomeness of the Milky Way stretching overhead at night with billions of stars gleaming in unmatched brightness against the darkest sky, inspires a sense of mystery, awe and fascination. This is why we had to name our new home Mystic Forest Lodge.
What makes this property unique
A somewhat remote, yet very accessible location very near to the village of Cloudcroft, Mystic Forest Lodge offers very spacious accommodations for up to 15 guests (remember, infants are precious guests, too), and plenty to do with family meals, pool, movies and games. When you are finished exploring Cloudcroft, White Sands National Moment, or the more than 80 trails through these beautiful mountains, and the night has just gotten so dark, you can come settle in for family night with movies and games, or just relax outside on two large decks with your loved ones.
