Whether you want to splash in the river, play some volleyball or just relax by the pool Lightning Bug has something to offer everyone.
Lightning Bug Springs Retreat is the perfect destination; 15 acres of beautiful property nestled along the banks of the Dry Frio. Don`t let the name `Dry` fool you, though. There is a quaint swimming hole just steps away. The property has LOTS to offer with an outdoor pavillion that has a fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen has a concession style window and a big screen TV, swimming pool, a large fire pit, volleyball net, tire swings, horse shoes, soccer goals and large shade trees for enjoying nature. In the evening watch the sun set while the deer graze in the field.
The entire retreat sleeps 46; with 37 beds & 10.5 baths. There are 2 houses; The Lodge & Rio Vista, 2 cabins; The Lone Star & Gone Fishin` along with the Cowboys & Indians Bunkhouse.
The Lodge is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house that sleeps 6 (1 king, 2 doubles) with a fully equipped kitchen, a large dining room and living room. It is beautifully decorated and has a large front porch over looking the river.
Rio Vista is a 3 bedroom 2 bath house that sleeps 8 (1 king, 1 double & 2 bunks). It has a fully equipped kitchen, large living room and large dining table. Rio Vista has an amazing deck that overlooks the river.
The 2 cabins on the property, Lone Star & Gone Fishin` both offer 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. The Lone Star Cabin sleeps 6; 2 Doubles & 1 Bunkbed. The Gone Fishin` Cabin sleeps 6; 2 Doubles and 1 Bunkbed. Both cabins have fully equipped kitchens, livings rooms with Tv/satellite.

The Cowboys & Indians Bunkhouse both offer 5 bunks (10 total) Sleeps 20 and 1 bath. Each bathroom has 2 showers and 2 toilets.
Amenities include a large pavilion, perfect for a large gathering. The pavillion has a fully equipped kitchen with a concession style window for easily serving food. It also offers a large screen TV with satellite and several picnic tables.
The pool is a perfect place to hang out on a hot, sunny day. The pool is shared with 3 other houses that are on the property.
After a day in the sun, the large fire pit is a wonderful place to gather around for a night under the stars. Tire swings can be found throughout the property. If you`re up for a game up volleyball or soccer we have you covered. If volleyball or soccer isn`t your thing maybe you can try your hand at horseshoes. Lightning Bug Springs has a little something for everyone.
Lightning Bug Springs Retreat is a wonderful place to host a family vacation, family reunion, corporate gathering, wedding or church retreat.
The property is far enough from the noise of the main river to experience a peaceful retreat, but just 8 miles from Concan and its quaint restaurants, quirky shops or to float the Frio.
Please note: We will provide Linens/ Towels for The Lodge, Rio Vista & the Cabins.
We DO NOT provide linens or towels for the bunkhouse.

Lightning Bug Springs has 4 homes and 2 bunkhouses on the property; it sleeps a total of 48; with 39 beds and 10.5 baths.

There is so much to do you don`t even have to leave the property. With hiking trails, a pool, soccer goals, volleyball net, tire swings, THE RIVER with a quaint swimming hole just steps away, the pavilion with a fully equipped kitchen and big screen tv, large fire pit and beautiful trees to just grab a book and relax under.
In the evening watch the deer roam the field. Lightning Bug Springs is a peaceful place in the hill country that I am sure you will love.

When you arrive you will be greeted at a private gate where you will put in a pin # to enter. Once you enter you can drop off all of your belongings in the cabins. We ask that once you have unloaded that you park in the designated area. No parking on grass, please.

Lightning Bug Springs is located at the end of a dirt road. The property is privately gated.

Lightning Bug Springs is only 8 miles to Concan where you can float the Frio river, visit one of the local shops or eat at one of the quaint restaurants. We highly suggest visiting Joe Jimmy`s for a night of dancing. The kids will have a blast.
Take all trash to the dumpster
Wash and Put away all Dishes in all houses and pavilion
Clean all grills, do ot leave ashes in grills
Do not move furniture around
Do not take white towels to the river
