This location provided everything it stated. It is wonderful for a family vacation, tons of room and has everything you need. The communication between the owners was great. Fantastic stay!!
We arrived and the place was very clean and a very nice place. I would recommend this VRBO to anyone looking in this area. The cabin was equipped with all of the cooking utensils, dishes, glasses etc you would need. the boys had a lot of fun on the paddle boat and the Kayaks and even caught several fish.
This beautiful home was spacious and comfortable. It was fully stocked with anything one could need, and the multiple outdoor seating areas offered great views of the peaceful lake.
Definitely will be going back! Very well-kept property and at home type amenities. Great place for a couple families with small children. The location is perfect!
The cabin is just like listed, very nice. We had a few minor issues with the lock & electrics, but the caretaker and owner were handy and very responsive.
Very clean and thought out property. Very direct checkin and checkout process. Wonderful kitchen and outdoor areas to have a relaxing hang out with friends.
We had a fun time as a family. There are sand toys, life jackets, a paddle boat. Fishing was great and a good experience for our boys that were fishing for the first time.
Our family of 6 adults and 1 toddler had a nice stay. This a very nice cabin on a great piece of property on a quiet lake. The cabin was a high end with lots of stone and very nice decor. There is an outstanding fire pit overlooking lake and the location is close to golf courses and the Cuyuna mtn bike park. Bass fishing on Crooked Lake was fantastic.
This house was wonderful for my family and friends to vacation together for the weekend. We had four adults and four kids ages 3-6. There were plenty of sleeping spaces both up and downstairs, and the kitchen was equipped with all the tools you need for cooking meals. The space was clean and cozy. We especially enjoyed the beautiful backyard and lake access. Our only regret is that we only booked for two nights!
We rented both houses which worked perfectly for us. The homes were beautifully appointed, top quality, and very well equipped. The home owners have thought of absolutely everything you could possibly need, bedding and towels were, outstanding, kitchen was well equipped, life jackets provided, loved the kayaks and paddle boat, toys and activites for the kids wonderful decorating. We were very impressed.
My wife kids were looking for a place to go to for all that Minnesota has to offer. This house was stunning!! We’ve stayed in a few places and this house was incredible. It is the perfect spot for snowmobiling and ice fishing which is why we went up. The house 2 spots down from the boat access and we will definitely be coming back here this summer. We were greeted by an awesome gift basket that started our stay off great! The host was incredibly responsive and answered all of our questions immediately. If you’re looking for an amazing place to stay with a view and all that MN has to offer look no further. We could not have been happier with our stay!!
I brought my family to this vrbo for a weekend. We loved the ability to sleep all of us with the use of pull out couches and an air mattress, having 3 full bathrooms was a huge plus and the decor was perfect for the location. We even used the fireplace for a bit because of a chilly last morning.
My parents and sister enjoyed the paddle boat. The kitchen appliances were all great—there’s even a coffee grinder! The one thing I’d suggest is supplying more coffee cups as well as bowls and spoons.
Would definitely come back to stay here, it was very cozy and spacious for our family. I’m also intrigued by the stone floor in the basement—it was very cool and am curious if it’s heated in the winter. Loved the winding staircase also.
This was a very nice property that was clean and updated. Bathrooms are wonderful if you have more adults. Bedrooms were lovely but pull out couch very uncomfortable - only negative that I would have. We really enjoyed our stay here and would come back again.
We had a wonderful stay! Everything was clean and well organized. Our group of 11 had plenty of space between the main house and the guest house. We enjoyed the beautiful view and peaceful surroundings.

About the host
Hosted by Heather Nissen
We are the Nissen family and together we own and manage Casa de Nissen. We are two sisters that own and manage the cabin rental alongside our husbands, young children and Father. We have spent our entire lives growing up at a cabin in this area and now have the opportunity to share that experience with others. Every part of your stay is an experience our family has curated and perfected for you over the years.
Why they chose this property
This cabin is not your average "cabin" experience in MN. Every inch of this home was remodeled anywhere between 1-8 years ago with custom and high end finishes. The layout was redesigned to create an experience for large or small families all year round. There are no shortage of bathrooms or storage amongst the custom designed cabin. The kitchen is what you expect in a high-end home. Custom concrete counters, stainless steel appliances and endless counter space.
The property's location on the hillside offers lake views that are breathtaking from any room inside the home. Given its hillside, the owners custom designed a concrete stairs with landing areas and bonfire pit to take advantage of the hillside and make for easy access to the lake.
What makes this property unique
The property is directly adjacent to the only Boat Access for the entire chain of lakes. Meaning if guests want to bring their own boat or bring a rental, the access is convenient. In the winter time, those that want to ice fish or snowmobile on the lake have great access from the boat landing as well.
