We stayed twice at the lake house and truly loved the experience. Even though it’s on the same property as the main house, we fully enjoyed our privacy. Judy was proactive and helpful, while also giving us plenty of space. The property is beautiful, and the hot tub under the starry sky is absolutely worth it. Lake Nacimiento is just a short walk away, and the whole region feels magical, full of nature and wildlife.
Was an amazing time. Host was welcoming and kind. Very attentive. Place was clean. Amazing view. Large lot for my pup to run around. Loved every second there.
We had a great time, even though the heat was terrible and we had to leave early. The property was adequate, a little bit of walking to the lake, but we really enjoyed the kayaking. Judy was awesome, thank you for the hospitality, we will come back.Tony and Kristen
Nowhere near anything, which was exactly what I wanted. Simple, quiet, and peaceful. Patio area is super luxe, great views, great sunrises, and awesome for stargazing.
Remote, yet still connected. Plan on staying in and just enjoying nature. With an hour drive to get to any services pay attention to host when they tell you to bring food and supplies. For my wife and I that worked great for this trip as that was exactly what we wanted. Host was great. Very welcoming and friendly while giving us our space. Dogs on property were well behaved and wonderful.
Great property, super accommodating and kind host. SUV was def helpful in getting around

Beautiful countryside drive to get there, beautiful setting. Nice owner, helpful, good communication. Cute little place and clean. We really enjoyed this place.
We had an absolutely amazing stay at this rental! From the moment we arrived, everything was just as described — clean, cozy, and incredibly peaceful. The best part, hands down, was the private access to the lake. We spent our time swimming, paddle boarding, fishing and just soaking in the tranquility. The house was well-stocked with everything we needed, from kitchen essentials to extra towels. The hosts were responsive and thoughtful, even assisting us with a flat tire.Whether you're looking for a romantic escape, a family vacation, or just a quiet place to unplug, this spot delivers. We left feeling refreshed and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!
We had such a great time at this beautiful retreat! It is a beautiful drive to the property with wonderful views the whole time! We enjoyed the space and how helpful the hosts were! I would definitely book again, I just wished we had booked it for longer!
The hosts were very communicative and helpful. The apartment is clean, well organized and spacious despite the small square footage. We were there during a very warm weekend but the air conditioning works great! It's a short drive to the lake where the hosts let you use the dock. My friend, my dog and I relaxed, read books and went swimming. The location is remote so be sure to bring what you need and plan to just hang out around the property and the lake. I rated it a 4 because while the apartment is well-kept it is a bit older and the location is remote. But the hosts were great and really generous with letting us use their dock and outside patio with a bbq. Overall a good experience.

Thank you for the nice review. It is not often you can stay somewhere for that price and have a fully equipped dock and 4000 sq ft outdoor cooking area.
As far as the age of the apartment it is only three years old and all the furnishings are only three years old.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Outstanding accommodations with everything there to ensure my comfort
The views are amazing and the accommodations were superb. Very tranquil and relaxing and I’m already looking forward to my next stay. It is pretty far up in the mountains but very much worth the journey of getting there. Aloha and Mahalo from a very satisfied guest.

Great guest, and we were glad to have her enjoy the property and the surrounding area.
Amazing property with breathtaking views overlooking the lake! This place had everything I was looking for and more. Mitch was a great host! I was very comfortable everything was clean and organized. I appreciated the hot tub and the private dock for my boat
AC worked great during hot weather weekend unfortunately it wasn’t very clean, had to clean up before we felt comfortable to relax in. Host was very nice and directions to get there was very thorough.

About the host
Hosted by Mitchell Samuelian
Judy and I moved here in 2021 and have been updating the property ever since. We have beautiful landscaping, a vineyard, a Koi pond, and an extensive solar system powering everything, including our well.
We both work in the renewable industry as executives, so are able to work from home when we are not traveling.
Why they chose this property
Rural communities have a strong sense of community because we often have to pull together to help each other since even simple things like grocery or hardware stores can be relatively far away.
We enjoy the friendships and community we are a part of. We love that we can see the stars (there is no light pollution), that we know our neighbors, and that there is always a project to work on.
The Lake is a wonderful bonus, and being able to spend some downtime relaxing on our dock or out on the boat enjoying the beautiful weather our areas offers helps us recharge.
What makes this property unique
The entire property is 13 acres and is in a very remote setting. There is a full kitchen in the apartment, full access to an outdoor kitchen, and a separate grill on the dock, but there are no take-out or delivery options. You can genuinely forget the rat race exists. The Hilltop Retreat is in a separate building from our home. We have a small vineyard, our own dock on the lake, and spectacular views. We respect our guest's privacy, but we have also made some new friends and shared a glass of wine on the expansive deck.
