About this property
Magical Home in Kayenta Surrounded by Red Rocks, Zion
30-day minimum. Please do not book with less than a 30-day stay. Sorry, no exceptions, due to our HOA.
Newly renovated, newly furnished home in the coveted Kayenta community. The house sits on a huge 3.5 acres site! Near Zion and Snow Canyon. But you don’t really need to go anywhere as it feels like we live in a National Park! It's magical walking at night, no lights but the moon and stars above.
This is not a typical vacation rental - it is furnished as our own home. New mattresses, high end bedding, gourmet kitchen, exercise equipment, original art.
This is ideal for a couple who may have visitors. There are three bedrooms: a master, an office, and a gym.
The master bedroom has a King bed, updated walk-in shower, bidet, granite counter tops, and walk-in closet.
The gym room has a new King Murphy bed, along with our exercise equipment.
The third bedroom is our office, with an adjustable-height desk (stand or sit), a gorgeous, expansive view, soft rug, and fast internet. Plenty of office supplies, including a color printer. We have an air mattress that could be used in the office when you have extra guests.
The kitchen is a major hang out area, with a HUGE beautiful granite island, next to a dining table and living room. But you might want to eat outside under the back patio or have drinks out on the front patio. It's a very well stocked kitchen.
We have a TV in the living room with lots of streaming options, but you may find you aren't using it much. Night time walks are magical in Kayenta. There are restrictions on outdoor lighting, which means you will probably see more stars in the night sky than you have ever seen, including shooting stars.
You are in the desert and will become keenly aware of the weather...not just the temperature, but the wind, the lightning and thunder, the sunsets and sunrises.
Neighborhood description Kayenta is nestled into the red rocks. The stillness of the rocks is palpable. Some say our red rocks are a vortex. Whatever your beliefs, you'll notice the peace and tranquility here.
The most popular activity in Kayenta is walking...walking the streets, with or without dogs. You feel like you are in a National Park. It's also nice to bike through the community.
In Kayenta's Art Village you'll find a performing Arts Center, art galleries, and one of the best restaurants/cafes in the area. Not far from the village, we have a labyrinth, pickle ball courts, tennis courts, and a community pool.
Check out the Kayenta documentary online. This app won't let us put in the url, but it's easily found by searching on "Kayenta documentary." You'll learn some history about Kayenta, experiencing its visionary and beloved developer, and get a feel for the place.
The Kayenta HOA has some strict rules about rentals (must be 30 days or more), blinds need to be down at night, and all cars must be parked in the garage, not the driveway. In other words, no cars in the driveway. We have a three-car garage and the maximum height is 82". All these rules are needed to keep Kayenta a special and beautiful community.
We are engaged hosts and want to make sure you have a fabulous time in our home.
Minimum stay is 30 days, as required by HOA.

About the host
Hosted by Mark & Shelley
Mark and Shelley fell in love with Kayenta during COVID time...searched until we found the right home for us. The house was designed by the founder of Kayenta, and he named it the 360 house - because we have 360 views. We updated it in 2022 - new kitchen and bathrooms, and new furnishings. We live in the San Francisco Bay Area. We designed the house for us but we make it available for you.
Why they chose this property
Kayenta is a magical place. The community protected the beauty of the desert. The founder of Kayenta is a steward of the land; Kayenta was created with the idea of keeping the desert in its natural state. We can only build on 30% of the lot and the rest of the land is unaltered.
What makes this property unique
Our home is not the typical vacation rental. Instead, it has all the amenities you’d want in your home. Think of it as visiting a favorite relative.
The views here are quite spectacular. There are no homes between us and the red mountain. We have 3 1/2 acres. It’s kind of like living in the Grand Canyon.
