The cabin has such a great view of the bay.The resident eagle was fun to watch as were all the hummingbirds!Beautiful location and perfect cabin to relax in!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This lodge was ideal for our one-week stay in Sitka. The views were nothing short of amazing! The location is private and offers easy walking access to the pathway along Silver Bay. Watching eagles fly overhead (nest right on the property) was a once in a lifetime experience. The ‘Alaska’ decor inside were a definite plus and the owners left a very sweet welcome basket along with brochures of the many activities in the area. As a fellow short term rental operator, I appreciate the extra effort that goes into making this location operate with the added challenge of the island only being accessible by boat or plane. Thanks for a great stay! We plan on coming back in 2027.

We had a wonderful stay at the Golden Alaskan Lodge in Sitka! The house had everything we needed to feel comfortable and right at home. In the mornings, we loved being able to watch whales and eagles while having coffee! In the evenings we really enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. There were so many beautiful things to discover in and around the house. Every day we noticed something new and interesting. There is a giant eagle’s nest in one of the trees in the yard, which was very cool to see! I appreciated that the kitchen was well appointed, with everything we needed to cook good meals. The location was perfect for us. We rented a car, and the house is just a short drive from town with hiking/biking trails close by. All in all, I would highly recommend this property, especially if you’re looking for a quiet, scenic place outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown.

Great place to stay in Sitka. We couldn't help but admire all of the decor in the lodge and it added to our Alaskan experience. Hot tub overlooking the boats salmon fishing in the bay was a nice added touch. Only a shot drive from town and amenities. If you value peace and quiet and want to stay in a place that feels Alaskan this would be the spot.

Great Vacation Home

Great location overlooking the bay. Lots of beds, complete kitchen and laundry...everything you need. Plus the hot tub and sauna are a big plus. If you have a full house, bathrooms might be a little tight...esp if you have lots of females in your group.

The Golden Alaska Lodge was such a treat. We loved staying away from town, the views of Silver Bay are amazing. It is such a peaceful home. The house is very clean, very well equipped for anything you may need. It was very comfortable. We enjoyed the spa and sauna after long days of fishing. Brian and Christine were great to work with. I definitely recommend booking this house if you are visiting Sitka!

Magical time spent at Golden Alaskan Lodge. Hosts for the cabin very attentive. Memories for 4 generations have been made and taken home with us. The views of Silver Bay are amazing. Humpback whales seen while drinking our coffee. Great hiking paths close by. My favorite was watching and listening to the eagles in their natural habitat.

Had the most wonderful week at this house!! It had everything needed and the house had the most wonderful views. We had the luck of meeting the owner and he was very helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great week in Sitka.

Loved the location of this home! It’s away from town , very quiet, Surrounded by forest & mountains. On the water & fabulous eagle watching !!! The house itself is comfortable , could use a few upgrades etc….. but overall very nice !!!

Amazing Location!

Our family of 9 stayed here for a week! The house is fabulous—we didn’t want to leave. We utilized the hot tub, sauna, fire pit and grill. We invited friends from town over for fresh Halibut and Salmon we caught. They told us they had all been to the house for a wedding or some function. It’s definitely a Sitka landmark. (We saw a bear and multiple bald eagles through the binoculars! ) Highly recommend this house!

The View is Worth the Journey - Absolutly Stunning

My wife and I never expected such a fantastic experience and our children and grandchildren loved every minute. The views from the lodge are breathtaking and my wife saw a Humpback Whale breach in Silver Bay right outside the window within 10 minutes of arrival. The Lodge is very comfortable with every amenity you could want and some that you would never expect to find in an ordinary rental. The owners went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. All we did not need was a TV as there is so much to do and see that we did not turn it on once. Even the grandkids did not bother with it. The natural beauty of the Sitka area is stunning - a magical rain forest.! I highly recommend the vacation destination and the Lodge. Can't wait to get back next year!

With the long days that saw rising Sun at 4:30am and not dark until after 11pm. Interior felt overstuffed, not very comfortable. Upstairs bath has no shower. Stairs have very narrow treads and are carpeted. This always made us unsure of footing. If a guest used the bed on 2nd floor landing they have to go down at night for bathroom. The entire upstairs was not really very comfortable.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

This home is all about the location. The views are amazing, close to the trail and there is an EAGLE nesting on the property. Not sure it gets any cooler than that. Moring coffee and evening cocktails had a phenomenal view. Read prior reviews and think people are to harsh. Yes, the decor is older and worn but you are in Alaska and will not beat this location. Property Manager was very helpful. Quick to respond. I will say if you have 10 people the sleeping arraignments are not available. Roll out was provided but no where to really put it. Also, keep an open mind about the upstairs bathroom. Lacks privacy but has an amazing view! Thank you for sharing your home, we loved our stay.
