The place is cute and very clean and new looking. It is sparsely outfitted. Very few kitchen items and a very small refrigerator. The owner was very responsive about issues we had in trying to have them fixed and refunded a partial fee for our difficulty. No toiletries and only a few towels. Easy to find but it is upstairs. A few minor things didn’t work so I informed the owner.
I would advise that you really pay attention to your reservation process on this property. There are 2 properties at this location. One is the MAIN HOUSE and the other is the SUITE ABOVE THE GARAGE. Most of the pictures posted on VRBO are of the main house and NOT the suite. I didn't see that when I booked. We got the the "Little Fry" property above the garage. This was fine for us, but if you have more than 2 people, it would have been a problem (only one bedroom). This property was Pet Friendly and was why I chose it.There were a few issues upon arrival. The toilet seat was broken, the batteries in remote for the AC was dead and the grill did not work. The owner fixed the remote and toilet seat the next day. They brought propane for the grill, it still didn't work. Never got fixed in the 6 days we were there. I've managed properties in the past, and these things should be checked by your cleaning crews after every stay.Other than that, the suite was cosy and had a full kitchen. That is what we needed because we don't eat out much. The cookware could use a little improvement. There was a nice old cast iron skillet that I made good use of. Utinsils were sparse. Luckily, I brought some basics along. The place was clean and tidy. The bed was fine but the mattress is getting a little saggy for us old people. The view from the balcony was great down to the creek. The firepit was a blessing and there was plenty of firewood.
I enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing stay. The sunrise and sunset views were awesome and the creekfront location is beautiful, even on a chilly winter day. Communication was easy, and the property is as described in the listing. Everything was clean and the bed was SO comfortable, I wanted to take it home with me. A great spot for a quiet solo retreat, or couples get away. I can't wait to return.
We absolutely loved our stay in this creek-front home! The area is so peaceful and restful! And the noisy creek is wonderful! Thank you for such a beautiful place to stay!
Enjoyed our stay drawbacks were small freezer area for ice cream and phone and internet service very slow
Other than that the home was well equipped and clean and we had a good time despite inclimate weather
Thanks again
We enjoyed the cottage and we had a wonderful vacation with our family. We rented the adjoining house so our family would be close by.
This is the third time our family has rented this property and we can’t wait to return next summer.
The town of Hayesville is fun to explore!
My wife and I booked this property to come and enjoy the fall colors. The location, scenery, and overall atmosphere was fantastic. The cottage was clean and cozy with a nice fire pit next to the creek. Will definitely book again next year.
