ROMANTIC, ARTISTS PRIVATE 'FOREST SUITE', 5 acres Redwoods, Trails, Mendo 2 mi.

"Nothing comes closer to perfect than Jen's place."

Forest Suite is located just a few minutes south from the village of Mendocino on 5 acres of beautiful redwoods. This 550 sq. ft. apartment plus 200sq ft deck, is upstairs from my 2,000 sq. ft artist’s studio, which is not in use when guests are staying. Built entirely with redwood, recycled fir and barn wood with cement counters and shower this romantic getaway is a very special spot.

The south wall is all windows facing the deck with deck chairs and a table with two chairs for dining overlooking the surrounding towering redwiids. It’s very peaceful and sunny and is frequented by honeymooners, artists, writers and those seeking total privacy. A few books and screenplays have been written here!

There is an eclectic book and DVD library to enjoy, internet, Direct TV and some boardgames. For your comfort there is a cozy gas fireplace, a ceiling fan, a standing fan and removable window screens in the hall closet. The kitchen is fully stocked and there are also yoga mats and weights for your use.

Take a walk through the forest; you will see a TRAIL sign by the driveway which will take you through the property and out onto Gordon Lane for a longer walk. There is a bench along the trail and also a deck in the trees for yoga or meditation, or just relax at the Suite and enjoy the tranquility.

Me and my husband were looking for a Fall Break escape so we decided to book this place. We both enjoyed the place as it was peaceful and quiet. The only thing is when we arrived the coffee pot had leftover coffee and and was not washed. Other than that we liked the location that it was surrounded by Redwood Trees. The place was easy to navigate and Jen was very responsive. We had a very relaxing time.

The Best place for a little R & R

Quaint Cottage in the Woods

This is the most peaceful get away to reconnect and enjoy the beautiful Mendocino coastline. The Forest Suite has everything you will need for a relaxing time. Jen is an amazing host and has provided a special suite that has all the comforts for your stay. It’s our top pick!

Returned for another lovely stay in Mendocino

This was our second visit to the forest suite, one year after our first visit, and we loved it just as much the second time! It's a perfect place to get away for several days and enjoy the beautiful hiking and coastline that Mendocino has to offer. We look forward to returning again sometime soon!

Always beautiful to stay here. This time, the TV/Netflix wasn’t working at first, but when we notified Jen, she got back to us as soon as she possibly could (she was out of the country) to help us troubleshoot and ultimately fix the problem. I have stayed here a number of times, and it is always beautiful and peaceful. Thank you, Jen!

Secluded & Quiet

The Forest-suite was just right. My wife and I were able to unwind in this tree top oasis of privacy. Close to Mendocino and shipping. We had wonderful weather which allowed us to go hiking and then come enjoy the stillness of this rustic place.

What a great retreat in the woods

We were greatly pleased when we arrived at this excellent loft sitting cozy in the woods. A mere 15 minutes from downtown Mendocino, and a stone's throw from spectacularly picturesque coastal parks. Well-appointed kitchen with great appliances, high ceilings and skylights (that open) and a totally rustic feel - including a great deck for dining or just hanging out. Well thought out, with storage in every nook and cranny, and artwork to complete the ensemble. We'll be back!

Perfect getaway

Hub and I celebrating 19 years and had a quick 3 day getaway in Mendocino. This lovely studio is in a perfect location. It feels like you're in the middle of a forest surrounded by beautiful trees but in reality you're less than a mile from hwy 1 and 5 minutes away from Main st. In Mendocino where all the cute shops and restaurants are. The deck is the perfect place to have a glass of wine or cup of coffee and just breathe. We had everything we needed. The bed was super comfy. This rental is priced so reasonably for what you get. We can't wait to come back. Thank you Jen for sharing your home.

Escape from the world

We had a small issue upon checkin but soon found out why this home and host are rated at 5s across the board. Jen the host quickly remediated the issue and then went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with our stay. This home provided a needed escape from everything. And the best part is you can go from redwood forest to sandy beach in less than 10 minutes or so. Very, very quiet. So relaxing to just sit on deck and hear only the forest. Secluded Tree House

This is a lovely private spot in the woods just north of Van Damme State Park. It is not big but just right for one or two travelers. There is a good but small reading library here as well. Some minor things that may make your stay better if you are aware ahead of time: If you cook a lot, the counter space is limiting. You'll need to bring your own oil and spices except for salt, pepper and Old Bay. The floors are reclaimed wood and are nice but hard. If you like to do things on the floor and you are not a monk, bring your own small rug and/or yoga mat. The hot water takes a little time to get hot, just be patient and run it for a couple of minutes. This was our second time staying there so we really like it despite a few minor annoyances.

Everything was absolutely perfect. The space was clean, beautiful, peaceful, charming, it was just perfect. We will definitely be coming back, we came for our anniversary and both of our birthdays. Jen was incredible, she was responsive the entire time, and answered all of our questions quickly. We had left an item and she had it shipped back to us which was above and beyond expectations. We did a 50 mile bike ride and the suite was right on the map which was perfect, two minute drive to all of the shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. It was so close we ran to coffee one morning, could not recommend enough.

The forest suite is surrounded by gorgeous trees which provide a beautiful view from inside the suite and on the deck. The host was a super great communicator throughout my stay. It is close the community of Mendicino as well as Fort Bragg, where the ocean views are spectacular. I highly recommend this place!
