About the host
Hosted by Alison Crawford

Our family was lucky enough to grow up in the eastern U.P. We moved away to go to college and then lived in the Carolinas for 18 years. After starting a family, we moved to Wausau, WI 10 years ago. Three years ago, we had the opportunity to purchase this lakefront home and jumped on it. We come to the cabin as often as possible with our two teenagers. Our family loves spending time here so much in the summers that we decided to share this paradise with other families.
Why they chose this property
We have something for everyone here. Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast looking for adventure or hoping to enjoy quiet summer days reading a book on our large lake front deck, our place is for you. We are a central hub to numerous Upper Peninsula attractions while offering a quiet solitude in the evenings.
What makes this property unique
Our home's outdoor deck sprawls the entire length of the home. This offers a tremendous amount of area to enjoy the lake during hot summer days or cool evenings. Only half of Monocle lake has homes while the other half is adjacent to Hiawatha National Forest. This means unobstructed views of nature 24/7. We enjoy morning coffee listening to the loons, playing on the lake during the day, an evening sunset stroll on Lake Superior after dinner followed up by a lakefront bonfire in the evening. It doesn't get better than this!
