Beautiful Gaffaro Apartment in Dorsoduro with Canal View

This charming second-floor apartment was completely restored and refurbished in 2004. Features Italian marble floors, hand-cut mosaic detail in the bathroom, Venetian chandeliers.

Master bedroom with full-size double bed, parquet flooring, fitted wardrobe, Venetian chandelier. Sofa bed in living room pulls out to double bed.
The kitchen is fully fitted and is divided from the living room by a worktop and breakfast bar. Living room has sofa and dining table for 6.
It has air conditioning, floor heating and internet wi-fi.

Our apartment is located in the university district and just two bridges from Campo Santa Margherita which is noted on Public Places ''60 of the Worlds Greatest Places'' list and it is the largest square in Venice and a popular hangout for Venetians young and not so young. It has a great choice of restaurants and cafes and a vegetable and fish market. You can sit in the sun and enjoy a coffee or a cocktail and watch the world go by.


The Gaffaro apartment (named after the bridge it overlooks) is conveniently located for your arrival and departure as it is a short walk from the train station and the bus station at Piazzale Roma. You can walk to Rialto in 15 minutes and get to St. Mark's square in 20 minutes by taking the vaporetto at San Toma'.

Sebastiano was a very welcoming, responsive, and helpful host. We loved opening the windows every day and looking onto the canals. The location is quieter than the hustle and bustle of the Grand Canal and we enjoyed it more. We felt safe and we enjoyed coming back to it each day. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Venice seems like a dream world and this was the perfect location for a home base to soak in all venice has to offer. We absolutely loved our stay here and are already looking to book it for our parents for next year. We highly recommend it here!

Superb Family Vacation to Venice

The residence is very large and superbly located adjacent to 2 converging canals. Being on the 3rd floor you have breathtaking views and can truly embrace "life" in Vencie. Sebastiano provided fantastic information about traveling and things to do in Venice. Full size kitchen so you can cook if you so desire. Conventiently located from the train station it's about a 9 minute walk. We have memories of a lifetime Highly recommend!

Great apartment with beautiful view of canal. A short 10 minute walk from the train station, so you can avoid the craziness of the water bus with luggage. Sebastian met us as we arrived at the apartment. He was kind enough to give us some travel tips. The apartment has everything you need. We were able to wash our clothes after a week of traveling. The km0 restaurant after the bridge was very good. We would stay there again.

Perfect apartment

The apartment is in a great location close to the train/bus station and good restaurants, whilst still being quiet during the night. It has a fantastic view of the canals too. Sebastiano was a great host and incredibly helpful. We look forward to staying here again when we are next in Venice.

Best vrbo ever!

My husband and I stayed here to round out our 4-city trip to Italy, and it couldn’t have been better! Clean, super spacious, and had a perfect view of the canal! Sebastiano was so welcoming and gave us the lay of the land when we got there, much appreciated!

Sebastianos apartment was perfect for us during our short stay. The location was excellent being close to the bus stop and also in a quiet area with a great view! This was a wonderful stay during Venice. The apartment was close to the Piazzale Roma so was easy to get to the apartment with big baggage - only few bridges. The view to the canal was wonderful and also quite. Got good recommendations from Sebastiano on the near by places to visit, how to get around and even nice dining suggestions.

Perfect Location for Venice Stay

My wife and I loved this well appointed apartment which was ideally located in lively but not overly touristy area of Dosoduro. Walking distance for major sites and convenient to transportation hub. Stefano was a great host and was very communicative, he even greeted us at the corner when we arrived. Highly recommend this apartment and hope to return soon.

Great place!

The cottage was just as described, cozy yet big enough for 20 of us. We easily used the local bus system to get in and out of Prague, usually about an hour each way, and to reach the nearby airport. We have zero complaints and many happy memories of this lovely place. Thank you!

Wonderful apartment in a quieter part of Venice and a 10min walk from Santa Lucia train station. Beautiful view of canal greets you in the morning and we walked to the major sights. And also a big thank you to our host Sebastiano, who is so kind and understanding when our train was delayed and still met us at the apartment at midnight. Hope to be back one day!

A dream location!

Everything about this stay was perfect! The host was able to accommodate an early check in and gave great recommendations for our stay. Waking up every morning to enjoy our coffee in front of the windows and relax there at night was perfect! The apartment is in a great location within a quick walking distance to the train station, and fantastic restaurants nearby. It’s a bit away from the tourist chaos which was absolutely perfect! I cannot recommend this place enough! Can’t wait to come back and visit again!

Happy in Venice

Very nice apartment in a great location. Sebastiano greeted us there on arrival and was very helpful to us. Gave us lots of info about the apartment which was great. Maybe a short written list of recommended restaurants, cafes, bars and supermarket with addresses would have been great. He did kindly write a few things on a map for us, but addresses would have been good, as it’s normal to get lost more than once in Venice.

Venice on the Canal

This property was outstanding. The view was perfect, looking right down a canal. We can't say enough good things about it. Not realizing that Venice is a walking city, it was close to the transportation center and within walking distance from restaurants and all the transactions. The property itself was fantastic. We had a rain out day and spent it in the apartment which felt very roomy. It was well stocked for cooking which we do for some of our meals.

Very convenient location for airport and waterbus transportation. Relatively quiet neighborhood. Clean and comfortable accommodations. Well-equipped Kitchen. Recommend grocery shopping at the Coop at Piazzale Roma rather than Sebastiano's recommendation. Excellent briefing on arrival from Sebastiano, except his restaurant recommendation of nearby restaurant ( Osteria Ae Cravate) was not good; skip it.

wonderful apartment, wonderful landlord

This was the best apartment, and Sebastiano is one of the best landlords, we have had in four trips to Italy. We spent 8 days here in November 2012. The apartment is even better than it looks in photos. We love to cook, and the kitchen is excellent. The location is great; quick walk from train station and all necessities, and a lot of places to wander that are close by. We enjoyed just watching out the windows as the people, the water, the sky changed. Sebastiano gave us a great orientation to Venice and was very helpful, kept in touch with us in case of any problems (there were none). We hope to come back and spend a longer time here.

Lovely apartment

THe apartment and its location are wonderful. The only suggestion I have is to improve the internet speed. It was extremely slow and made ti difficult to downlaod pictures, check websites. Streaming was not a possibility.

Me and my wife lived in this apartment untill 2008, so we made it as we liked and everything has been recently renovated. It is in a central and residential area of Venice, Dorsoduro, where you can find all the shops for your needs, from the organic products to the baker, butcher, pharmacy, etc...

What makes this property unique

The view! from the three windows in the living room/kitchen you can enjoy the view of three canals passing by the apartment with all sorts of boats, private/gondolas with singer/working boats. You don't even need to go out, just by a bottle of cool Prosecco and enjoy Venice from you holiday home!
