About this property

Dog-friendly chalet + hot tub, EV charger

After having a fun day outdoors, relax in the hot tub or chill in the great room with seasonal views of Sugarloaf Mountain while the kids have a blast in the downstairs game room! This  contemporary ski lodge is perfect for groups or families, especially those with pets. Well-equipped kitchen.
In winter, Sugarloaf mountain is 10 minutes away - some of New England's best skiing. The Sugarloaf Outdoor Center has 30 miles / 55 km of maintained, groomed country / snowshoeing trails, and outdoor ice rink. Heated mud room and boot dryers ensure that your equipment is always warm and ready. And if you have an EV, you can recharge on our Level 2 charger (provides 40 A) and take a break from range anxiety.
In spring/summer/fall, enjoy miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, golf (at the beautiful, Robert Trent Jones designed Sugarloaf Golf Club) and frisbee golf (starts near base lodge, is a nice hike too). Relax on the spacious deck or enjoy a fire at the fire pit while grilling dinner on the deck.

Luxurious Loafer’s Lodge
Loafer’s Lodge was everything as described but better! Well-appointed with all the creature comforts of home made our family feel welcome. The mudroom is spacious, heated & included boot/glove dryers so our gear was dry & ready every morning as we headed out the door to the slopes. The open floorplan including the living/dining/kitchen area is terrific for a large crowd or intimate family gatherings with views of the trails at Sugarloaf! We are a family of 6 adults and there was ample spaces to spread out, relax & enjoy endless streaming services on the oversized flatscreen above the gas fireplace. The well-stocked kitchen accommodates two or more cooks, is well-equipped for meal prep with all kinds of utensils, pans, flat top grill & the waffle maker was a huge hit with our crowd! 4 spacious bedrooms with plenty of closet/storage areas and new cushy carpet under foot. Our only negative was the primary bed is small & not supportive enough. The remaining beds were super comfy and there were plenty of pillows & blankets to go around. The hot tub was a very welcome respite after a long day on the slopes. The house was immaculate. We would definitely stay here again. The owners were very communicative & without delay. We highly recommend Loafer's Lodge for a ski trip or a peaceful summer/fall getaway in the mountains.

Awesome mountain house
Great house! Well appointed, very clean and super comfortable. We had an amazing stay. 5 minute drive to SugarLoaf was great. We spent nights around the gas fireplace talking for hours after great dinners in the large kitchen and dining room.

About the host

Hosted by Gregory LeGore

Host profile image
Greg, Joanna, and their son Alex own Loafer's Lodge together because they love the Carrabassett Valley, particularly in wintertime. All of us are avid skiers and love to be on the slopes of Sugarloaf, particularly the Narrow Guage trail for Alex because it is the perfect trail to lay down arcs as a former ski racer. When not skiing, we love the serenity of snowshoeing through the forest after a fresh snowfall (perfect for wind-hold days).

Why they chose this property

Sugarloaf is our favorite place to ski in the east! When we saw Loafers' Lodge, we knew it was the perfect place to make family memories for generations to come. The hot tub is a huge bonus after a hard day on the mountain.

What makes this property unique

You'll love watching the lights of the groomers preparing for your next day on the mountain as you relax in the hot tub.
