About this property
Room for Everyone! 7BR, 6.5BA Wine Country Retreat near Downtown
Spacious, charming, and full of history — this beautifully restored home is designed for unforgettable gatherings! Just a 5-minute stroll to McMinnville’s beloved 3rd Street or Linfield University, you’ll be perfectly situated to experience small-town charm, browse local boutiques, dine at top-rated restaurants, or venture out to explore the hundreds of wineries that make Oregon Wine Country so special.
The Space
You’ll have the entire home to yourself during your stay!
Nestled along Baker Street—right between Linfield University and downtown McMinnville—this large, historic home sits in a neighborhood that blends homes and small businesses, adding to its unique, authentic feel. Because Baker Street is a main route through town, you may hear some daytime traffic, but it generally quiets down after 9 p.m. For a peaceful night’s rest, every bedroom is equipped with a sound machine.
Inside, you’ll find a welcoming living room centered around a beautiful fireplace and leaded-glass windows, plus an adjoining dining area with a long table that comfortably seats up to 14 guests—perfect for shared meals or game nights.
The kitchen features a large island and is stocked with every tool you could need. Guests frequently comment on how thoughtfully equipped it is—but if there’s something specific you’d like, just let us know!
All bedding is from Simply Organic Bamboo, chosen for its sustainable, ultra-soft, and hypoallergenic qualities—guests consistently say it’s the best sleep they’ve had away from home.
The main floor includes one bedroom with a queen bed, desk/vanity, and private full bath.
On the second floor, you’ll find four more bedrooms (three with queen beds, one with a full), each with its own private bathroom and a small workspace or vanity.
The third floor offers two additional bedrooms (one queen, one with two twins), another full bathroom, and a flexible lounge area with a kitchenette, fridge, and sofa—ideal for quiet mornings or late-night chats.
Step outside to a beautiful patio space featuring a covered dining area, outdoor lounge furniture, a gas grill, and a fireside chat table. Enjoy friendly games of cornhole, giant Connect Four, ladder ball, or Jenga under the glow of Edison string lights.
Parking is easy, with a wide driveway on the left side of the home and extra parking available on the gravel pad at the rear.
Guest Access
Guests have full access to the home and all outdoor spaces. The patio area is equipped with comfortable furniture, string lighting, and plenty of space to gather or unwind.
Other Things to Note
Our location on Baker Street puts you right between Linfield University and downtown—just minutes from shops, tasting rooms, and local dining. The area has both residential homes and small businesses, adding a touch of small-town authenticity.
Because we’re on one of McMinnville’s main streets, some traffic noise is to be expected during the day, but things usually quiet down around 9–10 p.m. To ensure a restful night, we’ve included sound machines in every bedroom.
A few guests have mentioned the street noise, but we’re proud to note that it’s never impacted a single review—most guests say the convenient location more than makes up for it.

About the host
Hosted by Emily and Ryan
We’re Ryan and Emily. We've called Newberg home since 2005, when we both came to attend George Fox University. Newberg is just 25 minutes from McMinnville, so we’re close enough to personally care for the home and assist our guests whenever needed.
We have two young kids who keep us on our toes and remind us daily of the joy of creating memories together—something we also hope our guests experience when they stay in our home.
Hospitality has been part of our story from the start. After college, we spent over a year working at a hotel in Germany, where we fell in love with the art of making people feel truly welcome. Emily also worked at Sun Mountain Lodge, a boutique luxury resort in Washington’s beautiful Methow Valley, and Ryan spent several years at The Allison Inn & Spa, one of Oregon’s most celebrated five-star resorts. These experiences shaped our shared passion for hospitality and taught us the value of thoughtful details, warm communication, and personalized care.
While we both have day jobs, operating our vacation rental is a true passion project. We’re constantly brainstorming ways to enhance the guest experience, from the amenities we offer to the comfort and character of each space. Every booking and every five-star review still makes us do a little happy dance—it means that much to us.
As hosts, we take pride in being personally involved. You’ll never work with a property management company—just us. Whether you have a quick question, need a restaurant recommendation, or want advice on exploring Oregon Wine Country, we’re always happy to help.
It’s our genuine pleasure to welcome each guest who walks through our door, and we hope your stay feels like a home away from home.

Why they chose this property
We chose this neighborhood because it offers the perfect balance of accessibility, charm, and authentic small-town character. The area is a mix of residential homes and small businesses, which gives it a lively yet welcoming feel. Our home sits on Baker Street, one of McMinnville’s main roads—meaning it’s easy to find, convenient to everything, and a great starting point for exploring all the Willamette Valley has to offer.
While being on a main street means you might notice a bit of traffic during the day, it also places you just a short half-mile walk from historic Third Street, McMinnville’s beloved downtown lined with boutique shops, local restaurants, art galleries, and tasting rooms. In the other direction, you can take a leisurely stroll through Linfield University’s scenic campus, full of tree-lined pathways and historic buildings.
We also love how central this location is for exploring beyond town. Within minutes, you can be surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills, visiting world-class wineries or enjoying a picnic among the vines. For a different kind of adventure, the Oregon Coast is less than an hour away, making day trips to the beach both easy and spontaneous.
While our home doesn’t sit on acreage or overlook vineyards, we truly believe its location offers the best of everything—walkability, convenience, and connection to the heart of Oregon Wine Country. Guests can experience McMinnville’s vibrant local culture up close, then retreat to a spacious, comfortable home that feels both central and peaceful.
For us, this neighborhood represents what we love most about Oregon: a community rooted in warmth, creativity, and a deep appreciation for good food, good wine, and good company.
