About this property
Secluded 3Br/2.5Ba w/Hot Tub & Mountain View!
"Bear's-Eye View"
Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, at just over 3,000 feet elevation, you will find our private 3br/2.5ba cabin, with year-round long range mountain views.
There are no neighbors in sight from the cabin, yet you are only a few minutes away from a convenient grocery (Walmart - 3.7mi). The quaint downtown of Spruce Pine is 5 miles away, and we are just 10 minutes off the Blue Ridge Parkway (milepost 331).
Our cabin offers a great “home base” for day trips to experience all that Western NC has to offer. Spruce Pine is located right between Asheville and Boone. There are so many possibilities for hiking, sightseeing, skiing, and river tubing, just to name a few.
Enjoy our new Starlink High speed internet for work from home and streaming capabilities!
The secluded nature of the property offers a great opportunity to get away and enjoy nature. Waterfall located with a short walk down the driveway!
Watch the sunrise over the mountains from every eastern facing window of the house, or while relaxing on our expansive top deck.
Our 7 person hot tub offers an excellent vantage point of the Mountain View, which extends all the way to Table Rock and Hawksbill Mountain, located in the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area.
Common Areas:
The first common area includes a large open kitchen, oversized sectional couch, and a stone (gas) fireplace. The half bathroom is located off this common space, as well as the master suite.
Kitchen includes stainless steel pots and pans for cooking, cooking utensils, silverware, dining set, glass cups, wine glasses, glass dinnerware, and plastic cup/plate options.
The 2nd common area includes a large dining room table, smart tv, electric fireplace, sitting area, futon, foosball table, dart board, puzzles, board games, and Bluetooth surround sound speaker system for music. Catch the beautiful view through large “picture” windows.
Gather around the gas fire pit on the front deck, surrounded by 4 wooden Adirondack chairs.
On the top deck you will find a gas grill (propane provided), 2 Adirondack chairs, and outdoor dining table that seats 6.

There are no other houses past ours, so you don't have to worry about any through traffic, private paved road, private gate, and paved driveway.
Arrival:
Though we do not recommend arriving at any mountain destination in the dark, we have a large street light in our driveway to help you see at night if necessary.
We have a paved road leading up to our paved driveway, but the neighborhood road leading up to our paved road is gravel/dirt. 4wd is recommended, but not completely necessary in normal weather conditions. You are fully responsible for how you will navigate the roads and driveway in all weather conditions, please make your best judgments. Chains and 4WD are recommended in the winter months, when inclement weather is present. There is a parking area at the bottom of the steepest part of the drive that gives you a chance to park and walk up the driveway if needed. *Snow removal is not guaranteed*
Pests/ Animals:
The cabin is routinely treated for pests, but please keep in mind the cabin is located in the middle of the woods, home of animals/pests of all kinds, including snakes, deer, bears, field mice, turkeys, a variety of bugs, etc. Nature is all around you, and there will most likely be an occasional bug in the house, especially if doors are left open. Understand this prior to booking.
Please leave garage doors closed when not in use in order to prevent animals from entering the garage.
Trash is to be contained in garage trashcan and closed tight.
Digital:
We have Starlink internet for high speed WIFI and streaming! Log into any of your personal streaming accounts utilizing the Smart TVs, or the provided lightening cables directly from your phone. We do not have regular cable/satellite television at the cabin.
Heating/cooling:
Mitsubishi “Mini-split” wall mounted heating and cooling systems for each bedroom, as well as each common area. Adjust each room to your desired temperature. There are also two gas fireplaces, and an electric fireplace available to keep you warm and cozy.
Children:
Children are welcome at the cabin, as we have young children of our own. Please understand the house is NOT “child-proofed” by any means. The cabin is also located on a steep incline and children should not be outside or inside by themselves unsupervised.
Things to Do:
Stay and relax at the cabin for your entire trip, adventure into the quaint downtown of Spruce Pine, or adventure out to nearby attractions in all directions! There are plenty of options for skiing, hiking, river tubing, and shopping.

For sanitary purposes, we only provide single serve “k-cups” for coffee. If you would like to enjoy the traditional coffee pot, please bring your own preferred coffee grounds. Decaffeinated coffee is not provided, coffee grounds not provided, specialty teas not provided.

There will be an extra roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, as well as an extra roll of paper towels in the kitchen. This is only to help “get you started” for your stay. Please plan for the specific needs and timeframe of your group.
Dogs:

Well water system:
Due to the remote location of the cabin, a filtered well water system is in place. Well usage requires a balance between water use, and letting the well fill back up, and it is important to be mindful of this usage. We ask that guests practice basic water conservation techniques, especially with larger parties. There is a 500 gallon water storage tank, that will have an automatic shut off if the well is over-used. It is important to give the well time between uses to replenish.
