Canyon Lodge, perfectly situated in the middle of 14 acres between Colton Point and Rexford, is only a short drive from downtown Wellsboro with great local attractions! Positioned at the top of the mountain, Canyon Lodge is near the PA Grand Canyon, close to Pine Creek and Tioga State Forest, and only a few minutes' drive to the Pine Creek Rail Trail system. This newly renovated 3 bed/2 bath mountain home sleeps 6 and is ready for you and your group to come unwind.





Tastefully decorated with a comfortable open living area, the home is just right for entertaining and so much more! Canyon Lodge is furnished with everything you need for a peaceful retreat. This ranch home features central AC and high-speed internet for you to enjoy while catching up online or watching the large flat-screen TV with family in the open living-dining area. Don't want to venture off the mountain? Cook your favorite meals in the fully stocked kitchen or outside on the grill and enjoy the convenience of the washer/dryer at your disposal for those extended stays! The Primary Suite offers a king-size bed, a closet and access to a bathroom with shower. The other two bedrooms each offer a comfortable queen bed, closet space and hallway access to the main bathroom with tub/shower combo.






Take in the nature all around you while enjoying the gorgeous mountain views from the back deck or the newly added covered front porch near the cozy fire pit.  There is plenty of space to park your trailers, so bring your snowmobiles/ATVs to access the miles of snowmobile/ATV trails from nearby trailheads. 






You are just minutes from Pine Creek Outfitters for rafting, canoeing, kayaking, biking and hiking; a short drive to the Ole Covered Wagon Tours; close to the Pine Creek Rail Trail for biking, walking, cross country skiing; and not far from Cherry Springs State Park for stargazing the dark skies. You are welcome to the limited supply of toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent, and trash bags in our starter home kit. Please be prepared to bring any additional supplies you and your group may need for your entire stay. Linens/towels are provided; Keurig, Coffee Pot, French Press available; Wi-Fi; Central AC; parking for trailers; Firewood Provided.






For the safety and security of our guests and property, please note that our home is equipped with outdoor security cameras that capture both video and audio. These cameras monitor the decks and driveway/parking area.

We do this kind of thing every year. Best property yet.Driveway was a little difficult to negotiate, but we were warned.Coffee table leg looks like it could use a little repair.

Canyon Prospect is a great place to get away. Its tucked up on a hillside, woods all areund. The house is very well maintained. We would book again!!!

Parents weekend

Biking getaway

Very comfortable and clean accomodations. Nicely appointed kitchen. Beds super comfortable. Location perfect for access to the Pine Creek bike trail and quaint town of Wellsboro. Nice deck with plenty of seating that looks into a wooded area. We enjoyed our stay.

One of the most comfortable and well-appointed rentals I've ever stayed in. But if it's hot, like it was, bring a fan if you're hanging around the house in the afternoon as there is no A/C in the open living areas. Otherwise - an excellent and very comfortable rental.

Great visit to the forest

This lodge was a perfect middle-of-nowhere place to take in nature! Driving distance to several parks, as well as plenty of space around the property makes it a great locale if you want to escape it all. Correspondence with the property owner was effortless; prompt response and was willing to work with us when we were having delays. The only knock was the smell of sulfur from the well water, but we brought bottled water with us, so it wasn't much of a problem.

Forest Bathing on the Deck

The view from the deck is every bit as good as on the webpage. Sit among the trees and listen to birds calling. Access to Pine Creek is just a mile away. The lodge is furnished to a very high standard and has a well equipped kitchen. Showers are very good. You might want to bring some bottled water as the water supply is somewhat sulfurous, as another reviewer has noted.

Hidden gem

This house has exceeded expectations. I have rented through Verbo more than once and for the first time, my family and I were sad to leave. The X-box was a great surprise for my kids. House is in the middle of the woods. Back desk was amazing to relax, eat, and watch the stars. We even saw a BEAR walk by two days in a row!!!! House is extremely spacious and comfortable. We will we will definitely be returning. House was so great that if it was for sale we would of wanted to buy it for our vacation home. I wouldn’t change a thing about this house.

Private getaway in great property

Very clean and well furnished house. Well appointed kitchen. It's a a beautiful property, and very private. The living room has very comfortable, cozy furniture. Good TV and Internet. The only negative was the strong sulfur smell in the water. It was very off-putting. Luckily we brought jugs of water to use for coffee and cooking. Luckily we were made aware of the issue along with the check=in information. I believe this should be mentioned in the listing so people would know before booking.

Girls’ weekend

We stayed for 3 nights for a girls’ weekend. The property was private and the house was perfect for our needs. It was very clean and well maintained inside and the pictures don’t do it justice. The only reason we couldn’t give 5 stars is because of the sulfur smell of the water that the other reviewers mentioned. Although it wasn’t disclosed in the listing, we were notified prior to arrival. We did not think it would be more than a nuisance , but the smell was so pungent that it made showering unpleasant and was off-putting each time we turned on the faucet. Because if it, we agreed we would look for a different property next year. Otherwise, we very much enjoyed the home but would highly recommend a water treatment system for a 5 star experience.
