House was close to lake, marinas and Barren Lake State Park. Property exactly as descriptions by owners. Very clean and well kept. Met owners who were really nice . We will return. Everyone in family enjoyed the trip.
We loved everything about this space! Well maintained, in an interesting area, within reach of Mammoth Cave and the general Cave City area. We hope to return!
The cabin was amazing. So clean and spacious. Every room was decorated so unique. Loved the outside screened in porch. The views were magnificent. Loved all the welcone extras.
The weather was perfect.
We all had such a relaxing talking and laughing, very much needed for everyone.
Thank you Cindy and Jerry for sharing your cabin with us.
Great cabin! Loved the covered back porch for sitting and sipping coffee! Fire pit was great for s’mores! Decor is so cute and cozy! Can’t wait to go back!
Really enjoyed our stay while visiting Mammoth Caves. The location is beautiful overlooking Barren River Lake, and the enclosed porch was great for having coffee in the morning, listening to the birds, and hearing the sound of the lake. Hoping to come back in the future.
We absolutely loved our stay here! The house is on a quiet street just around the corner from Bailey's Point boat ramp. The house was fully stocked and we loved all the sitting areas especially the screened in deck and fire pit. There were plenty of linens and the beds were extremely comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
This was a perfect location for us to meet up with Family members from Indiana. The upstairs and downstairs offered a great separate place for each family member. The lake house was as advertised: Clean and good views of the lake. We recommend this location for families.
Cindy was an absolute dream to rent from! The house was the perfect place to relax and check out the fall colors out on the back patio. She had lots of sweet little touches throughout the house to help make your stay the best it could be. Super cute, very clean, great location! We will definitely be looking here first for our next trip to this area!
Cindy was such a wonderful host, thoughtful, accommodating and and thorough! The property is tucked away down a quiet country lane with a beautiful view of the lake. Clearly the hosts have paid attention to every detail with this property. Very comfortable, well maintained and that screened in porch! This was just what our family needed! A+++!
If you are looking for a quiet environment this is a great place to stay. I stayed with my mom and four sisters and had a really nice time. We went to see Mammoth and Lost River caves which was really nice. We particularly liked hanging out on the upper balcony and sitting around the fireplace. We are big into games so the screened porch worked well for that .The house is clean, well organized and cute.
There is a spiral staircase to get to the lower level but it really wasn't that big of an issue for my sister and I.
We booked this property because it was secluded and quiet. It didn't disappoint. The house was clean, it fit our needs perfectly. The outdoor porch was used every night to enjoy the weather. Playing games out there was very fun. Communication with Cindy, the owner, was easy and fast response. Would recommend this place for sure. The cows/neighbors were very quiet. LOL It was cool seeing them in the evening and the morning outside the back of the house.
We had a nice time. The house was clean and as described in the listing. The property owner was wonderful to communicate with. The house could benefit from an addition of a half bath to accommodate the max number of guests (10) allowed. The spiral staircase is challenging for older adults. A renovation replacing the staircase with a regular one and adding a half bathroom would make this property more accommodating to guests. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would recommend this property if you are in the area.
My family and I loved our week-long stay at this lovely lakeview property. The house was spotless with all the amenities you might need and the perfect living area to spend time together. The beds were exceptionally comfortable! The updated furniture, décor, and appliances, along with several warm welcome nice-to-haves provided by the host, made us feel right at home. We also really enjoyed eating dinner in the screened-in porch and relaxing on the deck!
We spent a ton of time in Mammoth Cave National Park, which was only a 45 min drive away. We did the Historic Cave Tour, ziplined, and kayaked on the Green River. We also spent a day in Nashville (a 1.5 hour drive), and went on a great hike in Lafayette, TN (Red Oak to Milk Pail Trail). There was a lot of fun to be had, and this house was such a nice place to land each night. :)
I have to say this was literally the most pleasant place we’ve stayed.
The house is immaculately clean, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook over our stay and beds were very comfortable.
Everything felt very clean and well maintained. She even provided good quality shampoo and conditioner (I forgot mine and dreaded washing my hair), as well as plenty of towels wash cloths and blankets. There was laundry detergent available and was able to toss in a small load of laundry before I left. Not a huge proponent of doing laundry on a getaway, but the rest of my weekend was loaded and this helped when I got back.
The property manager/owner, Cindy, was also the absolute best, most pleasant person I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with. She even left us a little good box with freshly-made cookies.
I do not have anything negative to say about my stay. My family enjoyed our time together and thank them for opening their home up to us to spend a well-needed weekend together.
If we ever return to this part of Kentucky, this would be a place we would definitely stay if it’s available.
We loved the house, very clean and nicely detailed, and the host was very kind and responsive. Just be aware that this is off the beaten path with windy roads to reach (not the host's fault) but I guess we didn't realize how far it was from any town. And one of our primary goals was to get up every morning and fish, this was not possible with the condition of the "direct lake access". I knew there was no dock but you cross the little road in front of the house and make your way down the unsteady path, over logs, to the bottom where the little lakeshore "cove" was full of logs and some debris. Again, not the host's fault, but it was really disappointing. No fishing or taking a dip in the lake for the kiddos. We reached out to the host and she gave us an alternate location to fish at another property nearby, but we'd need to load up the truck and drive, and that access was also down some long steep stairs where the other property's guests were enjoying the lake, just didn't work. I recommend the house, just check out all the details before booking.
The property was exactly as pictured and have everything we needed. The owners were wonderful to work with. We would definitely stay here again!
