Bella Vista - A Mountain View Cabin

Bella Vista is a charming A-Frame sitting right on the edge of Lookout Mountain with miles of views right off the back deck. On a hot sunny day, enjoy hanging out by your own personal pool right next to the house. Inside the house, there is a queen bed on the main floor with full bath down the hall, queen bed in the loft, a king bed in the second bedroom with full bathroom attached. Full kitchen and laundry room available for guest use. On a clear night, enjoy the spectacular views of the stars that you can only get when you get away from the city. There are an abundance of things to do at your door step or just a short drive away. Guests have access to a pool with a large deck, fire pit, and tether ball. Within a 30 minute drive, there are 3 state parks to hike or chase waterfalls (Cloudland Canyon State Park, Desoto State Park and Falls, and Little River Canyon). You are minutes from the funky mountain town of Mentone, AL with amazing restaurants.

Not What I Thought

Family vacay after Xmas. This was not a cabin. This was a contemporary home. Stayed in Blue Ridge the previous year, in a cabin, in the mountains and it was beautiful. So when I booked this, I was hoping for the same (from what wasI read). We wanted to try a different area, same type of setting and it turned out not so. This home does not have a loft. It is a “sitting” area off the upstairs master. There is no privacy. This sat above the kitchen, dining and to the outside doors. So if someone doesn’t care, then this is for them. Master bath has horrible water pressure and shower door doesn’t stay closed. Also, it is definitely not in a quiet place in the mountain. It backs up to a road well traveled, has two neighbors on each side, one neighbor has a dog that constantly barks . For myself wanting the quiet, solitude of mountain time, it didn’t happen. The pool was covered, because of winter time, but it was gross. Water accumulated on top with a bunch of junk. We brought things to grill since it mentioned a grilling area. The grill was disgusting and not cleaned, the tank was empty, not changed over. Beautiful windows facing the mountain were dirty, with cob webs and what looked like dirt. Fire pit, a plus on our list but no starters or pokers, we had to wind up getting these. We stayed five days and paid a bit for this place. Not worth all of it and will not be back. There was a positive, the cute dog that visited us everyday( no barking) just cuteness!

Thanksgiving Weekend

The cabin was great. Great view, great kitchen and beds and great location. We enjoyed walking the lower dirt road with the neighbor dog. Visited Cloudland and DeSoto State Parks as well as Mentone. Would be fun to come back in the summer and enjoy the pool. Beautiful sun rise and sun sets were a plus! Highly recommend.

Lovely little cottage that was conveniently located with a beautiful view. Our family quite enjoyed our stay & the owners provided a great variety of kitchen utensils for our use.
