About this property
Ocotillo House: Gateway to Saguaro National Park
Near the Loop and a 4 minute drive to Saguaro National Park, our spacious, private home is perfect for the outdoor adventurist. After a day of hiking and desert exploration, relax in the spa and heated pool. Our Santa Fe style house has dedicated office space and an open floor plan, so its great for cooking meals and socializing. You’ll enjoy spectacular mountain views and breathtaking sunsets. Includes garage parking, W/D, fireplace, bbq. Located 25 minutes from downtown and the Tucson Airport.
-- The space -- Our home pays homage to the surrounding desert, with colors and objects that remind us of the amazing array of life teeming in our backyard. The house has an open floor plan with lots of light, so the rooms all flow into each other. The kitchen overlooks the living room, which makes it easy to prepare meals while interacting with other guests. The living room and primary bedroom both have Roku TVs. The living room is our cozy "rustic desert" area housing a large leather sectional with 3 recliners. Bedroom 1 has a private bathroom with an amazing custom built shower and dual vanities. This bedroom, which has a king bed, is on a separate wing of the house. Bedroom 2 has a California King bed and is our nod to the inspiring sunsets and natural beauty of the Sonoran dessert. Bedroom 3 has a queen bed and is comfy with a traditional southwestern feel. Bedroom 4 is a corner windowed office with a trundle bed, so it can be converted to a 2 twin bedroom.
The laundry facilities are great for extended stays and the 2.5 car garage has plenty of room for parking.
You'll likely spend much of your time in the backyard. We have a spacious lot with multiple seating/gathering areas and a stone wall around the perimeter. There's a plethora of native vegetation, such as ocotillos, saguaros, barrel cactus, prickly pear, and creosote bushes. BBQ grill is ready to go with 6 burners. The pool is great for those hot summer days. Pool heating is available for an extra $60/day (non-refundable). The spa is a great way to end the day (plan ahead - depending on the temperature, it takes 20 to 60 minutes to fully heat up).
We love our home and love our neighbors, so if you're looking to book a space for a party weekend, this place is not for you. We have zero tolerance for large, loud parties.
-- Guest access -- An access code will be sent on the morning of check-in. Parking in the 2 car garage is encouraged but there is also a large driveway available.
-- Other things to note -- Pool can be heated for an additional $60 per day to be remitted prior to arrival. Please make sure to pre-request pool to be heated as it takes up to 24 hours for it to warm to temperature. No refunds for this option.
No pets allowed No smoking No parties Must be 25 or older to book the property
Arizona is full of wildlife, including insects. Although we hire pest control service to keep bugs from getting in, please keep doors closed to help keep them outside.

Wonderful stay at this lovely home. Especially enjoyed the pool and well-equipped kitchen. The property was five minutes from Saguaro National Park East. Highly recommend!
What a great Host and Home! The living spaces are large, the pool / hot tub are awesome, and the stars at night, amazing! If you're staying in Tucson for whatever reason, you've gotta stay here!
Nice property and great location! Hot tub a plus. Spacious areas for our family to gather. Host(s) always available for questions and provided a helpful itinerary/list of places to visit and things to do while in the area. Thank you!

Thanks for staying with us, Katherine! We’d be happy to host you again next time.
We loved our stay at Ocotillo House. The home is very clean and spacious. We enjoyed the pool and outdoor areas which were clean and had shaded areas to sit. The location is close to restaurants and groceries. The owners, Matt and Clint checked in with us to make sure everything was ok. We would definitely stay here again.
Very nice house as described in listing. Close to hiking trails and National Park which is a plus. Communication with host was excellent. Would definitely return and highly recommend!
Loved staying at the Ocotillo House! The house was well appointed and had lots of great spaces to relax. The backyard patio was wonderful for morning coffee and bird watching and the sunsets from the pool area were beautiful! Communication with the hosts could not have been better. We loved our “home away from home”.
Clint and Matt have a very clean and well maintained property. Loved that it had a desert feel to it since not all properties in the area do. Our family enjoyed the pool and hot tub by day and loved relaxing on the back lanai in the evening. Such a peaceful place. Was a little surprised the pool was as cool as it was in June but I was the only one that really seemed to notice. We would definitely love to stay here again when we come to visit my brother and his family.

We live in Denver, Colorado but are drawn to the desert and all the unique experiences it provides.
Tucson serves as our gateway to the amazing Sonoran Desert. There are tons of hiking trails and outdoor activities so we always find somewhere new to explore. The wildlife is abundant and the flora is spectacularly unique - especially when the cactuses are in bloom. It’s magical!
The city of Tucson, nestled in between two mountain ranges, is known for its cutting edge cuisine and has a lively food scene. We love checking out new breweries and wineries. Tucson is big enough to offer anything you need but small enough to feel like it cares that you’re there.
Why they chose this property
Our home is minutes away from Saguaro National Park and tons of great hiking. We’re a bit away from downtown so we feel closer to the outdoors and appreciate the dark skies. You can gaze at the stars from the spa at night - it’s amazing! The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and our yard is full of native vegetation.
What makes this property unique
We’ve always loved the Sante Fe/adobe style houses so were immediately drawn to this house. The inside is modern, spacious, and open, which is ideal for family get togethers. Aside from the heated pool and in ground spa, the outside space is large and private. We commonly see an amazing array of birds and lizards visiting our yard. Quails stop in for an occasional visit. It feels so vibrant and full of life.
