Welcome to Helen, the third most-visited city in the state of Georgia behind Atlanta and Savannah! There are reasons why it's so fun to visit – The Bavarian-style buildings, vineyards, Unicoi State Park which offers a lake, trails through the Chattaahoochee National Forest that lead to the Anna Ruby and Raven Cliff waterfalls, and so much more. The alpine village is set against the beautiful backdrop of the Blue Ridge mountains, forest, and banks of river, making it a picturesque place to sightsee. Outdoor enthusiasts will love everything Helen has to offer: from kayaking, river rafting, hiking and biking trails, to even ziplining over the treetops. While Helen is small, it sure packs a punch. Nobody does Oktoberfest and Christmas like they do! They also boast plenty of family-friendly activities and landmarks for the historical buffs. Of course, there are an array of restaurants and shops to explore while you're wandering the cobblestone roads.
Inside the cottage, you'll feel as though you've crossed the threshold of comfort. There's soft furniture to gather round and watch a movie on the wall-mounted TV, warming yourselves up by the fireplace. The chef of your group will love preparing grand meals or snacks on-the-go in the full kitchen, boasting all the cupboard space you'll ever need. Enjoy the rustic decor in every bedroom, with a soft bed to lay your head on from the day's adventures. For those who need to take the office with them, there's a dedicated workspace in the main bedroom, as well as an en-suite bathroom with a spacious, walk-in shower. Indulge in rocking in the rocking chairs on the large porch, sipping your morning coffee as you watch a Georgia sunrise.

Within walking distance to downtown Helen. Despite a couple check in issues, this is a nice house in a great location.

Great little cabin
This is great little cabin right in ton. Just park off load and walk to any place you want in town. The cabin was very comfortable and simply beautiful. Will definitely book again.
The cottage was even nicer in person than the pictures indicated. The location was great. We were able to walk to shops and restaurants easily. Know that this cottage has an address on one street, but actually faces another street, which confused us at first.
Great location. Huge management problem. When we arrived at 7 p.m. there was NO WATER. The person I spoke with from the management company said I'd hear from someone within the hour. Fortunately, my husband is handy and he found the meter out in the yard and turned the water back on. Also, they later told us we'd have to turn the breaker back on for the water heater. They knew we were arriving that day and should have checked the property before our arrival.

We are very sorry for the issues you experienced with the water upon your arrival. This is certainly not the vacation experience we strive to provide our valued guests, and we truly apologize for this oversight. We are glad that both issues were resolved during your stay. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again for an improved experience.

Christmas Bachelorette
Location was a 10/10, we happened to be there when the weather was 30 degrees. The very back bedroom is the coldest and the hot water only last for two showers and we had 6 girls so we had to schedule showers which was annoying but over all the stay was good the address was misleading but we figured it out. Needs more parking only 1 car is allowed

It's wad clean but shower don't have hot water
Couches needs to be upgrade. Property address must ne more clear as its on back street of union street its not on union Street. And specially 290B cabin number should be visible at night too it was too har for me to find it at night. As there wad car park in parking and cabin number was not at all visible at night so it took me too long to find it.

Perfect location
Great location and within walking distance to downtown. Older place but renovated with new couch and cute kitchen, rooms nice size and we loved the front porch. Everything you would need and clean. Cozy but mattresses are extremely hard in all rooms. The plugins used for smell made us sick the first night. We had to unplug them and open the door for several hours while we sat on porch. If you have breathing issues or sensitive like I am, beware. We killed multiple spiders each night in the back part of the cabin. Spiders would even come out in the shower. Definitely needs to be taken care of. Overall we would definitely stay there again. Easy check in and out. Again, great location!

Hi Brian, Thank you for your compliment, and we appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your valuable feedback. We are truly sorry to hear about the issues you encountered with the plugins used for smell and the presence of spiders in the cabin. We understand how these problems can significantly impact your comfort and overall experience, and we regret any distress this may have caused during your stay. We still hope you enjoyed and had a great time, and we can't wait to host you again in one of our homes for another exceptional experience.
This rental is in a great location. We walked everywhere with ease. Right behind the grocery store and several restaurants very close. The rest of town was an easy stroll and certainly much better than fighting the traffic and locating parking.
Inside the unit, we found a clean, cozy, well-equipped home. The living room furniture is very comfortable but is starting to be worn but not a big deal to us. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of towels in the bathrooms.
The one very small negative was that we expected to find a digital keyboard to open the door since we had been sent a code. When there was only a regular door knob, we began looking for a lockbox. Took us a minute to locate it! Maybe a hint in the check in instructions would be helpful.
We would definitely stay here again!

We truely enjoyed our stay at Little Bear Retreat 1. Location is where it’s at… everything is within walking distance .. grocery’s store is 30 second away… extra parking is across the front door at the church .. (just make a donation). The rental was extremely cleaned, cozy, and had everything we needed. Will definitely book this rental again.
