The location is very advantageous for surfers. The surfing spot Playa del Viejo Rey can be reached on foot in about 7 minutes and windsurfers drive 5 minutes by car to Matas Blancas or 12 minutes to Sotavento / Risco El Paso. All year round you have either wind or wave (or both). The spots in the south at Jandia can be reached in 20 minutes, the Northshore / Corralejo / Cotillo can be reached in about an hour.
