Perfect little cabin 😌
I was overall impressed with our cabin and the property. We brought our family and met up with friends who shared the other side of cabin. Highly recommend! Might be a little awkward with strangers. I loved that our side had a kitchen and a tub. I loved that there were grills we could barrow and bring over to our site as well as the community fire pits. We loved exploring the trails and pond. We wished we would've brought fishing poles! The cabin was so clean and comfortable with just the right amount of "rustic" to make the kids feels like they are camping lol. Most of all, the host, Linda, was so nice and responded quickly with any questions I had. Can't wait to come back!

Lovely getaway
The cabin is very clean, comfortable, and inviting. I loved having breakfast /coffee on the screened-in porch in the morning. The walking trails and grounds offer a variety of areas to explore nature.

Great Experience
I really loved this rental property! It was quiet and felt remote but was right on the edge of town and five minutes from downtown Arcadia. There are multiple trails on the private property to explore and I wish I had spent more time exploring the adjacent farm/pond for fishing! I love coffee so the coffeemaker that uses coffee pods was a great addition. (There's also an excellent coffee shop on Main St. in Arcadia that I'd recommend.) Since my goal was to also relax on this trip, it was nice to enjoy Netflix during my downtime. This particular cabin had a screened-in porch and seating that lent to the peaceful setting. I'm sure it's beneficial to those staying in the summer to fend off the bugs! There are multiple parks/sites to visit within a reasonable driving distance (think 15-30 minutes). But please wear appropriate footwear! For those unfamiliar with this region, it is very rocky. A few extra washcloths, dishcloths, towels, and hand towels would've been great. I did a lot of cooking in the cabin, hiking, and spent a lot of time outdoors so I need some extra showers! The host was very communicative and the directions were excellent (as far as finding the location and getting checked in). I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to others!

NYE getaway
My boyfriend, our two medium sized bird dogs, and I stayed over the holiday weekend. The cabin was the perfect amount of space for the four of us. It was rustic, cozy, and very clean. There are many great places to eat nearby and there are outdoor adventures all around Arcadia. Perfect spot to stay.

My husband and I moved to the Valley back in 2014. We bought the Iron County Farms next to this property in 2013, which was once a Thoroughbred farm. We decided to run cattle on it. In 2020 we turned one of our big barn lofts into a wedding venue. Keeping the original woodwork of this beautiful 100-year-old barn intact. It's definitely one of a kind. In August of 2021 We had the chance to purchase this wonderful 38 acres that sits adjacent to our farm, that would give us 3 additional venues, plus 6 Cabins. We were so excited for this new property. In January of 2022 we finally took over ownership of this beautiful property and in May of 2022 decided to share our cabins with all of you! We hope you love them and the property as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

The thing we enjoy most about this property is its beauty and history. We love that it's just a mile outside of town, but you feel a million miles away.

What makes this property unique

In the early 1900's this property was a Methodist kid's camp called Epworth Among the Hills. The big Pavillion you will see on the hill of this property is from the 1904 World's Fair of St. Louis. The two-story red Mission House was established in 1907 and was where the missionaries would stay. Alot of kids spent their summers on this beautiful property. The camp shut its doors in the late 1990's and new owners bought it in 2001 and did a wonderful job refurbing all the original cabins and the Riverstone lodge. The boy cabins still sit in the original state but gutted and new roofs until we decided how we want to refurbish them. My husband and I owning the farm next door and turning one of our 100-year-old barns into a wedding/event venue, when this property became available to purchase, we didn't have to think twice. We took over ownership in January of 2022. We changed some furnishing inside the cabins, installed charter and some TV's. Then in May of 2022 we decided to put the cabins on short term rental sites so everyone could come and enjoy the beauty and history of this best kept secret in the Valley. We also do large and small group retreats, with or without meals, weddings and all other events. So, when you come and stay with us, take some time to walk around and breathe in a little bit of history.
