Cozy cabin.
We stayed over Thanksgiving. Katie was kind and found local restaurants that would be open. The cabin was decorated for Christmas, cute and cozy. We were slightly disappointed the lake in the pictures was not on the property.
My husband and I visit family in the area regularly and normally stay with them but this time we ventured out and wanted a place to stay for some down time. I am so happy I ran across this little place!! Was nice and made our visit even better! Great host, everything we needed was there and available for us. Will definitely stay again if available when we are visiting!
I was impressed that the property manager decorated the bedroom for my grandson and wife on their wedding night. The cabins are clean and a very, quiet, peaceful area.
My sister, brother, sister-in-law and I stayed in the larger cabin. We had a great time and enjoyed the stay.
The first time I missed the driveway but had been traveling all day.
Highly recommend it to anyone!

This served as a perfect base of operations for visiting the Shut Ins and seeing Ironton’s Mountain Music Festival.
Being on the backside of Shepard Mountain it’s super quiet and separated from the world… but town is only a few minutes away around on the other side of the base of the mountain.
It had everything you would want in an experience if you were camping, like a fire pit, endless stars, and all the quiet of being remote in the forest alone…. But inside it’s nice the cabin , clean, all freshly redone with all of the comforts of home including WIFI and AC.
We loved our stay and will be back. Thanks Katie!!

This was a perfect little cabin for a long weekend stay. Lots to love about it!
Pros:
- Very close to town, which made getting groceries & supplies very easy. Also close to a couple of great restaurants if you don’t feel like cooking.
- The cabin was extremely clean. I didn’t feel like I had to clean before we unpacked or used the bathroom, etc
- Even though it’s between two other cabins, we found it very quiet, and the fire pits for each cabin are spaced far enough away that it felt private.
- The bed was super comfy, and the shower had plenty of hot water for two long showers.
- TVs in both rooms had Roku, so we were able to log into our Hulu account and watch our shows at night. Also a ton of DVDs in the various drawers to choose from.
- The owner could not have been a nicer human being, and was responsive to texts when we had any questions. She made our stay lovely!
Cons:
- Would be nice to have a dishwasher. I like to cook, so we spent a lot of time hand-washing dishes.
- Ditto on having a washer/dryer. Since we were doing outdoorsy stuff every day, we had to pack a bunch of damp, muddy clothing home, and I’d have loved to wash and dry them at the cabin.
- The couch in the living room wasn’t particularly soft, or roomy enough for two adults to lounge around on. It’s also on the other side of the room from the TV, so we ended up watching TV in the bedroom instead.
- Wifi was slow/spotty during our stay, though when it worked, it was nice to have!
The cabin was very clean and inviting. We enjoyed using the fire pit and bbq grill. Having a full size refrigerator was a bonus. Great place!!!2 suggestions 1. The tv internet did not work very good. And possibly have a tv in the living room. 2. Change the shower curtain rod to a curved rod. It’s a game changer especially for a big guy.
This little cabin worked well for me and my daughter to stay while hiking in the area. The bed and futon were comfy and the kitchen had most everything we needed.
