Great weekend getaway with my best friend. Found so many great places to eat, a great bar in walking distance, and most importantly, the restorative cup of coffee in morning at the river's edge with a breeze. 7th District Waterfront has a fantastic Chesapeake Eggs Benedict
We have stayed here several times and each time I never want to leave. The view of the river is so beautiful. Kim supplies everything you could need or want. This is such a relaxing house and property. I just left a few days ago and I am ready t go back!
Our family enjoyed our stay. We arrived on a very hot day and it was nice and cool inside. Spectacular views, very well stocked house..we even saw a dolphin and lots of fish jumping. My daughter and grandson spent time in the hammock which was fun and if you're from the city, you will love this place...so quiet and peaceful.
This was an adorable house and had everything we needed for our short stay. My husband and daughter loved hammock out back. It was a great place to come back to at night for resting and relaxing after a couple of busy days with family. The owner was very sweet and she was easy to contact if we needed anything.
We had a great time fishing, kayking, walking, running, and lounging. We are an active family and enjoyed the many opportunities for outdoor fun in the area. There are many parks and beaches, not to mention the river access in the backyard. Thank you for the hospitality and for the use of your beautiful, well kept, clean, comfortable home.
I was looking for a nice, quiet, and relaxing, vacation. This property did not disappoint. The house was comfortable, cozy, well stocked, and so clean. The view is incredible. Just sitting outside watching the river was so "Zen". I had one of the most restful vacations ever. I was there for a little over two weeks and I would have stayed longer if I could have, Kim, the host, was very friendly and helpful. I look forward to staying at this beautiful property again.
The property was very good. The house was beautiful. I had a challenge getting the information of how to gain access into the house. When I went into Vrbo it directed me to the property manager. The only information there was confirmation numbers. I was at the property the day of trying to get the information.
Nothing is more relaxing to me than sitting in an Adirondack chair, gazing at the water, and enjoying a cool breeze. Add a few ospreys weaving in the bright blue sky overhead, and you have a pretty much perfect day. We loved staying here & hope we can come back. The house is spacious and comfortable and, although it was just the two of us, I could see a big family enjoying all the games. Very thoughtful of the hosts to label all the kitchen cabinets 😁
This is the second time I have vacationed at this property, within a year. I love this place. I feel so at home and the view of the river never gets old. Kim has done everything a person can do to make the house comfortable and appealing. As soon as I pull in the driveway, I feel so relaxed and reality melts away. I sure didn't want to leave today! Thanks, Kim, for sharing your beautiful house and property with the rest of us.
Very nice place. Plenty of room. Only problem we had was when we (4 adults and 4 kids) arrived at 9 pm there was only about 1/4 roll of toilet paper in one bathroom and none in the other bathroom. Thank goodness we knew someone local who could help us otherwise it would have been 40 minute drive to a store to buy some. Next time I’ll be sure to bring some.
We came to Maryland for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. The house was a perfect location - right on the water, close to my sister. The atmosphere inside the house was friendly and inviting. The hostess did a wonderful job making us feel welcome, including a card and bottle of wine for my parents (which just added to joy my parents experienced this past weekend). She even allowed my parents' brothers and sisters and cousin to come over for dinner on Saturday night. I hadn't seen most of my aunts and uncles in several years. My mom never stopped smiling. I cannot thank Kim enough for allowing us to stay there this past weekend, and for helping make this a great weekend for my parents!!
I want to rate my stay as 10/10 but can’t because of the plastic mattress pads that cover the entire mattress and are zippered on. The 4 of us ended up sleeping on top of blankets and comforters and still did not rest well. Plastic doesn’t breathe and we found we were constantly sweaty wherever we were touching the bed.
Everything else was great. It’s very peaceful and out of the way, but plan for a drive if you’re going to sightsee. Also, we looked forward to fishing of a morning but the public pier is locked from 8 PM to 8 AM.
All beaches are private property, so no swimming unless you travel 30-45 minutes.
I helped my daughter and some of her teammates conduct a Quidditch (now Quadball) camp in Leonardtown. The house could sleep 8 or 9 (counting couches) comfortably, but we had a maximum of 4 on any given night. After a very hot day of Quidditch camp, going back to a clean, comfortable house with air conditioning to recharge was heavenly! My shih tzu loved the yard! Having a full kitchen made this package complete and far better than the hotel in which we were originally going to stay. The location was great as well: next to the Potomac with awesome views! The house was very clean. The shower and toilet in the laundry room were a big plus. I would definitely stay here again!
The property was very clean and the beds comfortable. We brought our dog and she liked it too. There is a beach down the road, but we opted for other activities. The AC worked well. The tap water smelled sulfuric, but there was plenty of drinking water in a Deer Park style cooler, so it was fine. The grill was full of propane which was very nice. The oven was so classic it brought be memories of my grandmother's house. Plenty of clean linens and fully stocked kitchen. Would recommend a wisk and tongs though. Great water view and quiet neighborhood.
