San Diego stay
Property was just fine with the exception of the dishware and basic kitchen tools. There were only two coffee cups and no corkscrew for the wine.

Not yout typical rental
We stayed at this property for three nights. We were pleased to find that it was in a safe neighborhood and that the host was very responsive. Everything in the home was in great working order. I was impressed by the quality of the furnishings, appliances, cookware, right down to the hairdryer (T3! probably a $150 dryer). Our favorite part of the rental was using the fire pit in the courtyard. It was nice to be able to gather and enjoy the company of our group without being disturbed. I would definitely stay at this property again if I were to return to San Diego.

East, convenient, spacious place to stay
Great place to stay in SD. Best thing — covered RESERVED parking spot. Huge plus. Especially since street parking is usually full, and we got upgraded with our rental vehicle (yes, thankful for the full size SUV, but parallel parking?? Lol ) The kitchen has everything you need — all the dishes, dishwasher, full refrig, and washer and dryer. Family room + TV— kids were able to pull up Netflix, HBO plus, etc everything we have at home. Beds are very comfortable. Much of SD is in the flight pattern, so we greatly appreciated the white noise machines! All in all, a very easy place to stay. We will rebook when we come back.

We live in nearby Coronado and love to spend time in Golden Hill.

Why they chose this property

Our two sons and we bought the Old Post Office in December of 2020. We thought the location near Downtown and the many nearby amenities made it perfect for short term stay.

What makes this property unique

So walkable! Explore the neighborhood on our website:

Located at one of the highest points in the Golden Hill, the white block building originally served as Golden Hill's Post Office from the mid 1960's until it was converted into unique loft style apartments in 2015. Known for its wide tree lined streets, beautifully preserved historic homes and views to the canyons and cityscape, Golden Hill has become the latest "place to be" for new trendy restaurants and handsome contemporary residential infill projects.

In April of 2022 Loft 2 was fully renovated and features a custom kitchen with 8-foot-long island, porcelain floors, striking artwork and designer furniture. The 12-foot ceilings and skylights enhance the bright and open architectural elements of the "Post Office Lofts".

The 3 bedroom and 2 bath space measures 1,200 SF including the private patio outfitted with a fire pit , BBQ and seating area. At night the cafe lights offer glowing ambiance for entertaining.

Centrally located, the "Post Office Lofts" are near Balboa Park with its many museums and attractions, the world-famous San Diego Zoo and the Balboa Golf Course. The building is also in walking distance to nightlife at the Turf Supper Club, trendy Kingfisher restaurant, family-friendly Pizza Luigi, Counter Point American bar and bistro, Dark Horse Coffee, Kindred Bar and Bistro, the original Buona Forchetta Italian restaurant, Thai 55, Sojourn Yoga and Krisp Beverage + Natural Foods.

The Downtown business center is a five-minute drive, the vibrant "Little Italy" neighborhood is 8 minutes, San Diego Airport 10 minutes and a twelve-minute drive takes you to the beautiful Coronado beach.
