About this property

Pisgah View Place - Your Mtn Retreat West of Asheville

When you catch sight of breathtaking Mt. Pisgah on the crest of Musterground Hill, you will know you're near Pisgah View Place. Stay & play like locals in our bright, stylish mountain cottage, with a huge back yard and stunning views. Enjoy PVP as a home-base retreat for your WNC adventure! Best of both worlds-15 mins of ethereal pastoral scenery to the Blue Ridge Pkwy, & 20 mins to DT AVL! After an adventure day, watch sunset turn to moonrise through the pine trees as you unwind by the fire.

Pisgah View Place is a clean, tidy, and well appointed/updated 1930's era, 2 bed, 1 bath, (780 sq. feet) cottage; it comfortably accommodates up to 4 adults, with central heat and A/C (in every room!). Styled for comfort, rest and relaxation, PVP is your ideal Appalachian retreat. Reconnect with loved ones, or simply yourself, while watching lightning bugs from the back deck, or binge-watching Netflix on the day-bed sofa. While not a luxury listing, PVP has every needed amenity to retreat to WNC, slow down, and enjoy the simple lifestyle. The property lies on a roomy .6 acres, with a large fenced back yard, all for your enjoyment.

The living Room is designed with comfort and simple elegance in mind. The 55 in. high definition, smart TV is equipped with ROKU and complementary Netflix (access to your other streaming services as well). Wind down and snuggle up your loved ones for an ultra cozy movie night, on the couch's queen-size day bed. Rainy day in WNC got you down? No problem! Break open a board game (ex-Bob Ross the Art of Chill), puzzle, or pour a cup of French Press coffee and curl up with one of our books by the window, watching the fog rise up off the Blue Ridge.

The Pisgah View Place has a fully stocked kitchen, waiting for you to prepare your favorite meal. An adorable retro refrigerator with freezer, microwave, oven, stove top, cutting board, and knife set for your use. Pots, pans, baking sheet, utensils, crock pot, toaster, saran wrap, aluminum foil, cooking oil, measuring cups, and full service for 5. If you're not going to Asheville for brunch- whip up your own-on the waffle iron! Kitchen also boasts a coffee cart- Kuerig, french press, tea kettle, with coffee (bag coffee/Keurig pods) and tea selection.

Bedroom 1 features a brand new, Green Tea memory foam Queen mattress, bedside tables with charging ports, and a mounted smart TV (with complementary Netflix). There is a large dresser, cozy reading chair, and lovely sunset views of Warren Ridge from the large windows (black out curtains and blinds for a restful night's sleep).

Bedroom 2 also has a brand new, Green Tea memory foam Queen mattress, with bedside tables, reading lamps, dresser, cozy and cute reading chair, and mountain views (black out curtains and blinds-sleep is important at PVP!).

Bathroom has a dual shower head with bathtub. Towels, washcloths, Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, and makeup remover pads provided. Clothing iron and compact ironing board in bathroom closet for your convenience.

Laundry room contains washer, dryer, basket, and detergent.

The backyard is the gem at Pisgah View Place! Sunset drinks, sunrise coffee, late night fires and music, and rainy afternoons, all enjoyed from the comfort of the backyard. A large carport covers the firetable (can be moved), four Adirondack style chairs, and the over-size vintage picnic table. Challenge your loved ones to a game of corn hole, while grilling supper (gas grill). For parents with younger children, the large, fully-fenced back yard can be an added safety measure.

Sweet country home

We had a wonderful time here. The home is lovely, very clean, cozy and full of small thoughtful touches. It was easy travel to all kinds of sights in the area and a great place to relax in the evening.

Cute cottage, great location!

What a great little house! We stayed here for a wedding in Asheville, it is a perfect location between Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The house itself has been beautifully redone and felt very secluded. The backyard is definitely a highlight, cancelled a reservation downtown to enjoy brunch by the firepit with mountain views! Janna was wonderful with communication prior to our stay, making check in simple. Would love to stay here again!

A great place with mountain views!

This is a great place to stay while enjoying the Ashville area and the surrounding towns. Close to hiking and other outdoor activities. The host was so helpful - offered great suggestions for places to eat and things to do. If we plan to stay in the Ashville area in the future, we won't hesitate to book Pisgah View Place!!!

I live in Canton, NC with my husband, Brandon, and our Bernese Mountain Dog, Little Sister (AKA Sis). I was born and raised on my old family home place, a couple of miles towards the parkway from Pisgah View Place. Although my husband is from Madison County, his family roots are in Upper Hominy as well. My husband and I enjoy fly fishing, floating down the Pigeon River (Canton), and renovating our 101 year old Canton mill house. We have spent our lives in WNC, and are excited about sharing our love for the area with future guests. We enjoy exploring breweries off the beaten path- we would happily point guests towards some under-acknowledged WNC spots. I work full time in the behavioral health crisis field, and my husband works in environmental conservation. Little Sister works on snoozing all day and preserving her energy for chasing squirrels (never successful)!

Why they chose this property

Pisgah View Place was built in the 1930's and lovingly kept by my cousin's family for several generations. My cousin kindly sold Pisgah View Place to me in 2017, as my first home. I was blessed to live in Pisgah View Place with my Bernese Mountain dog, Little Sister, and I cherish the dear years that we spent there. Now we hope to share this sweet little home with others seeking retreat.

What makes this property unique

Pisgah View Place has lovely mountain views with close proximity to the parkway. The small but efficient floor plan has lots of natural light in the kitchen, and is a cozy place to stay.

If you are looking for an outdoor adventure during your stay, considering booking my Dad's fly fishing guide service, S Scott on the fly! You can find him on Facebook, at https://www.facebook.com/sscottonthefly; or on instagram at @sscottonthefly
