The house smelled of antique wood, it was wonderful. The neighbors are very nice and accommodating as well. Lots of great restaurants nearby and the hosts were great! Will stay again.
My mom, three young sons and I stayed here while exploring Des Moines and we really enjoyed it. The house is cozy and it was so convenient to get everywhere we wanted to go from the location. Host was very prompt with communication. Would absolutely stay here again!
It was a very nice little house that met our needs. We especially loved the ice cream store and coffee shop down the street. The house had everything we need and was so charming.
Accommodating host helped us schedule a last minute booking in their very lovely and comfortable home. Plenty of room for our family of 6 with children ages 2-14 for our mini vaca. Loved the hints of historic and original charm in the home as well!
Beautiful property with comfortable furnishings and a kitchen with all the necessities (i.e... good coffee maker). Bathroom was small but functional, nice neighborhood, quick response from owners when I had a question about the TV.
This home was a perfect spot for our family of four. Each bedroom was roomy and comfortable. The kitchen containted everything we needed to cook and enjoy meals.
The property owners were very attentive and easy to reach when we had questions.
A group of friends enjoyed this weekend hanging out. Games were a hit and the out door area was a nice place to relax and play in. House was clean and inviting. Enjoyed sitting on the swing out front too!
This VRBO was perfect for our trip to this area. Sarah was very quick with communication before, during, and after our stay! This bungalow was a perfect mix of old and new from the design of this house to the decor and updated technology!!
Sarah and Chris were great hosts. House was as promised, clean, and close to downtown/all our planned activities. Had plenty of space, quiet evenings, and plenty of cooking/eating/sleeping space for a family of five. When we checked in there was a chirping smoke alarm - Chris was over within half an hour to address the “issue”. Would readily stay here again next time we’re in Des Moines.
In a great little Highland Park neighborhood, close to cafes, groceries, etc, we enjoyed an incredible few days. Though, not nice enough outside to enjoy the expansive yard, we did love the porch swing. The tv didn’t (really) work, but we enjoyed playing games and just hanging out. We’ll, definitely, consider staying again. Our hosts, Chris and Sarah were great.
The house was great; clean with nice sheets and towels. Both the back patio and front porch were great. Also, it was easy to get into town for sightseeing and shopping. It might be beneficial (for out of town quests) to note that it is in a transitional area. Another suggestion would be to add a small toaster and a plastic cutting board (we didn't know if we should use the ones on the wall so we didn't). Overall we loved the charm and cleanliness of the house, as well as the dishes and pans.
The hosts were wonderful to work with. Access to downtown was very easy and they made the house safe with the ring doorbell. The home was stocked with the kitchen and bathroom necessities. It was very clean and had a cute style. Definitely recommend for a weekend getaway with friends or family!
This is a lovely old craftsman style bungalow! It has a lot of the original woodwork such as built-in seating, bookcases, and a desk. It is quite lovely. The neighborhood is quiet, and the place was sparkling clean. Check-in was a breeze. Although we felt completely safe during our stay, a lady we met on one of our walks in the neighborhood mentioned that it is not safe to walk alone at night (this is probably true of many neighborhoods, though). We would stay again!
