Welcome to Barefoot Kona at Alii Point - Ideally situated between Magic Sands Beach and Kailua Village, the villa places you close to some of Kona’s best beaches, dining, shopping, and ocean activities.

This two-story oceanfront villa sleeps eight and offers spacious, open living surrounded by a lush tropical yard overlooking the sea. Enjoy the comfort and luxury of a home designed to give every guest a place to relax, unwind, and fully embrace island living.

Upstairs, you'll find a spacious primary suite featuring a king bed, a generous walk-in closet, an ensuite bath, and a private lanai with beautiful ocean views.

The upstairs landing offers a versatile bonus space—ideal as a work area with a 32" flat-screen monitor, or as a cozy spot for kids to play, read, or unwind. There is an additional twin bed here as well.

Downstairs has two bedrooms with queen beds and a full bath. You'll also find a fully equipped laundry room on this level.

The spacious living area, kitchen, and dining room open seamlessly to the lanai through floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, creating a bright and breezy indoor-outdoor feel. Enjoy a 70" smart TV for streaming your favorite shows, and relax on plush sofas or the cozy recliner—perfect for lounging or an afternoon nap.

The villa is well stocked with luxury linens and ample towels along with fun stuff like board games, puzzles and sand toys for the beach.

The kitchen is well equipped with small appliances, cookware and gadgets to make you feel right at home.

The Lanai/Patio area comes with comfortable lounge chairs, dining table and chairs and a gas grill.

For families visiting us with little ones, we also offer a high chair, step stools, baby bath tub, Pack n Play (no mattress) and a stroller for your convenience.

Safeway, Walmart, Target, Starbucks and many other stores are all within a 4 mile radius. Costco is approximately 8 miles away and Kona airport is around 11 miles.

Guest access
This home sits inside a gated community of 16 homes with access to an outdoor pool, a tennis court and lava rock beach.

Pool access - Guests have access to the gated pool just steps from the villa. Swim in the pool at your own risk, as no lifeguards are on duty. Small children need to be supervised at all times.

Beach access - Guests can use the key provided in the house to access the beach area, just steps across the house near house number 5. This is a lava rock beach like most beaches in Kona.

The guests will have access to the entire house, except for the garage and a couple cabinets that are locked to store additional supplies.

Parking is only allowed on the driveway. The HOA does not allow street parking.

On your way out, please take the trash out to the garbage receptacle. It is located outside the main gate on Ali'i Drive to your right as you head out.
Please put 4-5 towels or as will comfortably fit in the washing machine and start the cycle. Either load the white towels or the beach towels. Please do not mix.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

The home was amazing! It had everything we needed and more. Very nicely decorated and spacious. Ritika is a wonderful host. She was quick to respond to our questions. The location is perfect. Great place to stay

The place looks just like the photos. The house is spacious, clean, and quiet. My family enjoyed it very much. It has a great view of the ocean, and close to everywhere if you are going to spend most of your time in Kona. Keep in mind that you will need tennis shoes in case you are going to play. No running shoes allowed. We needed an extra hair dryer so the property manager was kind enough to get us another extra. We would love to visit again! It felt like home!

Beautiful house but not exactly as advertised

We stayed in this property for 5 nights. The good- It is a beautiful home in a nice location. The not so good-I found the property manager not very responsive. Before our trip I'd emailed her a question. I never got a response. I emailed a second time and did receive a response then. Also, I did not receive the front door code several days before our arrival as promised. The night we arrived I called and emailed the property manager. When I did get in touch with her she told me it was sent in the VRBO app (which I don't have). All of our communication prior had been done through the website and I expected the entry information to be through the same channels. I feel like she's lacking in communication. The guest information book notes to keep counters clean and doors closed because they do have a bug problem for which they spray monthly. Our first day there the small ants began showing up all over the counter. We didn't leave food out on the counter and wiped it clean after each use. The bugs were so bad that one morning at breakfast the ants were crawling all over the plate of bacon 5 minutes after I'd finished cooking before it had been plated! We also had a huge cockroach in our main bedroom one night. The "beach" is a very rocky and rough area next to an apartment complex that is not beautiful, appealing or accessible. The pool is closed through 08/23 and we were not told about this ahead of time. I only found out when I asked the manager for the code.

Why they chose this property

The Big Island in Hawaii is a very special place. Not only is it the biggest of Hawaii's island, it also is one that experiences different weather systems and patterns. My family and I found that very appealing. You could at one moment be on a warm sunny beach enjoying a relaxing ocean swim., and then choose to drive up the mountains and enjoy a completely different micro climate of rain and snow (yes that right!). We dreamed of making ourselves a part of this island in some way.

So when this house (that we lovingly have since named The Barefoot Bungalow) came on the market, we knew it was meant to be. It was a family friendly house set in a perfect idyllic location right by the ocean. It also gave us the sense of community and security - being one of just 16 houses in a gated community with wonderful neighbors that embody the island spirit.

The vibe and energy of the island, the community and this house never fail to energize me. Its the perfect vacation spot where you can choose to do as much or as little as you'd wish for.

What makes this property unique

Barefoot Bungalow is a spectacular 2 story villa right on the oceanfront. It is part of a community of just 16 homes that are in a botanical garden like setting, surrounded by lush island greenery, while providing modern amenities. The property has access to the beach through a special entrance - and the views are simply breathtaking.

You can spend hours on the lanai staring out into the garden, and beyond into the ocean. It's the perfect spot to catch the sunset, while sipping a glass of wine (at least that's what I do :-))

It is located about 2 miles from Kailua Village which has a wonderful island and beach front vibe to it. This house has been a wonderful getaway for my close friends and family, and that's what i hope will be your experience as well.
