Stonehaven offers the ideal get-away for those who simply want to enjoy many of the comforts of modern life in a relaxed setting. The home is tastefully decorated with many unique antiques and wood carvings from Japan, providing a nice merge of Eastern and Western cultures.

Designed for socializing, the open living room, dining room and kitchen area provide the perfect location for family gatherings. On a warm summer's evening, continue the merriment outside on the spacious front deck. As the sun sets, enjoy s'mores at the campfire as you listen to the loon's evening call. The stone filled beach front will provide hours of entertainment for avid rock-skippers in the group.

With two full bedrooms and an additional loft, Stonehaven comfortably sleeps 7 guests. Constructed in 2000, the house is conveniently located near Pigeon Cove, midway between the ferry and four-corners.

Wake early, enjoy a quiet coffee on the deck. The house is located at an ideal kayaking location -- within easy paddling of some geocache sites on the neighboring islands.

What an amazing place to stay! We do not want to go home! The house is in a great location as a home base. The views of the water calms the soul and lowers your BP immediately. The host was amazingly accommodating to us. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and more. The porch was lovely for morning coffee and watching the loons and otters. We had a great night of campfire and stargazing. The beds were cozy and warm. Be sure to check out Esther’s for the best Mexican and customer service! The hosts at this Stonehaven have really thought of every comfort, by far the best VRBO experience I have ever had! I would love to come back for a longer stay someday! Thank you so much!

Stovehaven is truly magical. The kitchen is very well stocked (and this coming from a home chef), the home is clean, the beds are fabulous, and of course, the view just takes your breath away. Everything is just wonderful. You can't beat the location being close to the ferry, but only about 10 minutes from "town" (shops and a couple places to eat, carry outs, gas, etc.) but only 20 minutes from the local ATV rental too. The highlight - for us, as birders - however, was the birds. If you are interested in birds, or an avid birder, this cottage is a perfect location for Ravens, Eagles, and Warblers! We saw everything from Black and White Warblers, to having resident Black-Throated Greens, a Ruby-Throat, and so many more! We would gladly return here to this incredible place.

This home has a gorgeous view of the water and is very conveniently located. We loved exploring the island and were able to navigate some of the trails with our pickup truck. The fall colors were beautiful and the weather was mild enough to enjoy the fire pit near the shoreline. Very relaxing vacation.

We were looking for a quiet week of rest and reconnection and we sure found it on Drummond island! There are lots of outdoor adventures and activities, but we were most content sitting outside and enjoying the water. The Wi-Fi was strong so we were able to get some work done, but I’m already missing the peace and tranquility of this home.

A fourth generation Islander, Amy always dreamed of owning waterfront property on Drummond Island. After graduating from college, she traveled to Japan and taught at a Department of Defense School on a military base. She returned that summer with the down payment for her dream. One year later, her boyfriend proposed to her on the rocks by the shore, the following summer they married on Drummond Island. Then,the took the plunge and started building what they affectionately referred to as their "summer retirement home." Three years later, construction was finished in preparation for their first child. Since then, returning to Stonehaven for part of the summer has become an annual pilgrimage, complete with boating, berry picking, hiking, baking, family gatherings, board games, kayaking, bingo nights and campfires.

Why they chose this property

Every time I pull up to the house and see the lake and islands off in the distance, I breathe a huge sigh. No matter the weather, the view is amazing and makes me pause and appreciate life.

On a practical note, I like being half-way between the ferry and the four corners (town). You can escape, yet have the relative convenience of getting either to town or heading off the Island.

What makes this property unique

The home is filled with many warm memories from our years in Japan and our summers on the Island. Enjoy the one-of-a-kind Japanese wood pieces and decorations that became part of the home design.
