I would Keep looking
Where do I start. First of all the place is a MOTOR COURT NOT A HOME!! The place looks like it was built in the 50s. It is in desparate need of updating. I climbed up to turn on the ac the top of the ac was covered with grease like no one had cleaned it in a while, the coffee pot was greasy as well. I was surprised not even basic cable? Just a roku with a weak wifi signal. had to reconnect the wifi almost every 10 minutes. I called customer service about it an was told to unplug the wifi wait 5 minutes and plug back in. That fixed it but only for about 10 minutes at a time. It is extreamly difficult to watch tv that way. The toaster is dangerous. I tried to make toast, it filled the room with smoke and set off the fire alarm which was extreamly dificult to silence due to the place being filled with smoke. The toaster was on the LOWEST SETTING. When I went to move the toaster I almost got 3rd degree burns it was as hot on the OUTSIDE as it was on the inside that is NOT normal. No hair dryer. seriously, you can provide shampoo, body wash and conditioner in the shower but no hair dryer? I called customer service again about all these issues. Once I FINALLY got someone to answer. I expressed my greivences and was told someone would CALL me. No one EVER called all I got was people texting me. This text went on ALL day and into the night. I would start texting with someone they would ask me a question, I would answer and maybe an hour or more later I would get a response. seemingly from someone else because they would ask for the confirmation number again. this went on all day and night. One of the last texts I got was at 11:38 PM!!! The last text I got was at 12:59AM!!! The customer service is TERRIBLE!!! The last text was saying sorry I'll make a note of the situation. That is absolutly RIDICULOUS!!! Earlier in the day they had said "I'm going to let them know your expectations for a resolution" "Kindly look out for the update from our team" There was NEVER any talk about compensation or anything. The lake was inaccessable for someone with mobility issues, 3 slippery rocks to get into the water? or junp 3 foot down or jump off the dock...unacceptable. They need to install some REAL steps.
Do not rent here- the property has bed bugs. I was contacted by the host while I was staying on property to let me know bed bugs had been found on the property. After weeks of back and forth and a refund promised through vacasa, they told me I was not eligible for a refund. Vacasa customer service is THE ABSOLUTE WORST company to deal with. They are full of false information and do not follow through with any request.

King Birch Lake home.
So glad we were able to find it. There is NO sign on the motel,so thankfully I recognized it by pictures.
Also.if you have mobility issues,as I do,the walkway is uneven and unlit.
However, the unit itself is very clean and has all the necessities,so for that 3 stars. It would be 5 without the issues aforementioned.

Clean, organized, nice, affordable
The location and price were our decision maker. Beautiful spot on the lake and not too far from the Kanc to see the fall colors. It was also clean.
Nice location on the lake, with a dock, and rock steps into the water for swimming. The lake has a sandy bottom quite far out, in a little bay. The property looks nice on the outside, and the rooms have all the amenities described. The room we were in is outdated, and needs to be updated, and brighten up. Than was the downside to this place.
Beautiful little gem. Reminds us of the "Rosebud Hotel" without any of the issues. Could not have had a better view of the lake and central to everything we did.
Great location, clean, friendly people. Access to the lake was fantastic. Will definitely book again.

Quiet and Cozy
We were nervous about the outdated interior of the place. But as soon as you get there, you realize that it's a hidden gem. We swam off the dock and enjoyed the lake all day. Very clean!
