Nice house; Limited locale
The house was adequate for our stay. Kitchen was decent with plenty of utensils. Nice washer/dryer though we didn't use it. Plenty of hot water. AC/Heat worked well. The bed was not like home but also ok. Bring your own pillow. So, 4 stars for the house. 2 stars for the neighborhood and description. Only upon final check in were we given the instructions which included 'do not stop on the driveway and use low gear'. It's STEEP.! I couldn't see the pavement over the hood of my truck; I had to follow the 3 ft tall reflectors. And you have to do a very tight 3 point turn or reverse down. I researched and selected the property because we could bring our dog. But we couldn't walk her. There's a large black dog, fenced in, below which barked loudly whenever we were on the porch. There was another large black and white dog below which was loose. It also barked and patrolled the road. So we could only exercise our dog in the back, on a leash. So we paid extra to bring a pet and couldn't walk her despite some great weather.

Cool getaway
All 3 of us thoroughly enjoyed our week! The cabin is very clean and accommodations were as described. Sleeping was great, area cool & quiet. We brought our groceries and had good meals right there, grilling most evenings. Hiking trails involved easy driving to trailheads and were just gorgeous. Autumn colors were just beginning to show!

Absolutely wonderful ❤️
It was an amazing place to stay for the couple of nights we were there. We're so in love with it that we're looking into buying a house somewhere in North Carolina in the mountains for the summer time. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay there .

We thoroughly enjoyed your cabin! It was cozy and inviting! We do have a couple of recommendations.
We did have to purchase trash bags and toilet paper. The lightbulb in the master bedroom overhead light was out, and the toilet seat was broken. The shower head would not hang up on the fixture. A couple of end tables and lamps would be great in the living room. We did have a wonderful time and thank you for your hospitality and patience!!!!

I am a mother of two amazing girls who has benefited from disconnecting from a busy life in this beautiful nature treasure. Enjoy this hidden gem in them midst of the Great Smoking Mountains. I fell in love with the Nantahala National Forest for the diversity of its plant and animal life, the beauty of its ancient mountains, and its history of southern Appalachian Mountain culture. I fell in love with Blue Ridge Parkway! There are beautiful scenic drives with waterfalls and breathtaking mountain views nearby and an awe-inspiring view of the mountains. You will not regret!

Why they chose this property

Local breweries are within minutes of the home as the cabin is centrally located. The Lazy Hiker is on Main Street (8 mins away). They have music and sometimes a food truck outside. There are also nice fine dining options at Highlands via 64 (36 mins away) and in Downtown Franklin. Cataloochee Ski Area is located about one hour away. On the road to Highlands, you will run into beautiful waterfalls. For a lovely hike, go to Whiteside Mountain. From Highlands, head to Cashiers. It’s on the right, a small sign. If you want to feel like you are on top of the world, please visit Wayah Bald Lookout Tower. There are some social media pages you might be interested in following. “Discover Franklin NC” and “What’s up Franklin” and “North Carolina Hiking and Waterfalls”.

What makes this property unique

Cherokee is 35 miles away and fishing is all around the area. There are several fishing areas with one only 7.6 miles away (about 10 minutes) of the property. Cataloochee Ski resort is 55 miles away (About 60 minutes away). We are 77 miles from Ashville Regional Airport (1 hour) and 135 miles (2 hours) from Atlanta Airport. Western Carolina University University in Cullowhee is only 28 minutes away. The easy accessibility to all the attractions with a modern touch to a cabin makes this a special place. Kids and pets also love this property!
