Stayed here and absolutely loved it! Great communications from the owners from booking to leaving. The tent house was perfect and even had a private hot tub so the dog can roam or lay in the sun. We did a 4 mile hike and although we missed the canoe due to time, we couldn't be happier for our relaxing stay! Will definitely visit again

A wonderful weekend away!
We had considered a weekend away of "glamping" and found BaseCamp online. It looked perfect! Not too far from the highway and easy to get to. Not too big and not too small to experience "glamping" with all the amenities. It was pet friendly, had wifi and was clean and quiet. We loved having a little kitchen and a fully appointed bathroom. We also enjoyed the comfortable king bed. Best of all may have been the two beautiful sunrises on the porch while drinking our coffee. We can't recommend enough this sweet and quiet location just off the beaten path and can't wait to go back! Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

Glamping at its best!
Love, love, love this charming place. The tent was just as pictured, clean and fully stocked with essentials. The lake was perfect for fishing and kayaking, which we did everyday of our stay. I am beyond smitten and will definitely return! Can’t wait for our next trip here.

Awesome Unique Experience!
We made some great memories here and I highly recommend if you want a really fun and unique experience! I love that they have a private lake with kayaks and paddle boards to use on the campgrounds. There is a private gated entry to the Guadelupe river which was super nice! My son enjoyed fishing both in the lake and the river. I loved that we could easily text or call if we had any problems (which we did not have but did text and call to ask questions). Our family had a great time and would recommend to anyone wanting a unique tenting experience with all the luxury of having AC, private bathroom, and even a TV to watch if needed....and a private HOT TUB!!!
My wife and I had a great time. The private lake and hot tub was perfect. This is a great place to just lay back and relax in the Texas Hill Country. We will definitely be back.
We were amazed at how spacious and luxurious the tents are. It had every convenience we needed and we could still hear the birds in the morning. Will definitely stay again.

We’re Jeremy and Kelly Kerth, longtime Kerrville residents who have called the Texas Hill Country home for more than 20 years. We created Basecamp Resort as a place where guests can slow down, spend time outdoors, and enjoy everything we love about this part of Texas.
We love historic properties, thoughtful design, and creating stays that feel comfortable, welcoming and a little different from the ordinary. Whether you’re here for the Guadalupe River, a quiet Hill Country getaway, or time with family and friends, we’re always happy to share local recommendations and help make your stay a great one.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this property the first time we saw it. Set among the hills, water and wildlife of the Texas Hill Country, Basecamp felt like a place where people could truly slow down and reconnect.
Japonica’s lakefront setting makes it especially peaceful, with water views, wildlife and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors right outside the tent.
