About Philip Stacy
Our families are fourth and sixth generation Texans. We've been lucky enough to live and raise our family in the beautiful Hill Country along the Guadalupe River. I am a retired banker and school teacher and am currently the director of a local non-profit organization. I enjoy spending time outdoors.
Philip Stacy purchased this Cabin in 1936
Why Philip Stacy chose Ingram
This property has been in my family since 1936 when my grandfather purchased it. The 120 acre pasture is part of a larger working ranch that is located between Ingram and Hunt Texas.
What makes this Cabin unique
Beautiful natural scenery along with gorgeous Texas sunsets from the tops of the hills. Quiet and peaceful but located just minutes away from Texas Highway 39 that takes you to west to the quaint town of Hunt (10 minutes) or east to Kerrville (15 minutes). San Antonio, Texas is just an hour away.

Hill Country Cabin
Very beautiful place. Close to river fun and private lake was great for fishing and swimming. Will definitely be back!
GREAT PLACE TO RELAX
KIDS ENJOYED FISHING, HIKING, AND BEING KIDS OUTSIDE!
Thanks for staying with us
Nice Two Day Getaway
My son and I stayed two nights here at Papa's Palace and really enjoyed ourselves. The place was clean and nicely secluded. Food prep was pretty much limited to bringing our own pre-cooked meals or cooking on the very large grille outside. We caught several bass in the pond below the house though they caught onto us pretty fast so the last couple of outings were somewhat fruitless but that's fishing, right? The only thing I would change if the place were mine is to get a more comfortable sofabed. We brought our own 4" thick Tempurpedic mattress topper for the sofabed for my son to sleep on and it worked out really well. I slept on the queen bed and it was very comfortable.
We saw lots of wildlife including deer, wild turkey, jack rabbits and tons of different birds. There were also many interesting iron artifacts on the grounds to pick up an look at which hint at this property being used as a working farm for a long time. All in all we had a good time.
Looking forward to y'all coming back
Papa's Palace is my place
CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN, Quiet, Peaceful, Beautiful, Comfortable and Content.
All the essentials are provided.
The Bedding and Linens are crisp, clean and smell nice.
Fishing is challenging but fun and the swimming is like no other; you can see the bottom of this natural spring fed lake.
There are places to get away even more outside with hammocks, picnic tables, BBQ grills and fire pits, not to forget the areas of walking trails and wildlife. The Guadalupe River is 2 minutes down the natural road and plenty of restaurants within a 10 minute drive. This is our 5th visit, but the first time with the entire family. Watching ALL of my teenage children swim, fish, sunbath and sit out under the stars together with me, without cell phones, is invaluable. I picked Papa's Palace at random based solely on what my children have always called me and still do today, "Papa". It was the right pick !
Love this place
This is my second time visiting with my family. We also had another family join us on our trip, and they stayed at the other cabin on the property (see Mimis Mansion). This is the spot for a super relaxing getaway. We explored the property, fished, cooked by the lake, and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. Cabins are super clean and comfy. Great views from front porches. Perfect getaway for those who wish to unplug and relax.
