This private beach house, named The Wicked Whale, is only 0.1 miles from the beach and is located in the Ocean Drive section of North Myrtle Beach. This private house is pet friendly, has its own private pool and can accommodate a total of 16 people with 1 king, 1 queen, 2 fulls, 4 twins & 2 sleeper sofas.

The main house (on the 2nd floor) has a total of 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. This part of the house features a fully equipped kitchen, spacious living room w/1 sleeper sofa, dining area, washer & dryer and large balcony. Bedroom #1 has 1 king and an attached 1/2 bathroom and bedroom #2 has 1 full & 1 twin. The full bathroom is located in the hall.

The 2nd part of the house is mother-in-law suite on the ground floor with private entrance. The mother-in-law suite is perfect for older kids who want their own space or guests that have difficulty with too many stairs. The mother-in-law suite is set up like a studio and features a small living room w/ 1 sleeper sofa, a kitchenette, mini fridge, 1 queen size bed and 2 sets of bunk beds (1 set is a twin over twin, the other set is a twin over full). This level also features a full bathroom with garden tub and stand up shower.

The over sized lot includes a fenced in yard, private pool, professionally landscaped yard, and seating around the pool. Additional features include free W-Fi, cable TV and parking for multiple vehicles. PET FRIENDLY (DOGS ONLY) WITH $200 NON-REFUNDABLE PET FEE!!

The Wicked Whale is only 3 blocks (0.4 miles) from McClean Park which has 2 playgrounds, a baseball field, pond w/fountain, walking trail & picnic gazebos and only 5 blocks (0.5 miles) from Main Street where you can enjoy The Pavilion Arcade & ice cream shop, several restaurants, souvenir & specialty shops and popular shag clubs & beach bars (some places are only open seasonally). During the summer months, there is also a small amusement park set up with rides, food & games. There is also a 1 car garage full of beach equipment for your convenience.

The property was super clean and so many beds. Kids got to stay in bunks downstairs and loved it. Super close to beach and the main street.

Fantastic Location and Accommodations

This was a rental for a family vacation along with our pets. The location was perfect, a very short distance to the beach and everything else around, even the offices. Very quiet neighborhood. The unit was perfect with more than enough room for everyone.

Family cacation

Our family decided on a last minute vacation, we booked the house with no issues and loved the house. When we arrived, the house was clean and the pool was awesome. The beach was only a short walk and the kids throughly enjoyed the private pool.

Traveling with a pet

This property was great with having a pet. Nice back yard that is fenced. Places to walk her and well lite at night. We didn’t have a hair dryer, left VM around 7pm and had it the next morning. Great beach access that was walkable. Also walked to restaurants and shops.

Great getaway!

Great location! Layout of the home was amazing! Wish we would’ve had a larger group to enjoy the downstairs! Pool was the perfect touch for our little! We did reach out re the cleaning schedule of the pool (it needed to be vacuumed). Our stay was Thursday- Sunday and it was the end of the season… Lots of plates/ cups / utensils but nothing in the pantry. No spices, salt & pepper- so bring / buy your own. A great place & we’d def stay again.

Close to beach, nice pool, way overpriced

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Wicked Whale. The house is way overpriced. The pros, pool was nice and we all enjoyed daily swims, location is great, just a block from the beach so it was easy to come and go to the beach as we pleased. Close to stores, restaurants, golf courses, 20 minutes from Broadway at the Beach and only 10 from Barefoot Landing. The cons, the beds, couches, and even the dining room chairs were all SO uncomfortable. The beds were completely sagging, pillows flat, rugs and throw pillows old and worn out. Impossible to get a decent night sleep or relax on the couch it was scratchy and sagging. For the amount we paid for one week, time to upgrade to new beds, mattresses, couches and furnishings because there was literally not a comfortable place to sit or lay down the entire time we were there.

Great find in North Myrtle Beach

This was our first trip to Myrtle Beach and it didn't disappoint. The house was nice and it was a 2 minute walk to the beach. Loved having a yard for our dog. I believe this is the first season for rentals of the house and while all the basics were in the kitchen, over time, some additions could help. We purchased two pyrex dishes to use in the microwave as there wasn't anything in the cabinets to use otherwise, only melamine and metal pots. We also "gifted" two new beach chairs. Having use of a grill was great; thank you! Again we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and would recommend this property.
