There is nothing better than staying on the beach and this place will not disappoint. Just steps away from the beach. Would definitely stay here again. Nice remodel was done.
This duplex has everything you need for a wonderful stay at the beach. It was clean and communications with the host were easy. Screened in porch is perfect for morning coffee and sunrise watching.
By seniors I mean old people. The apartment was great, only a couple of steps to get in the place. Short walk to the beach. Quick trip to anywhere on the island. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed. Loved the screened in porch, many pleasant evenings spent there. We love SGI and will definitely put sea oats on our list of places to stay.
We had a great time staying at the house! Our host supplied the house with everything you would need for a fun week on the beach! Definitely will be returning to St George Island and this house!
We had an amazing stay and loved the ocean views. Never heard any noise from neighbors. The east end is much quieter and very few people on the beach. The unit was light and bright, very clean, and had everything we could ever need, including in-unit washer/dryer. All appliances worked and the kitchen was stocked with dishware/cookware/bakeware. Ample parking for our car and boat. Would absolutely stay here again.

Thank you for the wonderful review. So glad you had a great vacation!
My wife and I had a wonderful vacation at this location. The house was just as described: easy to locate, situated right on the beach, and comfortable. Most commonly used cooking items were available, the bed was really soft, and the furniture was in good condition. I loved how close it was to the beach, this made walking to and from for restroom breaks and dining very convenient. If I were to express any considerations that other vacationers may want to take, I would say that the living room TV is a little smaller than what most are used to, and that closet space is tight. Locals were friendly, eateries were good, and the town is clean. Will return!
30 seconds walk from back porch door to the gulf waters made this a relaxing and lovely vacation. Island is super dog-friendly. Guests who love to shop and cook may have a hard time as the grocery store (even the largest one on the mainland) was pretty limited. We enjoyed the very fresh seafood and shellfish at some local restaurants and fish markets. The louver bedroom doors let in more light and sound than we had hoped (we left a light on for the dogs). Overall, a great stay on SGI!
We had a wonderful time on our vacation in St. George at the Sea Oats 1. We made family memories that will last forever!
The view from the screen porch is priceless. We spent many mornings drinking coffee, reading books and listening to the ocean breeze. Most nights we grilled fresh seafood and watched the waves roll in. The inside was spotless and well equipped. Super clean! It was much larger than we thought. Plenty of room for all 4 of us and our dogs. Jessica was a breeze to work with and extremely helpful. We are already making plans to go back. Wishing we were there now!
We a family of 3 (with a 10 year old boy) stayed here in July. The upfront communication with the host Jessica was outstanding - almost realtime. The house and the location is fantastic, we called it the beach house. Just a few steps away from the Gulf waters. The house was clean and well renovated. All we needed was available.
You need to bring bug reppellent if you want to be outside after sunset. Also St Georges island is a very beautiful place, just dont expect many restaurants and party life.
We truly had a great time here.

We are so happy you enjoyed the apartment and the island! Thank you for the wonderful review.
Couldn't have asked for a better spot! The house (1/2 of a duplex) was very fresh & clean, steps from the beach, and single ground level which my wife appreciated.
Simple layout, but had everything we needed as base for trips to Apalachicola, Port St Joe, St Mark Nat'l Park, and just walking the beach and going to the St George restaurants & shops.
Didn't have any trouble accommodating 7 (had 5 relatives in another house on the island) for a shrimp boil one night.
Used the washer & dryer a few times (could've packed less clothes!). No dishwasher wasn't a problem between there just being 2 of us & eating out several times.
The host was great - checked in a couple of times via email and gave us a great tip for Jo Mama's Pizza in Port St Joe! Would also be great for a couple with kids (2 twin beds in 2nd bdrm). This is our 3rd time on the island wouldn't hesitate to book this one again if we come back to St George. Thanks!
This property was perfect for a laid back week. There were just a couple of steps, no actual stairs. A screened porch opened to the beach. An outside shower & hose helped stop tracking sand in. Though this building was probably the smallest on the beach, it didn’t feel that way. Two bedrooms, one bathroom, and an opened room with kitchen and living room. No dishwasher or laundry machines but we knew that before going. The kitchen was ready to use including blender, toaster, microwave, coffee maker. Everything was clean and comfortable. The island had little traffic, grocery stores, restaurants, and beaches to explore. Turtle nests were marked on the beach. A turtle talk is given over in Eastpoint which we found interesting. Apalachacola is close for more restaurants, shopping, church, and places to explore. We highly recommend taking an airboat excursion. My husband and I aren’t “beach people,” but we enjoyed it so much, we might plan a return trip. Seaoat #2 is where we’d want to be.

Liked: Check-in, listing accuracy
Ocean +++, Condo - Meh
Pros:
-Ocean proximity, very short walk right out the back door (this units main saving grace)
- Comfortable sheets and bath towels
- Clean shower
- Screened patio
- Books, games, movies
- Easy keypad
Know before you go aka Cons:
- Do not use this as a “working offsite location” as it feels very much like a jail or dorm room on the inside. Stark white lights, painted cinder block walls and uninviting windows treatments and each window I personally looked at was cracked (3 at least, if not more).
- Needs overhead fans and reading lights. One light on in the place lights the entire place up because the lights are so stark white like a surgical room. Overhead fans because it takes forever to cool down the unit especially if you have the door open for more than a few moments, such as to load in groceries, etc. Some nights the air didn’t dip down past 74.
- Furniture is very uncomfortable because it is outdoor wicker furniture with minimal cushion.
- Exterior cushions are more comfortable but are showing mold
- This unit does allow dogs, brought one myself, but my sheets were covered in dog hair when I pulled back the comforter. I’m sure they stuck during the wash but when allowing pets, need a good cleaning process.
- Owners showed up unannounced, although to bring a fan the day before we were leaving which was nice, because the main bedroom does stay warmer than the rest of the area, but this is not something I am personally a fan of.
- The oven / stove didn’t work when we arrived. Turned out the breaker was flipped.
- It is in the listing, but no washer/dryer which is slightly inconvenient when staying for a week. No dishwasher either. Frankly there really isn’t room.
- If cooking while there, stove is tiny, don’t plan on very large meals. One large eye.
- The general feel of the unit is “bargain hunters”
- Bedroom doors are slotted doors (if you are concerned about privacy/sound)
I know this is a lot and I feel slightly bad for the review but it’s all an honest review and the first time I’ve left anything less than a 4 or 5 star. Hopefully this will help the unit improve.

Thank you for your honest review. Looks like we have some things that need to be improved! This is a small apartment and we tried to bring in as much light as possible - hence the bright white walls. Windows do need to be replaced but we are unable to get hurricane windows at this time - supply shortages. There is now a pedestal fan in the apartment and table lamps in each room. New couch cushions are on the way - we had trouble getting the right cushions also due to supply issues. I have discussed the bed spread issue with my housekeeper and that has been remedied. Pets are not supposed to be on beds or furniture but looks like people don’t really follow that rule. Glad we could get the stove fixed for you quickly!
