About this property

Centrally Located: Eco-Friendly, Soulful and Not Corporate

"The Bosque HIdeaway" is not available at this time however until "our kids" confirm their tenancy we want to keep it listed. May be available beginning of 2025 but not sure. It is a very special place located in Cornville (wine country) at the end of a private dirt road but 10 minutes to Old Town Cottonwood (Dead Horse Ranch State Park, Tuzigoot Monument, Sycamore Canyon Wilderness). Jerome is a 30-minute drive where you will find fabulous restaurants including Clinkscale, Haunted Hamburger, Grapes and breathtaking sunsets. Hiking on the Mingus above Jerome offers more fabulous views. The Hideaway is also 20 minutes from Sedona, 15 minutes from Page Springs Vineyards, and 20 miles to Camp Verde (Montezuma's Castle and well) and the delicious Moscato. Hop on Interstate-17 in 15 minutes for quick jaunts to Flagstaff or Prescott.

The Hideaway is an eco-friendly duplex (no chemicals of any kind, nontoxic cleaning products we are happy to supply). It is home to gardens galore.

Carefully chosen amenities include a queen sleeper sofa, cactus rib coffee table, antique dresser, bedside tables, desk, kitchen table, and antique kitchen cupboard. Beautiful art and soulful appointments. Knotty pine paneling, saltillo tile floors, freshly painted with non-toxic paint, and blinds. Gray water system, composting, solar system, private patio with table and chairs. Quiet! Thousands of acres of hiking right outside your door and perfect for birding. No smoking anywhere on the property. The property has been rented to traveling nurses and is also available through Furnished Finders for longer periods. You will find some reviews there.

An additional note of importance: I am learning over time by hosting more folks what level of clarity I need to communicate regarding strong scents in body washes, laundry detergents, and perfumes. I have had some delightful guests here who have been wonderful. And they must have used fabreze infused detergent or dryer sheets at home because the odor permeated the sheets and towels and the entire house. So just a heads up about odor-filled body washes or colognes and other scents. I am trying to keep the Hideaway scent-free for sensitive folks.

A Quiet Retreat
By far and away the most relaxing and peaceful vacation I’ve ever been on! Tucked away at the end of a dirt road on the outskirts of town is this charming hideaway that offers a cabin-like, cozy feel. It’s beautifully decorated and super clean. It has all the amenities you’ll ever need and even extra nice things you don’t normally get in a vacation rental, such as kitchen condiments and spices, laundry soap and fabric sheets, and body soap and lotions. Truly feels like home away from home! I was greeted with fresh-cut flowers and warm, baked bread from hostess, Belle. She knew I was there for a quiet retreat and she respected my wishes for the week, only checking in periodically to see if I needed anything. She was kind and gracious at all times. If you like activities, you’re not far from hiking, biking, rafting and fishing. I’m a night sky viewer, so if you’re like me, you’ll appreciate the dark skies out here. Bring your telescope to catch amazing, unobstructed views of the stars and planets. And, you might even spot a UFO or two, like I did!👽 All in all, this was my best vacation ever. Thank you, Belle, for an incredible week. I will definitely be back!❤️

Very welcoming awesome place
This property was amazing! The decor and vibe was so welcoming and beautiful. The host was very helpful the entire time and we truly loved it here. It did take ~30 minutes to get to Sedona but it was a scenic drive and not bad at all. There was no service on the roads close to the property so it was important to route yourself using wifi prior to leaving. Great oasis.

Nature Lover's Paradise
A super quaint little duplex nestled between some beautiful plants (including corn and sunflowers)! A great stay for people who don’t mind bugs or wildlife. You’ll need to drive down a dirt road to get here, so make sure you have a car ready for an adventure. The owners live close to nature and use organic methods/items as much as possible. If you love nature, this is your jam!

About the host

Hosted by Belle Starr

Host profile image
My husband Bill and I are semi-retired and have never been busier. We are principals in a business called the Great American Seed Up (GreatAmericanSeedUp.org). We co-founded a seed conservation organization, Rocky Mountain Seed Alliance. We love living in the Verde Valley and live at the end of a road next to thousands of acres of hiking. We are avid gardeners and foodies and enjoy traveling, good books, and good company. Bill is a bike racer now moving into gravel riding.

Why they chose this property

We created this duplex for family and friends because Bill and I live in a 400-square-foot adobe we built several years ago and it has been difficult hosting in our tiny space. We make the "Hideaway" available to help us offset costs and because we love to share our creation and amazing space. We are very discreet about vetting our guests (and want our guests to vet us!) and the reason this is not an instant booking listing.

What makes this property unique

This is an earth lover's paradise with conscious and artful amenities. It is gorgeous and our little piece of paradise has retreat-type energy with lots of permaculture features.
