About this property

Adirondack Feel With Ocean Appeal ... Yes Please!

Adirondack style cabin with large logs and original art will excite you when you open the front door, but wont you be surprised to learn there are two more in the back! Positioned perfectly in a spruce forest, cabins encircle a large back yard complete with fire pit and picnic tables. The main cabin hosts bedrooms and kitchen while the second cabin has a pool table and additional bedrooms for the late night crowd. A short walk away is a private beach, it is like two vacations wrapped in one!

Sunset Lodge & Cabins is the perfect getaway for one family or two, with a large communal lawn/picnic/firepit area outside, and plenty of entertainment for rainy days inside, including a full-sized pool table. There are enough beds for 10 people in total, so you don't have to hassle with pull-out sofabeds or kids sleeping on the floor.
The cabins comprise a main house/lodge with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom guest cabin. They are located in the historic Sprucewold Colony in Boothbay Harbor and include access to a private, sandy beach.
The Sprucewold Association beach is a 5-10 minute walk and accessible only to residents and their guests/tenants. There you can swim, sunbathe or play with the kids. There is a kayak rack at the beach where you can leave your kayak overnight during your stay.
The cabins are built in classic Adirondack style, yet fully updated and modernized.
They are a 10-15 minute walk to downtown Boothbay Harbor in one direction, or to Barrett Park in the other.
Details:
Tom: This is the main Lodge with vaulted log ceilings, pine-paneled walls, Native American carvings, a huge sea-stone fireplace with carved wooden mantle, and many pieces of original Sprucewold furniture. Tom has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full
kitchen, dining room, a family room with a large, flat screen TV, and a large laundry room.
It is heated (hot water radiators) for those cool nights, but also has a gas fire inside the sea stone fireplace. THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING and the cabin can get warm on hot days, but the evening breezes soon cool it down for sleeping. There is a sun porch with comfortable chairs and a desk, plus a small TV. The large outside deck seats up to 8-9 people. Tom sleeps 6 MAXIMUM INCLUDING CHILDREN/BABIES.
Dick: This guest cabin is where generations of families and friends have gathered for reunions and parties. It has a large great room with vaulted ceilings, a full bar along the back wall, and a huge sea stone fireplace (guarded by a moose known as Steve). There is a gas fire for those cool Maine nights. There is a pool table, a reading/TV area (DVDs and videos only or Roku via WiFi), dining table and chairs, and a small kitchenette with sink, microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. Dick has two bedrooms separated by a bathroom with a shower and an original claw-foot tub. There is a covered porch with four chairs. Sleeps 4 MAXIMUM.
Harry: Harry is the owners' cabin and is not available for rental at this time.
Tom, Dick and Harry are named after the tunnels in the movie “The Great Escape”. Tom and Dick are available to be rented together, sleeping up to 10 people. Or Tom can be rented on its own (5-6 people).
The cabins are far enough apart that those sleeping in Tom will not hear friends watching TV in Dick, or kids toasting marshmallows outside at the stone fire pit. The cabins are a perfect setting for family gatherings. Caterers are available, with notice, and housekeeping can be arranged.

We love to meet our guests and go over the house, but we also respect your wanting to unplug and start your vacation. Red Bird is a self-check in but we are always available to answer questions or give suggestions. We are just a few miles away so you choose, if you would like to meet us or simply prefer to text or chat.

They area is abundant with spruce trees that separate neighbors and retain your privacy.

A short 5-10 minute walk could find you in downtown Boothbay Harbor or at Barret park in the other direction. The association private beach is also 5-10 minute stroll. Having a vehicle of bicycle will allow you to see many more attractions the area has to offer. Parking is sometimes challenging in town so be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes.
Guest Manual is in the kitchen and will provide you with house instructions, Emergency numbers, WiFi passwords, and suggested restaurants and sightseeing ideas. Please let us know your specific interests and we will be sure there is literature to guide you to your special place.

Lots of space for family
Both cabins were wonderful, lots of space, beautifully decorated and accommodations were perfect for large families. Location was great. Everything only a couple minute drive into town.

Magical & Memorable
Nestled in the captivating coastal landscape of Maine, the cabins were thoughtfully stocked to provide comfort and convenience. They boasted a rustic yet modern aesthetic, combining original wood with contemporary amenities. Cleanliness was clearly a priority, as everything was spotless upon arrival. As New Yorkers accustomed to walking, we were delighted to be able to walk to a beautiful, pristine beach! Equally appealing was the proximity to Boothbay. Just a short drive away, the town offers a delightful array of quaint shops and restaurants. It was the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility. The cabin complex also provided ample outdoor space for relaxation and recreation. A spacious deck with comfortable seating allowed for leisurely coffee mornings, picnic tables were perfect for family dinner, and the fire pit was cozy. Additionally, Lindsey was incredibly accommodating, responsive, and attentive to every detail. The welcome package provided a wealth of information about the area, including recommendations for local activities and attractions. We look forward to coming back next summer!

Great stay in Boothbay!
Our family really enjoyed our stay at the Log Cabin! We actually could not believe what a great value it was compared to some of the other options in and around town. The biggest surprise was how spacious the houses are, and how much we used the yard - we even had a family Wiffleball game. The beds were all comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you’d need to make a great meal. If you are after a log cabin feel with some space to spread out, that is walking distance to some great places (Spruce Point is beautiful walk and Boothbay Wharf was awesome) look no further.

Beautiful Property
Our relaxing vacation started as soon as we pulled into the driveway. The property is beautiful had everything we needed plus more. There was 5 of us that stayed in the Tom cabin and 2 adults that stayed in the Dick cabin. The homes were clean, beds very comfortable. Had everything you needed from fresh linens, games, to the kitchen being well stocked with dishes, etc. The water pressure in the showers were great. We spend our evenings around the fire pit enjoying star dazing and our days enjoying the sites around Boothbay Harbor and eating lobster. We stayed for a week and wish we could of stayed longer. I can't even think of one thing to complain about or to approve upon. Lindsay from Coastal Rentals was absolutely wonderful to deal with from the time we booked our reservation until we left. All our request were met. We are already thinking about next year.
