To our wonderful guests new and returners we unfortunately have had a couple of guests who have been untruthful in reviews and have caused disruption.Note this has always been a desirable place and still is.Due to this we have suspended automatic booking and ask for you to request booking and we will get back to you quickly.Thanks.We are located in the Beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains overlooking the quaint little town of Clayton, Ga.Close to many activities or just to unwind. Whitewater River rafting, fishing golf great restaurants and a breath taking view of Black Rock Mountain and surrounding mountains. We are located 7 miles south of North Carolina and 5 miles west of South Carolina. If you are looking for Gatlinburg you might want to keep looking but if you would like to visit Gatlinburg we are an hour and a half due south. Most of the water in Georgia comes from our mountains and we are blessed with many lakes and rivers, the Chattooga being the crown jewel of the southern whitewater rivers.Lake Burton,Seed,Rabun,Tallulah and Tugelo,Yonah are all very close.Lots of activities in the area or just sitting on the porch and looking at a beautiful view.If you enjoy wine there are a good many vineyards. Helen the beautiful little Bavarian Town is 38 miles southwest and an easy drive.PLEASE NOTE being in the mountains this is a" mountain driveway "but it is short and all asphalt and very stable.Just redone 08/24.We also send a packet "snail mail" with many things to do and see.Unfortunately we do not have garbage pickup. We tried the cans but couldn't keep the bears out. Please don't leave trash out at night. It will be a big mess in a.m. Thanks Bill S

This is my second time staying at Williebear Cabin and I hope it won’t be my last! Bill is so responsive if you have any questions. I spent many mornings and evenings sitting on the porch admiring the incredible mountain view. Thank you for sharing this place of calm and beauty!
We didn't stay because we walked in and the house smelled like pet urine, dirty sheets, filthy floors, dog hair all over the furniture, cigarette butts in an ashtray, used deodorant and toothbrushes for guest to use. The refrigerator was full of opened food. I called the host and he apologized and said he would refund my money because I left. But 3 days later , the host sent me an ugly email saying everything I said was not true. He also said the bad review that was listed July 17 was going to be removed because that person lied as well. So be aware, because I don't know where all the excellent reviews came from because the place is definitely not a 10. I hesitated to do a review since he refunded my money but after his ugly disrespectful email to me I changed my mind. I didn't want anyone else to get scammed like me with the uncleaness. The only good thing about the place was the view.
This is a fantastic property made even better by the accommodating host. Bill was very friendly and easy to deal with. The property is secluded and has beautiful views. I would recommend this property to anyone staying in the area!

We loved the house and location. The view was amazing and our dogs loved it as well. The owners are so nice and very accommodating. We will definitely go back! I recommend to anyone.
The cabin worked out nicely for a wedding in Toccoa Falls. The host was so nice. Really relaxing time.

I have never written a truly negative review for any VRBO stay! I hate to do this but our trip was marred by significant lack of cleanliness and insect issues. There were so many large spider webs inside the cabin (think Halloween spider web decorating), the loft bed was covered with a white powder that seemed to be coming from ant or termites, there were tons of dead flies/insects under the bed and also a bed bug catcher. We had to clean before we were comfortable to stay and ended up not using the loft bedroom. There was a lot of dust and trash under the other beds in other bedrooms and about an half an inch of dust and cheeto balls under the couch in the den area. The beautiful deck with a gorgeous view was so covered in spiders and webs that it was uncomfortable sittig there. And in general the place which is quite cozy but needs some serious TLC. I called to complain and the owner had someone to clean the next day. He also offered to refund the cleaning fee, he was very apologetic but it didn't quite resolve the embarassment I felt in having my family have to clean their own rooms before they could stay in the cabin I had invited them to for vacation. If it wasn't 4th of July week, I would have tried to move somewhere else. We made the most of the accomodations and truly enjoyed several waterfalls and swimming holes and hiking while we were there. I would highly recomend Dick's falls. It was amazing!!
My husband and I had a terrific stay at the cabin, which is in the most ideal location to town. It is secluded to give you the “getaway” feel while being 5 minutes away from town for anything we needed. The property manager sent us the most helpful details to easily find the cabin, was always accessible to contact if we needed anything, and provided a bunch of pamphlets to find fun places to eat and visit. Would 100% stay again. Thank you!
We stayed here with 4 children and 3 adults ( family). The cabin is spacious, clean, well-stocked with essentials, and the views are awesome. We would definitely recommend!
This charming cabin home was thoughtfully stocked with so many conveniences, from toiletries to hot cocoa pods for the Keurig. We were there Thanksgiving week and appreciated that the place was decorated for Christmas. It was an easy, short drive down the mountain to get to a Walmart for our groceries and the town of Clayton for shopping and restaurants. Bill was easy to reach via message and always responded promptly. We also appreciated that the check/out instructions were so easy-we basically just had to pack and walk out the door. I would highly recommend Willie Bear Cabin to anyone wanting a spacious home-base for everything the area has to offer.
Very clean location, love the decorations and great view! Was a great place to stay with our family and find some places for fishing. Great place to stay!

Very comfortable and gorgeous view!
The cabin was great- had everything you could need and very comfy. Close to a lot of attractions. The driveway is a little tricky but the gorgeous view is worth it. My only issue was that there was confusion about getting into the cabin and I tried calling the owner several times but got no response. He apologized but that was very frustrating.
unbelievable view... best most caring host we have ever experienced. no need to bring anything with you but your
meds and your clothes and your wallet. he has it all there
for any of your needs driveway takes awhile to get hang of
We loved everything about the cabin, even the driveway was fun. Very peaceful, close to everything, everything well stocked just bring food. Thank you for a fun week.
We had a great time ! The cabin is really cute and the view of the mountains is gorgeous, thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin😍🙏

Why they chose this property
This property has it all. It is comfortable and cozy with a beautiful view.Large enough for a family with plenty of activities in the area or just sitting on the porch isn't bad.Firewood is always down below the porch for you to use.PLEASE NO MOTORCYCLES OR 4 WHEELERS.
What makes this property unique
We purchased Williebear Cabin July 2008.It was built in 1999 but never used.We looked at many properties in the area and many had a 'winter view'.Not this one.The view is panoramic and the highlights are Black Rock Mountain,Pinnacle and Saddle Gap North Carolina. This home has the cozy appeal but also has plenty of room for 8-10 people. It is on 2 1/2 levels and is mainly wood floors and walls. The fireplace is stone and puts out a lot of heat.It is updated often and well maintained. All systems are checked regularly for best performance
