Oceanfront Traditional Family Beach House

The Fran-Ma-Ray, a wonderful ocean front family beach house on the beautiful beach of Ocean Drive in North Myrtle Beach, is available for year-round rental. The Fran-Ma-Ray has the delightful and comfortable atmosphere of an old-style beach house, but with many modern conveniences.

The Fran-Ma-Ray, located at 821 South Ocean Boulevard of North Myrtle Beach, has been owned by the same family since it was built in 1939. After extensive damage during Hurricane Hazel in 1954, the Fran-Ma-Ray was rebuilt in 1955. It has been enjoyed by many family and friends since that time. In 2009-2010, The Fran-Ma-Ray underwent still another extensive remodeling. The updates include a new open front deck and five sets of new French doors in the living area which open up a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean. While the house now features many modern updates and additions (including central heat and air-conditioning, washer and dryer, cable TV, internet access and ceiling fans throughout), the original knotty-pine paneled and hardwood floors heart of the house has been retained and provides the nostalgic feel of an old-style beach house.

The Fran-Ma-Ray features all the comfort and convenience a vacationer could want with the Atlantic Ocean right outside your front door. Everything from the excitement of Myrtle Beach entertainment to the quiet of sitting and rocking on the front porch and watching the waves. The Fran-Ma-Ray offers it all!

For a little extra room, we also have Ginger's Place located on the same property just behind the Fran-Ma-Ray which has just been completely renovated and is a beautifully appointed 600 sq.ft. studio apartment. Please see VRBO listing #1316925 for more information.

The house was perfect for our family! The layout was great and provided ample space for us to all spend time together comfortably. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, the kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, pans, and utensils, and having a grill to cook out on was great. The porch was amazing! There were multiple rocking chairs facing the beach that were perfect for reading or just relaxing. The location was excellent, close to shopping, entertainment, and restaurants. On-site parking was great. The owners were very friendly and easy to communicate with throughout the process. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable, home away from home!

2021 Family Vacation

This was a great home for our family of 12. Plenty of room for everyone and quick access to the beach. Loved sitting on the porch watching the waves roll in. Did a grocery order from Publix and it was delivered in about 2 hours. Kitchen was great and had plenty of pots, pans, etc. Owner was great to work with. Responded to any questions quickly. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation with our adult children and our grandchildren.

Rocking Into Summer With a Breathtaking View

There were nine of us celebrating my niece’s graduation from the University of South Carolina. We had plenty of space to spread out and there just happened to be nine rocking chairs to enjoy our coffee in the morning and our cocktails in the evening. We loved our view of the dune grass, sand and ocean as we sipped our beverages and enjoyed delicious food prepared in the very well-equipped kitchen. Eating breakfast and dinner on the two large picnic tables on the deck was so much fun! The house was close to everything, including an awesome used bookstore next to Kroeger. Blue tooth speakers in the living room were an added bonus. We did a huge Instant Cart order from Publix that was delivered within two hours of arriving. Best decision ever. Fun, fun week with family in the perfect house for us to relax in....

Cozy Comfort

Our experience taught us that sometimes it isn't all about technology but that, what is most important is the quality time spent with your family. We compared staying at Fran Ma's to that of a cozy blanket wrapped in the warmth and love of home. The ocean view and wrap around porch with rockers was so relaxing and provided a plethora of stress relief, which in these covid times is a true blessing!

Fantastic beach getaway

This is a fantastic beach house in North Myrtle beach. Large house, that can accommodate 2-3 families. The house was very clean. The check in was easy. The best part of the house is the large deck with tables, benches and rocking chairs. The beach is right in the backyard. We never even had to wear our flip flops to the beach. The beach is just beautiful and not as crowded as other parts of Myrtle beach. The main st in North Myrtle beach is just a short walk away. The house is fully equipped with everything. The kitchen has all pots, pans, utensils, blender, crockpot dinnerware etc. Suzanne is a quick to respond to my emails, usually within the hour. Our family enjoyed the trip and our 4 girls had the most fun of all. We are certainly going to return to this house again.

Amazing!

This was my first full week beach stay with my family and it was wonderful! During our stay there was a Cat1 hurricane that hit us almost directly and at no time did I feel anxious or worried about anything. The owner was great at communication and made sure we were doing well throughout our stay. The only thing I would change for next time is sleeping upstairs so I wouldn't wake up with every creek but I'm a light sleeper. Lol. Amazing!

Best beach stay ever!

From the moment we walked onto the front porch of this wonderful house we knew we had made the right decision. And as we walked through the rest of the house we felt like we were home. We have stayed at many places at the beach but this is hands down our favorite. We spent many peaceful hours looking at the ocean from the rocking chairs on the front porch. A short walk and we were at the beach. We had 11 adults and never felt crowded. The bedrooms were all very cozy and beds comfortable. We were within a short distance from everything we wanted to get to and yet when we were in the house it felt very private as if we were in our own private oasis. The hostess was immediately accessible by phone if needed. We will absolutely be back to this little slice of heaven as often as we possibly can!
