Little house near the park
All of the staff that assisted me were very professional & helpful, especially Wendy & Tara. Opening the gate was a bit of a problem & the lock box for the keys wasn’t explained very well at check in so it took a bit to get the key. I have 2 suggestions: how about some hooks in the bathroom & bedroom and a curtain on the bathroom window. One of my friends dad built this house in the 1950’s which made it fun!!oh I forgot the neighbors on either side of the porch have untidy yards so I didn’t sit on the porch which I had planned to do. Maybe some tall evergreens along the porch fence to block those views

Quite little spot
House is in a quite neighborhood with long drive way for plenty of parking. Perfect size for two. Few suggestions…Install some blinds, the bay window overlooks someone’s backyard and is not very private. Also need blinds on bathroom window. Invest in an exterminator. Could not really sit on the patio as the front of the property was covered with spider nests. Also need to have them look at the ant issue. We had to pull the bed back from the window as there were ants crawling all over the bed. Lots of ant traps around but that was a little off putting. The air conditioner worked well although we did have to leave the bedroom door open and move the bed closer as it was pretty hot in there. Found a pair of women’s panties on the floor when we moved the bed so maybe a little more attention to detail cleaning? Other than that it was an ok stay.

Good
If you need a place to land while you explore the Columbia River Gorge, this place should work for you. Pros: you get the whole space to yourself. It's clean and quiet (trains never bother me) with kitchen, bedroom, laundry. Those features make it better than almost any one-room hotel room. The bed is comfortable. The AC was a bonus as the entire Pacific NW was experiencing a heat wave while we were traveling. Cons: Just one. There's no private space outside to be used for an evening beer. The chairs shown in the listing overlook the neighbor's backyard and windows to their house. Not a real dealbreaker for me but I do like a private space to sit outdoors in the evening. Bonus - I lost the key. I knew I should have left it in the lockbox but I did not. We returned to the house and tried the backup lockbox and couldn't get in. Then we tore the car apart looking. Finally we called the Vacasa number and they helped us with the backup code and got us into the house in about three minutes. Thank you, thank you, for that! I would stay here again.

Ideal
Amazing location and cozy spot! Ideal for my husband and me as we love biking. The Cottage had easy access to both Syncline and Post Canyon. Simple, relaxing, and user-friendly.
