We enjoyed our stay at Mill Pond Cottage. It was a great central location for visiting many of the UP sites! Communication with the host was great and if anything was needed it was quickly provided.
This is a fantastic vacation rental. The home has been completely updated and has everything you need. The kitchen is especially well-equipped. Communication with the owner was excellent. Engadine is a very small town, but the convenience store has a good selection of basic supplies including produce. The people in the community are very friendly! The king bed is very comfortable (we didn’t use the other 2 bedrooms but there is plenty of room for 6 adults). Our dog enjoyed the big back yard and the walks in the park across the street which also has a playground. The house is on a busy road and the traffic is loud in the early morning which is the only thing about the property that is less than ideal. However, this wasn’t a major issue for us and it still ranks as one of the best vacation rentals we have stayed at.
There were a couple cooking utensils missing for what we needed, but we weren't too inconvenienced. The bedroom was really comfortable. The internet worked very well; my husband brought his Playstation and he didn't have any problems with his online gaming. The host was very helpful and informative and quick to respond. Overall, we had a really nice stay!
This property far exceeded what we thought we had booked and the host team is fabulous! All the details put into this property would have me searching for it first if I return to this area. They had chilled glasses and freezies waiting for us at arrival! The location was a perfect base camp for our trip and a place we were excited to return to in the evenings. We especially appreciated being able to let our puppy and child run around in the large back yard while we grilled dinner!
Cottage has everything that we needed. Very roomy. Close to several town with dining options, close to great hiking and close to the beach. Had a great time, as did our dogs and would not hesitate to stay here again. Daryl is a great host.
The absolute best thing about the stay was the cleanliness of the home. Daryl’s attention to our needs was so wonderful….he made the stay the best it could be!

The cottage was perfect. It was clean and fully equipped. Even had an ice maker in the bar area. The location is perfect. We were near the beach and was within an hours drive from several attractions we wanted to visit
Property was nice and comfortable, pictures were accurate. Nice location. We went to Grand Marais and Tahquamanon falls, easy trip to both places. Bedrooms, kitchen and bath were nice.
We chose this location because it was down the street from family. The cottage was clean upon arrival and check in was very easy. The house is nicely decorated and came with some amenities to make our short stay comfortable. It was easy to communicate with the host and he even brought us some delicious brownies! We will definitely stay there again when visiting family in the area!
The Mill Pond Cottage was a great stay for our week in the UP. Central to activities that we wanted to do. Daryl was a excellent host! We will definitely consider staying again when we're in the area!
We loved our stay! The central location allowed for great day trips after cooking breakfast together in the spacious and fully stocked kitchen. Our evenings were quiet and the beds were very comfortable to prepare for the next days adventure. The host was very responsive with our few questions and everything was just lovely. Thank you for a great vacation hangout for our family!
My family very much enjoyed the property. Having a dog friendly property was of top importance for me, and I so appreciate that. My family from Michigan and Minnesota met there for a few days to enjoy Mackinac Island and the UP. We were all very happy with the accommodations, including the friendliness and responsiveness of the host. We would highly recommend the property, and happily stay there again.
