Personally, this was a moderately decent stay. I’ve stayed in shared-restroom places before and usually enjoy them, so this experience wasn’t new to me.Area – Fantastic location. I felt safe walking around, great restaurants nearby and Chinatown/Union Square within walking distance. Took the BART from the airport since it stopped close by, which saved money on rideshare. Couldn’t have asked for a better locationRoom – Loved the style and artistic touches. Fun writing on the walls gave it personality. Amenities included a TV, fridge, and iron/board. Bed was a bit low, but fine. My main critique: no AC. The room was warm and humid, and the window barely opened with no screen, so I bought a fan at Target. Privacy is limited since windows face other rooms so I would keep blinds closed.Accommodations – The location and room design earned this place 3 stars. The missing 2 stars were due to:Bathrooms: Reviews said they were spotless, but I rarely found them clean. Toilets were sometimes unflushed, and showers had used towels left behind. I ended up washing in the sink in my room one day. I’d recommend paying more for a private bathroom.Host communication: Somewhat responsive—answered one message after two hours, but did not respond to my message about very loud neighbors.Final thoughts – I did enjoy my stay overall, but the bathroom cleanliness and lack of communication were disappointing. I would stay again, but paying for the the en suite restroom.
